  1. Bertie and Carlie, I would like to thank you guys for being so helpful. I know a lot about the new IDES system, where I received my %s while on active duty awaiting to be medically retired. I am new to the Civilian side of the house. I have to wait till one of my %s get bumped up to atleast 40% before I can apply for IU. I am meeting my Lawyer on Tuesday for the SSD side of the house. I currently have a Fully Developed Claim in to have my %s upped. I can only hope that I become as proficient as you guys and make the process for me as smooth as possible. Thanks again and truly wish you two the best.
  2. Jayco, Congrats you deserve it. It could take up to a year for Dependents. I put my in before the Navy retired me in February and I am still waiting 8 months later. As long as you get it in the long run, at this point that is all that matters. God bless you and good luck in life.
  3. GlitterPopRock, I truly feel for all the Hell that you have been put thru. I was 30 when the Navy medically retired me in February and it was scary. I am 80% SC and I had a really good job working for the State but I could not handle it anymore and quit recently. I was going to put in for IU thru the VA but I have 4 30%s and 2 10%s. My VSO said that I need to get one of my 30s upped to atleast 40% before I can apply for IU thru the VA. My PTSD should have been higher, the VA C&P rated my PTSD as Severe in all categories and my GAF was 42. I did not want to fight with the VA, so I took my retirement and ran. Now I am going to see what VA rates me at, once they reevaluate me again. Also I am going to apply for SSD on Tuesday with a Civilian Lawyer. What are the chances of me getting approved in your opinion? God Bless you and I hope that I don't have to go thru all the Circus Acts that you had to endure.
  4. FullTime, Congrats and I know what you went thru. I was retired from the Navy this past February at the age of 30. I am currently at 80% SC and applying for higher %s, then apply for IU. I have 4 30%s and 2 10%s, My main conditions is Crohn's Disease, PTSD and Migraines. Every time I go see DRs or People see my DV plates, I get these horrible looks. I am tall and well built and they always say "You Don't Look Disabled" and I just about cry. My DRs say I have the body of a 30 year old and the insides of a 65 year old. I get so frustrated and emotional at times, and if it wasn't for my wonderful Wife and Daughters, I don't know where I would be. Sorry for venting so much, just glad you made it thru the tough times bud. God Bless You
  5. killemall, You are a wonderful person and you enjoy helping others as much as I do. I know how you feel, some of my buds that I have helped are all 100% and IU. I have been stuck at 80% for the last year. We will get what we deserve it will just take time. God bless you and wish their were more people like you in this world.
  6. Congrats Radio Dog, I just put it for my PTSD to get upped from 30%. I was rated low from the VA. I was active when I got my ratings and if the VA would have given my 50% or higher than the Navy would have retired me for PTSD and not my current condition which is Chron's Disease. I had a GAF of 42 and VA C&P rated my PTSD as severe along with other mental conditions. I hope they give me what I deserve, as which you too deserved. God bless you and wish you the best.
  7. Seahawkfan, Don't worry about what stillhere said in his comment. Just put your comment on the forum and we all try to help each other. I was on another website like this for almost 2 years and I had to get off because of comments like stillhere said. What I have found on these forums is that we all get so anxious and want answers and try to help each other, then when people succeed and get 100% or IU, they tend to not help people as much and even become disgruntled at times. God bless all of you and I hope that we all get what we have deserved since the beginning of war.
  8. Bluehen, Thanks for giving good info.
  9. doubleD You got a good % for PTSD. I have 80% total, but they only gave me 30% for PTSD even though VA C&P listed my conditions as severe with a GAF of 42. I was active duty when I got my %s, so I hope that my request to have %s upped will happen soon. Good luck to you and wish you the best.
  10. doubleD Congrats. They wont pay your civilian doctor bills. It will take a few months to get paid, and your dependents will take up to a year to get approved. But remember any money the govt owes you will collect as back pay and you will get it eventually. Your benefits depends on your state. For example I live in Tx, and I get free Fishing and Hunting License and a tax break on my house and car taxes. Each state is different and some offer more than others. Good luck to you and your family.
