Gulf War Syndrome As A Part Of The Autoimmune (Autoinflammatory) Syndrome Induced By Adjuvant (Asia)
This article suggests GWS could be a manifestation of a newly described autoimmune syndrome induced by adjuvants (ASIA). Adjuvants are agents added to vaccines to achieve a greater immune response using a minimum amount of antigen. GWS patients were subjected to heavy vaccination programs, and studies show adjuvants "may trigger inflammatory or autoimmune illnesses in genetically susceptible people." Gwi Study Still Seeking Participants
I just got back yesterday from a trip to Atlanta to participate in a DOD sponsored study being done by Dr. John Shoffner at Medical Nurogenetics. They are still looking for another 20 or so study participants. Dr. Shoffner is particularly looking for GWV's that have joint and muscle pain along with the other typically associated symptoms. Dr. Schoffner is genuinely interested in finding a cause and treatment for GWI. He is using skin and blood samples, looking for genetic markers, mitochondrial damage and I'm sure a whole bunch of other advanced medical stuff that deals with DNA and cellular functions that is light years over my head. I got to spend about 30 minute…

Appeal On Presumptive List Now
I have two issues that were filed over 5 years ago, they were denied, I did the letter notice of disagreement on time. I have since had a different claim decided about one month ago by local office, it was approved, however these two claims from 5 years ago is still laying in limbo. The items in these old claims have been put on a persian gulf presumptive list. Since they are now on the presumptive list, do they have to go through the appeals process or can the local regional office make a reverse decision on the claim, if so, how does one go about it? or does it have to go through the VBA? When I call to discuss them, they have the excuse of the recently decided c…

I saw this on 91Outcomes.com. Please give it a read and then write to your congressmen and representatives and ask them to lend their written support for Senator Murray to Sec. Shinseki! VA Requirement for Diagnosis Determination May be Hindering Gulf War Illness, Other Claims "A key lawmaker says the Veterans Affairs Department may be unnecessarily delaying disability claims by heaping needlessly complex requirements onto the physicians who screen veterans."

Mention Of Gwi Still Makes Doctors Eyes Roll....
I had a visit with a neurologist to go over my migraines and "probably fibroymyalgia but I'm not sure" symptoms and treatments today. It was my first time visiting with this particular doctor. He was quite nice and helpful, willing to go the distance with me to try to find something that will help reduce, if not eliminate, the debilitating headaches 3 to 4 times a week. He was thorough in answering my questions and seemed to understand that I had a grip on my headaches and body pains after dealing with them for 20 years in increasing increments. Then I asked him if he was familiar with Gulf War Illness. Oh boy, I might as well have asked if he believed in voodoo.…
