  1. Fellow Marine johnjjr. I also have sleep apena which was diagnosed prior to retiring from the Military in which I am rated 50% just for that. Since You are already at 100% you probably wouldn't get any more money, but there again I'm not an expert on this, but If I were you I would probably feel better if there was some rating to it, atleast this way you're cover for any equipment you might need further down the line. This is only MHO. I wish you well Marine. Former Marine SSGT....1976 thru 1993. Semper Fi....
  2. inthewind I am also trying to find more information on DFAS for split pay, but not having to much luck. I will ask around tomorrow and see if I can find any information for you. I am blind from my left eye so sometimes I call onlly stay on the computer for short periods due to the right eye straining, sorry, but I will help as much as I can. Can you believe that, that was one of the deferred issues, my blind eye which is service connected. Don't know about the VA sometimes haha, maybe their just over worked.
  3. I don't know about the split monies. I retired in Aug 2010, but I put my claim in July 2010 and they give me 90% with several issues deferred in May 2012 with 17 months of retro with an effective date of March 2012 but I didn't get my money until May 2012. I also qualified for concurrent pay, so like I said they only witheld $5.00. Hopefully you see your money soon. I really don't think it will take you that long to get your money because you have already been receiving some money from the VA so you're in the system already. Good Luck.
  4. Once DFAS releases it back to the VA it will take around 30 to 60 days to see it in your bank. DFAS witheld $5.00 for my VA waiver. I really don't remember how long mine took, but I know it wasn't longer than 60 days. Then all of a sudden they deposit all my retro money in my bank. Good luck, and Congrats.
  5. Hello fellow Texan and thank you for your service. Congrats on your rating. Yes, hold on to that Retro money brother until you get settle down. Good Luck too you and your family... Aggie.
  6. If you already saw the $5.00 VA waiver in DFAS, that means that, they already came to somewhat an agreement. They are probably planning on giving you a higher rating on the 3 deferred contentions. I still have 5 contentions being looked at for rating, and I already received 17 months of retro pay. Like I said, you're in good shape., and will probably be in better shape once they rate the other 3 things. haha. No worries. You're fine... Best of luck. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask away. Aggie....
  7. Yep, that letter on your 10 points will also be there on the same day. Congrats.
  8. Yes, that what they did with me. I started my claim in July 2010. I then retired in Aug 2010. Was granted 93% in march 2012, but of course they only pay for 90%. Anyway, yes they will withhold until DFAS audits your account. But since you already notice the $5.00 waiver fee means that thats all the Military will keep every month. Then you will get a BIG Retro payment direct deposited into your bank again. Take a good breath buddy and don't worry about it, it's all good. That's how I was until I saw the deposit in my account. You will receive concurrent payments. One from the Military for retirement, and one from the VA for your disabilities.. Congrats.
  9. Yep, mine was the same. Effective date 3/1/2012, retro back to day after retirement for me 9/1/2010. Congrats.
  10. GOOD FOR YOU. Now try to enjoy your life my friend, you deserve it. Thank you so much for your service.
  11. Let me ask you. Whats the difference between 100%IU and 90%T&P? which one is better and which one pays the most monthly benefits? Reason I'm asking is that I was just awarded 90% but with no T&P or P&T or IU, of course I still have a few medical conditions that were deferred until further evaluations I guess. Currently in the review of evidence stage. Thanks...
  12. I'm in California and I have been able to go in to e-benefits several times today....
  13. E-benefits is currently being updated, but all you do is just go to E-benefits as you also have before and on the left side just put your information and click log on tab and it should work. I just tried it and it work but like I said it is currently being updated, but it will let you log on. Good Luck.
  14. Don't worry that happen to me too. I was in notification then i went to review of evidence, then about 5 days later I received a white envelope telling me that they had rated me at 90% service connected with 6 contentions deferred. Get this, I am still in review of evidence so that doesn't mean anything you could actually get a rating while being in that status. Keep checking the letter generator. Good luck Aggie
  15. Thanks robvaner and Cool Breeze. Good information here and I greatly appreciate it. I will keep an eye out, and keep checking with DFAS on any deposits.