  11. I have 4 30%s and I know that one of them will get bumped up to 40% or more and then I will apply for IU thru the VA. My VSO rep told me today that I can not apply for IU until one of my %s gets bumped up to atleast 40%, even though I already have a total 80% for service connected. With the claim in the VA to up my %s, I hope it goes fast. I am going to meet with Lawyer on Tuesday for the Social Security Disability. I hope everything speeds up for all of us. Good luck to you.
  12. Pete53, I sure hope what you are saying is true. Either way you give me a good morale boost for the day. Thanks for the good words.
  13. bluehen, very happy to hear you got some good news. You deserve it, and all that comes with it. I am going to apply today for IU with my VSO and I can only hope for the best. What conditions due you have and how long did it take you to get approved? I would appreciate any info at this time.
  14. We all deserve the best and hopefully one after another, we get are just deserves. God Bless all of you. Hope the Govt gets their act together and weed out the frivolous claims, and help those of us that truly deserves the money.
  15. I have learned not to challenge the Government r VA if you don't have too. I know you deserve your exemptions, but is it worth them trying to reduce your %s. Just try to live as best you can, and find a cheap apartment or something to get you by till you figure all this out. My best friend, non military, is 100% disabled and lives with his mother. He just called me today and asked me to help him find his own place, because he is tired of living with his family, but he only received $700 a month, atleast you are in a lot better shape financially then he is. Good luck to you and truly wish you the best.
  16. Tonio, My name is Antonio too. I am so happy for you, maybe our common name will bring me good luck. I am going to submit for IU thru the VA on Thursday, and just hired lawyer for SSD. This process is so scary, just like when the Navy retired me. All I knew was the Navy for 9 years, I don't know how to sit at home and wait for this process. God bless to all of you.
  17. Good Morning to all of you. I was medically retired from the Navy in February. I recently quit my job as an Agent with the State Tracking Violent Sex Offenders. It paid a lot, but I could not handle the pressure anymore. I just hired Binder and Binder for my SSD claim, and going to request IU thru VA next week. I am currently 80% Service Connected thru VA. What are the chances of my SSD getting approved and me being bumped up to 100% and IU thru VA? I just hope this process doesn't take too long. Below are my conditions and %s. Crohns's Disease-30% PTSD-30% Migraines-30% Scars due to multiple surgeries-30% Nerve Damage to Tongue-10% Tinnitus-10%
  18. My case is Under Review and status states "Unsolicited STR's (New). What does this mean? I would greatly appreciate the Help. God Bless all of you.
  19. Coconut, I was awarded 80% back in the spring, and I have a claim open that says Under Review too like you. I don't know if they review everything again for errors, or it is because I have pension for PTSD and Crohn's Disease. It worries me too, like you. Atleast you have 100%. I resigned recently from my state job as an Agent Chasing Sex Offenders. It paid a lot but I couldn't handle the pressure any more. I just applied for SSD and waiting for my %s to go up. I have a long wait ahead of me. Thank god my wife works and I have my two daughters. God Bless all of you, for Anyone willing to Sacrifice for their Country, deserves a Smile on the way out.
  20. It will bounce back due to the VA raters needing more info or they want to double check something in your file. Happens to all of us bud.
  21. My dependents verification has been in Notification for almost 2 months now too. Just be patient and hopefully we get our money and answers by Christmas. The VA always slows down around the holidays thru February. God Bless all of you.
  22. doubled, I was just medically retired in Feb after almost 9 years active and multiple trips to the Desert. I have had PTSD for a few years, and even spent time in the Nut house last year. My GAF was a 42 and the VA rated every condition as severe, yet the VA only rated me 30%. I currently have a request to have my %s upped. I am 80% with all my conditions. Per the VA policy, raters are suppose to use the GAF scores as a measurement towards %s, but I have a few buds that are raters in Texas and Louisiana and they both say that a lot of VA raters don't go by their own guidelines. I hope you get atleast 30%. Good luck and God Bless you bud. I just quit my job as an agent with the State chasing Violent Sex Offenders. It paid a lot but I could not handle it anymore. I just got Binder and Binder to represent me for my State SSD. I will be struggling soon too with not much income coming in. My wife is very supportive and I just hope the US helps all of us before it is too late.Anyone willing to Sacrifice for their Country, Deserves a Smile on the way Out.
