Veteran/child Of Nam Vet Exposed To Ao
Well, I done gone and did it. I was at Leb. VA for C&P for knee increase. While killing time I spoke with the Enviro. Health rep. Gave her a copy of my DD-214 and my father's. Also a copy of the page of my original VA rating letter that stated spina bifida of S-1. She is excited because I am her very first Child of AO. I also spoke with the Bennies counselor, who put in my AO claim, and officially stamped it as received. I am his first as well. Guess I'm #1, huh? I pointed out to him that my proof is the VA's own X-ray and rating letter!!! He said that the regional office for this type of claim is in FL. And he's got no idea what kinda time line we're looking…

3 Ao Presumptives Published ?
Someone needs to check this out... Canton Daily Ledger Posted May 03, 2010 @ 05:56 PM LEWISTOWN — On Oct. 13, 2009, the secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced his decision to establish presumption of service connection for three additional illnesses (Parkinson's disease, ischemic heart disease, and B cell leukemia) associated with Agent Orange/herbicide exposure in Vietnam. On March 25, 2010, the VA published a proposed regulation in the Federal Register as part of the process to implement the decision to add those three diseases to the list of presumptive conditions relat…

diabetes What Ischemic Heart Disease
Ischemic heart disease, as a new AO presumptive, will certainly bring many more Agent Orange claims into the VA system. With proof of AO exposure these claims should be very easy for the VA to rate and award. The biggest problem with these claims that I foresee is that the VA will not have adequate evidence to determine IHD as many vets with IHD might have CAD or CHF in their records as well as other medical terms that in fact mean IHD diagnosis -but maybe the VA could misinterpret this.Or a C & P doctor could opine inaccurately on this AO disease. I was talking to notable Vets lawyer Doug Rosinki a few weeks ago ago who had answered a vets que…

Delay In New Agent Orange Presumptives?
I read this today on Military.com's newsletter (Copyright 2010 Tom Philpott) and hadn't heard it before. Has anyone else heard of this? I am paraphrasing a bit, but a link to the entire article is below. Webb: Delay Agent Orange Claims, Stop Bigger Pay Raises Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va) could become a new champion, for taxpayers, against what he perceives as excessive spending on a new wave of Agent Orange claims. Webb risked the anger of thousands of veterans from that war when he won Senate approval last week of an amendment to block, at least temporarily, the Department of Veterans Affairs from paying new disability claims on three prominent diseases presumed lin…

Nehmer claim? Agent Orange Related Lung Cancer
Hi, My career army dad served in Vietnam. He died after retirement at 48 of lung cancer. Does a deferred 21-534 claim from 1989 constitute a nehmer claim? The information I've read on the internet seems to say claims that were denied are Nehmer, but I haven't seen much information about claims that were marked "deferred" and never adjudicated. The claim includes AO presumptive illness. Thank you all for your help and wealth of information that you share on this forum. I've been reading it for a while and you have helped me so much!

hypertension Agent Orange Training Seminar Contintental United States Locations Breakdown
Hello All, I have copied and pasted this information so it will appear in the correct topic under Agent Orange and to have it Archived for all Veterans to be able to use. The topic appeared in the General discussion topics but due to the fact that I carefully listed the Materials Training Seminar in 1973 which is located in the Archives here and now have broken down the actual location which will give more information rather than the list that appears with the corresponding number, the person sent to training , and the name of the post. Most times these locations on the list does not specifically list the actual location, but only the depot name. Now it is broken down …
