ptsd Not Happy With C & P Exam
I had a C & P exam yesterday for PTSD and it didn't go too well. I knew it was going to be bad from the start when the doc didn't even really greet me to ask how I was doing. She just got straight to business. I felt rushed the whole process and it seemed like she was in a hurry to get me out. She barely asked any questions, resulting in me having to rack my brain for things relevant. Is this normal? If I feel I got the shaft on this exam should I ask for another C & P exam for PTSD or should I wait to see what the rating decision is and then file a NOD if I'm not happy with the result? Thanks

Comp & Pen Exam For Increase/ui
Hi, i'm new here and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for my upcoming appointment. I am service connected 50% for mood disorder NOS. I filed for increase last November and have my exam later this month. Over the past year I have lost my job, granted SSDI, and have had persistent depression, anxiety, insomnia, mania, and fatigue. All this is in my notes over the past year. I lost my job last year after I had a manic episode and cussed out a customer. This is also in my medical notes. My Psych stated I was in a manic episode which led to my termination. Soon after my termination I applied for SSDI and was awarded in November 08. SSDI is for the same condition…

My husband was in the Navy he was deployed this last time from March 08 to Oct 08,In Dec 08 he went to the va to seek help for his depression.( he was told he could not go there until he go out of the military) He was sent to a hospital for 7 days. He is always depressed and in pain. He has bad headaches 3-4 times a week for hrs at a time, knee problems, he always walks with a limp, the va gave him an x-ray and said everything was fine, but his knee is always swollen. What i am not understanding is why wont they give him anything for his pain. they gave him Ibuprofin 800mg, which does little to help.I understand he has had suicidal idealations but he is getting worse, the…

Service Connection At 0%
I was service connected for sinusitis at 0%. At the C&P I told the doctor about the frequency of sinus infection per year and the need for medication. I also told her about headaches, pressure and tenderness around my sinus areas. Well, in the award letter it stated there was no mention of frequency of sinus infections or headaches, so no percentage greater than 0% was awarded. How do you rebuttal this when clearly the C&P examiner did not mention this in her medical report. Do I wait for a while and file for another increase, an if so how much time should I let go by. Or should I try to get my ENT doctor to write something in my VA medical records to submit…

Some Rules For Reduction In Compensation
http://www.va.gov/vetapp09/files1/0904513.txt VA is required to comply with several general VA regulations applicable to all rating-reduction cases, regardless of the rating level or the length of time that the rating has been in effect. 38 C.F.R. §§ 4.1, 4.2, 4.10, 4.13 (2008); see also Brown v. Brown, 5 Vet. App. 413, 420 (1993). These provisions impose a clear requirement that VA rating reductions be based upon review of the entire history of the veteran's disability. See Schafrath v. Derwinski, 1 Vet. App. 589, 594 (1991). Such review requires VA to ascertain, based upon review of the entire recorded history of the condition, whether the evidence re…

New C&p Exam For Hearing Loss
Good day, everyone. New to posting on the forum, but have been viewing the information for quite some time. A little background. . .served 9 years in the Marines from 1987-1995. I have a CAR from Desert Storm. Was medically retired from the Marines in 1995 with a 30% rating for post ACL reconstruction with lateral meniscectomy and traumatic arthritis. While doing my exit physical it was discovered that I had hearing loss in my right ear. VA rated my knee at 10% and tinnitus at 10% in 1995/1996. I reopened my claim in November of 2008 for both my hearing and further degeneration of my knee. The knee exam came pretty quick and they rated my knee at 50% and the tin…

Service Connected At C\p Exam
I am retiring July 31 09 after 21 years of service. During my separation physical last month I was diagnosed with a genetic heart disease called Brugada Syndrome, 14 days later I had an Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator (AICD) installed in my chest for life, a great retirement gift. The question is, will the VA service connect this at mt CP exam? It being genetic is my worry, there was no sign of it at my enlistment in 1988 and the first evidence of its manifestation in my med record was in 2000. The syndrome was not officially identified by the medical community until 1992, 5 years after my enlistment. I am on terminal leave and have no idea what to expec…

Wait Time For Bva Ordered Comp Exam
I have a comp claim for service connection-presumptive, for an injury that led to Degenerative Disc Disease that was remanded back to the RO for another compensation exam. This because the doctor that performed the first one at the VA did not review my case file before the exam. I'm now waiting to get an exam date. It was noted on the letter from the BVA judge that the remand issue should be handled as expeditiously as possible. Can anyone tell me what that means in VA language??? Kind of curious as to the time frame from now to the exam and until the next decision is made in my case. Thanks!

ptsd Quickie C&p Exam
I had a C&P recently for PTSD. The Doctor spent only a minimal amount of time with me, maybe 15 minutes. He asked a couple softball questions and it seemed like he was about to dismiss me. He touched on a "stressor" and I told him I had pictures and a buddy letter etc and was eager to explain the stressor aspect but he didn't want to hear about it as he said it was all in my file. I have been seeing the VA Counsellor at the clinic as well as the VA psychiatrist and am on meds for sleep, panic, depression and have been screwed up since the 70's. I was stationed near the DMZ in '68 at a Marine Combat base with almost daily artillery strikes. I was unaware I could file f…
