Curious if anyone with partial grant/partial remand has been paid?
Over a year ago, when I began reading this forum, there was some speculation about those with the Status of a Partial Grant/Partial remand. Some speculated that the grant must be worked first and the remand settled later......others said that their grant was NOT settled until their remand was settled. Has ANYONE had their grant implemented and paid BEFORE their remand was settled? Thanks for any input or expertise on this matter........

Appeal and Retro Payment
I have a question about retro payment. My appeal was closed and granted on Nov 28 2018 100% permanent and total with a new effective date of Aug 29 2017. I just received my retro payment and it looks like it's not correct. My son was in collage full time in 2017 and just graduated May 2018. My question is shouldn't the VA back pay me for my son's tuition? What should I do next?

Effective Date Help
I have a question on effective date. I file a claim in 10/2004 before I ETS bilateral knees, I was denied and appealed it because I was denied. In 2006 VSO Rep told me to withdraw my appeal to get another one awarded and I did. In 2018 the appeal I withdrew was awarded effective date 02/2015 for bilateral knee. Should the effective date be 10/2004 or is it correct 02/2015 since I withdrew my appeal.

Appeal granted and closed.
My appeal was granted and closed on November 9. I got an unofficial notification from the DAV on November 15 stating "appeal granted with an evaluation of 30%" which is great! My question is this: How long until I get the official notification from the va? Nothing on ebennies has updated since the appeal closed. Appeal is now in historical and just says complete and at originating va office. I understand no one knows va timelines to a tee but a general timeline would be great. Thank you all! Hope you have a Merry Christmas! Edit: This was my first time appealing and it was a VBA grant.

Unsure if should appeal or just drop it
Hello, We are in need of some advise. I’m hoping someone here can offer some advice. My husband and I really need it. While on Active duty my husband had a sleep study performed. He was sent off base for it. My husband was told by his primary he had obstructed sleep events, but didn’t require a machine yet. So from 2009 until he retired Dec 31,2015 obstructed sleep apnea was listed as a diagnosis. 2016 to now it’s been listed in his Va records. A few months ago his Va mental health provider suggested for him to get a current sleep apnea test. The Va sent him To get one. He stopped breathing over 25 times an hour and was fitted for cpap. He sent a claim for s…

Is this claim CUE worthy
In a nutshell, won an appeal in 14 granting service connection for post military hysterectomy based on in service symptoms and medical service record. Service connection granted back to 07. Filed CUE RAMP in June of this year for earlier service connection. This was based on original denial in 1996 for " no gynecological pathology diagnosed". I submitted two pieces of medical records that diagnosed displaced uterus. Am I reaching in asking for the 30% for displaced uterus with marked disturbances or would hysterectomy become secondary to displaced uterus. Decision is pending approval now. Only info sent from Va was a development letter. Rated Disabilities …

Should I file a CUE or will it equate to a net zero pay?
I retired with 20yrs from the Marines. My question up front, should I file a CUE for my initial 2000 decision or would I just be awarded a higher VA pay offset by a reduction in my military retirement pay with a net zero gain? Here is the background 10/99 retired and filed claim for Headaches, Degenerative changes to T5-T7, right knee condition, left knee condition, low back condition, left foot condition, chest muscle pain, lung condition, myopia and astigmatism and pinguicula of the eyes. 5/22/00 Rating Decision headaches 10%, Degenerative changes to T5-T7 SC with 0% and NSC for everything else. 7/25/00 SMRs were taken in and reviewed, were …

File a NOD nor or wait for pending MEB?
I have about 2 months left before I have to submit a NOD or my claims decision becomes final. I filed an intent to file on my own within a year of coming off of Active Duty and the actual claim 20 months after I came off and was denied service connection. It looks like I am going to going through an MEB now on the Guard side for the same issues I claimed. I have always heard you can’t have two things going on at once so I don’t know how to proceed. Continue with the NOD or let it finalize and wait for the MEB? I think I have a good shot at the NOD via DRO process. I have an LOD that service connects it and doctors visits every couple of months from active duty until …

MULTIPLE RATINGS FOR KNEE ISSUES QUESTION
Howdy all. I have a question regarding my rating approved for both of my knees. Originally the VA granted service connection for my right knee torn meniscus and subsequent repair (10% - DC 5259). My current claim requested an increased rating for my right knee due to increased problems with it. I also requested secondary connection of my left knee due to a fall caused by my right knee giving out. They granted the left knee request at 10% and they left the right knee at 10%. I read on one of the VA law blogs that the BVA has ruled that we can get rated for multiple DCs for our knees if the meet the requirements of each one. I'm planning on submitting a NOD to disagree wit…

Just a Comment on VSOs and Who they Really Represent
Howdy all. I recently received a decision letter on some of my claims. Some were positive, some negative, and some in between. After reviewing the decisions I have decided I am going to file a NOD on the decisions. SO as a courtesy I emailed my VSO to keep her informed on my intentions and provide my rough draft disagreement statements and reasoning. She immediately sent it to their legal staff. The legal staff came back with every reason why I should not submit a NOD. Their response is below. "If you are going to NOD and apply for an increase, you need to be aware of the risk that you could be reduced for the knee and/or not increased above 10% again if they do cond…

Psoriatic arthritis
Hello I am looking for some help with understanding how the VA rates one disability to another and why receiving medicine for one is not the same as receiving it for the primary disability. I retired in 2013 from the Navy with documented psoriasis and was awarded a 0% rating. Within a year I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. I filed a claim and was awarded service connection at 0%. I was shorty thereafter placed on methotrexate and humira. I filled my appeal in December of 2014. I just received my letter and was awarded 10% for my psoriasis but denied anymore since the immune suppressive drugs were not prescribed for psoriasis but for the psoriatic arthritis…