  16. Congrads on your award, I'm so happy for you. I'm a little confuse on how CRDP works. I also retired with over 20+years and was just recently awarded 90% service connected with several other issues deferred and waiting on the rating for them. I just received my first payment from the VA for the 90%. No retro pay yet.I also received my retirement check from DFAS. But I haven't heard or know how the CRDP payment works. Will that come from DFAS with my retirement check or will it come as a different payment and is it from DFAS or VA. My effective date is March 1,2012 but my claim was filed on July 25,2010. I would think they owe me Retro from the day after I retired which was August 31,2010. Any information would be greatly appreicated. Thank you . Semper Fi Aggie
  17. Retired 9/1/2010. Opened claim on 7/25/2010. Granted 90% Service Connceted, with several issues Deferred to include left eye blindness"central vein Occlusion and retinopathy" with effective date of 3/1/2012. Receiving Social Security due to my Service Connected Disabilities. First payment due to post on 4/1/2012. Question regarding my retro money dating back from 9/1/2010 day after my retirement date of 8/31/2010. Dfas already verified that i don't owe them any money,so when should I expect the retro from the VA? I recently also applied for IU due not being able to work. Any opinions will be greatly appreicated. Thank you all in advance. Aggie
  18. Congrads Mrs. Rockman. I am so very happy for both you and your husband, I know what it is to have all this stress. My wife also worrys, especially seeing me go through all this pain, suffering ,stress, and let's not forget sleepless nights. Not a day goes by that I don't thank Jesus for women like yourself and my wife that stand by their husbands when we need the support from others just to get through the day. If not for you guys, we veterans would probably be in a nursing home or some other place where they take care of injured vets,, away from our families. Anyway, I wish you guys the best of luck and hope you take a very long vacation, YOU DESERVE IT... Aggie.
  19. I received White envelope today but posted in wrong place. Please see under introduce yourself. Sorry, not feeling well tonight. Thanks Aggie
  20. Kiefer82, this aggie54 did anyone get back too you on the questions that you have on the process with the VA? if not, send me a message and I will try to give you as much info as I can. Have you started a New Topic` If not start one so you can get all the members involved and try to help you. Good Luck.. Aggie...
  21. Thank you AFButch for your comment, Greatly appreicated, I know justice will be served as I served my Country almost all my life. I know the VA has a hard job to do and their only human, and like all of us sometimes we have to correct our mistakes by going back and fourth until we get it right. Right? I'm sure they will take a closer look and make the right decision.
  22. The date Ebenefits first showed was 5/28/2010. QTC on 6/25/2010 with a closed date of 2/2/2011. But they have it showing as Claim date of 7/25/2010. I really don't understand these people. Seems to me like they have their dates all screwed up. Hopefully, they will notice it and fix it. I will take your advice and keep the form until I speak with them about it. Thanks Coot for being so concern in helping me. Aggie.
  23. Coot, I looking at it right now, and it says Effective Date March 1,2012. Combined Evaluation 90%, Gross Benefit Amount $1661.00, Net Amount Paid $1661.00. I don't know whats going on Coot. Ebenefits is showing Claim filed date of 7/25/2010 under Reveiew of Evidence and then it's also showing Special Correspondence, date of 7/12/2011 showing under Claim Received. Under Benefits Explorer it shows 90% Military Disability Rating and 90% VA Disability Rating. Permanant and Total is uncheck. Yes, I have been 20% since 1992 for injuries while in the Marine Corps. Coot that's all Ebenefits is showing, I truly don't understand what is going on with my case. Oh , I found my copy of the form 21-686c that I provided the VA with. No worries I'll send it again. I retired on 9/1/2010. Thanks Coot. Aggie
