C&p Exam
I had a C&P exam at the VA back in 1980, because I had problem with my heart (beating too fast after running the PFT test) while in the service. The chest x-ray showed "old granulomas calcific residua” in my lungs. I was denied service connection, however the denial letter did not state anything about the results of my chest x-ray. The letter did not mention anything about an x-ray being done at all. In 1989 the VA did an x-ray and found that I had a spot on my lungs that was diagnosed as Sarcoidosis. My lungs are scarred from a disease that I had no idea I had because the VA said C&P exams are not kept at the hospital, but sent to the regional office. Who h…

tdiu Second C & P?
I'm confused. When I was discharged and put on TDRL 4? years ago my VA claim was finished w/in a few months. 90% bumped up to 100 because of unemployability. In Feb I went back to San Diego for another PEB and they finalized my medical retirement. Obviously not getting better. Now I got a letter informing me of a C & P exam? I thought when I got my rating from the VA that it was finished. Or am I just being naive? Nothing is easy w/ any government agency, is it. So, is this a formality, are they searching for something, is this standard procedure? Should I be worried? If so, how do I prepare? Thanks!

Change In Comp Exams Pattern For Nod Iu?
Original applied for iu,given 1 c&p, phys. Denied rating used c&p physical and va psych doc notes. With nod, two c&ps were scheduled, phys and psych. I don't get it, just figure some details the dro wants now. Any ideas? I feel shorted a c&p for original application, but not sure how to read it all. Could be nothing, just the way it goes. Any ideas or discussions (or clues) are welcome!

Parkinson's &c&p Exam
I'm currently waiting on remand ordered C&P exam to hopefully establish service connection for injury sustained in 1995 while in the USAF. My initial claim was filed in 2004. In 2007 I was diagnosed with Parkinson's. The only symptom I have is tremor, which at this point is controlled effectively with meds. My question; if an examiner can't look at me and see that I have this disease, am I under any obligation to tell them during the upcoming exam? I can't help but wonder how this knowledge could be used against my case or ratings. I haven't read anything about this on Hadit, maybe someone else has. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Looking for Doctor in San Diego area for Nexus Letter. I am opening a new claim, current disability rating is 50% and have many more service connected health issues. I have some help from a pro that works in filing claims. But, I need a doctor to read over my files and write a Nexus letter to present for my new VA Disability claim. I am in San Diego county. I did hear about a doctor in Orange County who writes letters, but for the life of me I cannot find his name any longer. I am still searching to find out who knows who and where that doctor is. Does anyone know where a doctor that writes Nexus letters and opinions on connection to service related health issues migh…

ptsd Just Had C&p Exam
Well I just had my C&P exam last Thursday, I think it went well. I took the advice given by several here on hadit and did not take my morphine, neurontin, or codiene for a day prior to the exam. Oh boy, did it worked, I had 9/10 pain with sweating, and range of motion almost nothing. I think he felt sorry for me especially after I told him "I can't live like this" and "I won't live like this". He was openly worried that I might be suicidal (which I am), due to PTSD, this just adds to it. He talked very positive and kept reassuring me that I would get better and not to worry, that alot of what he said was "off the record" and "would not wind up in his report", we …

ptsd Ptsd C&p Exam
Well this old Marine Vietnam combat veteran had the C&P today for PTSD, Dr. seemed pleasent, only asked about one stressor incident the normal "what happened". Asked about enemy combatants whether mostly VC or NVA, how they were dressed and what type of weapons they used, told him VC dressed in black pajamas and carried either an SKS or AK47 or whatever they had available. He talked to my wife about the nightmares and the other problems like always vigilant, jumpy, grumpy etc. Asked how long we have been married, told him since 2001 but wife knew me when I came back from Vietnam so he really started asking her about my mental then and now, she told him the only di…

tdiu Tdiu During Appeal, Berta And Others
I am currently waiting for the BVA to act on my appeal for service connection for thoracolumbar spine and an increase for my major depressive disorder currently rated at a joking 10%. As you can see, I am currently at 80% with my major condition being bi-lateral carpal tunnel syndrome at 30 for right and 20 for left. I am working now, but my depression is getting worse and my ability to perform my job is declining. I use an excessive amount of sick leave every year. I am planning on approaching my VA psych about signing a letter stating I cannot continue to work. Sorry to be long winded, my question is: can I add a request for TDIU to my BVA appeal case or should I…

C&p Exam Worksheets
Hi everyone, this is some good information on what to expect at a C&P exam. It has every exam you can think of. Just go to the VA.GOV website and in the search engine at the top of the page type in (disability worksheets). And click on the first link and after that scroll through the different injuries or illnesses that you have questions on what is expected from the doctor. It should look like this.
