Within My Rights To Ask For Higher Power Mri ?
the VA MS clinic is scheduling a new MRI series soon. the doctor said it would only be a 1.0T strength. that is a low power MRI. the MS help groups i go to all said they were scanned with machines much higher such as 3.0T strength. low power machines ofter do not pick up the brain or spinal lesions. obviously they are not wanting to see if new lesions have formed if they want to use such a low power machine. my question, is it within my rights to ask the dr that i want the series to be done with a higher strength machine?

Depression Nexus
Hi, I know you guys probably see this question a lot. But I have a claim in for Depression, I was never seen for a C&P for depression. I was told my claim since Nov.08 is at the rating board for the second time. In short, I started to have depression and anxiety in active duty, but I never saw anyone until I was in the reserves years later. The only nexus I have is from the past three years of VA psych. doctors and my reserve unit in 2006 saying I could not be sent to Iraq because of psych. meds.and they were going to try to discharge me. My last GAF was 53 with generalized anxiety disorder. So I guess I am asking is, why no C&P exam for depression and is there en…

Va Disability And Tdrl
I am new to this board and have found a lot of useful information! Not sure if anyone can help me though.. I was put on TDRL September 2008. I was rated by the VA at 100% Service-Connected. I have been told that pay wise I should be getting both. The VA and the Army. The problem is the Army has stopped. I called DFAS and was told to send in a letter. Has anyone run into this problem?

ptsd Need Advise For Upcoming C&p Exams 06/17/09
Fellow Veterans, I need some advise regarding C&P exams for Tinnitus & PTSD both on the same day June 17th. The tinnitus & hearing loss is what it is but need advise on the PTSD exam. I met my current spouse in 1967 when I returned from Nam and she remembers my mental state at that point in time, we were together for a year and half before I had some legal problems caused by my extreme anger and "short fuse". After a year in jail we lost track of each other until 2000 when we got back together and married in 2001. My question is should I take her with me to the C&P exam as she is very familiar with the nightmares and flashbacks etc?? Or should I have …

Surgery During Claim Under Review
I'm an OEF vet and have filed a disability claim recently, mainly in regards to my right ankle that I sprained and did some tendon damage to during my tour. Once I have my C & P exam and my claim is under review from the Veterans Review Board, will it cause a big hang up for them making a decision on my rating if I am scheduled for corrective surgery on that ankle? Will they delay their decision until after my surgery and make me come in for another ratings eval to see how the ankle has healed and how much of a disability it is after? Thanks.

Supraventricular Tachycardia (heart Arrhythmia)
The good news: heart arrhythmia is SC. SMR state symptoms "consistent with SVT". Bad news: never captured on ECG (typical for SVT), holter monitor or event monitor. the events were too sporadic for a 24 hour monitor and I was never offered a long term (30+) event monitor. I've had all the stress tests (stress, thallium stress, stress echocardiagram) which were negative which only proves that my SVT is not triggered by exercise/exertion (again, not unusual). Instead, I was diagnosed--by AF doctors--with SVT and placed on beta blocker which is one of the standard treatment options. CFR 38 ratings: 7010 Supraventricular arrhythmias: </SPAN>Paroxysmal atria…

Additional Limitation Of Motion Rating
At my QTC Medical Evaluation, my right hip range of motion is limited to 50 degrees flexion. In the notes following the range of motion table, the doctor wrote additional limitations after repetitive use, and stated "The above additionally limit the joint function by 15 degrees." My question is, how does the VA use that 'additional limitation' statement? With the ROM measured at 50 in flexion, I have no % rating. Flexion needs to be 20-40, if I read the CFR 38 correctly.

Sorry For Bugging
Good Morning, Sorry for bugging you all but my claim is very important to me. Does any one know of any other items that would help my VA appeal case. It is in the state of final appeal and I am awaiting a date for my hearing the lovely Air Force Lost my medical records. I have searched everywhere. What else can I do. Anything will help. Has anyone done any research or heard of any cases being approved without medical records.
