  1. I will have to look at it and post on here. I'm at work, and only have a short amount of break time, through out the day to come here. I just put on the key focal points.

I know for sure that the award letter only mentions the pes cavus and plantar fasciitis. It does give info on reaching the next level of 50%.

  2. Ok, just got VA letter stating 30% for pes cavus(claw foot) w/plantar fasciitis. It does not say bilateral or not. Ebennies says same as well. On myHealthevet on the notes it has from the C&P exam, the examiner wrote this;

    For both feet,

    pes cavus(736.71)

    plantar fasciitis(726.73)

    Metatarsalgia(no code listed)

sequelae of heel and arch pain w/plantar fasciitis

    metatarsal pain.

    And for L foot only,

    Hallux rigialis, mild to moderate.

Should not all these things be listed on my letter and disabilities list on ebennies? I know the VA likes to lowball everything they can, or just give one condition and ignore the rest. What say you?

  3. There really is no set pattern to how they decide the general time frames. I had a few recently that were listed as a 6 month estimated time of completion, and 2 of them were completed in about 10 weeks.

I have one, now in prepping for decision phase, that was initiated this past May, that estimates completion between 10/15 and 03/16. But this one had been listed as no estimated time due to type of claim. It was filed as "foot condition L, to include plantar fasciitis. I mailed them a 30 page evidence packet the same day. Took 6 weeks for any movement, which started with a phone call from the Philly VARO. They wanted to know if this claim was "real", I said "Yes", they said "okay, we forwarding to your VAMC for C&P scheduling. That took 2 weeks before exam was scheduled. Went to exam and discovered the foot condition claim, L, was now a bilateral foot condition, to include plantar fasciitis. This one has been fermenting since late 1992. So...who knows.

  4. Not sure if this is exactly correct, but I had a similar experience back in the spring, and someone on here told me that when you file a new or reopen a claim, the VA will sometimes reopen all or your denied contentions to see if the current one has evidence that may go with the others as well. Or something like that.

  5. I remember when I was getting my hearing tested during AD and since then, that I was pushing the button for hearing noises in my ears even when the machine wasn't making any. When asked, I said that I heard high pitched sounds that I thought were from the machine. And the harder I tried to concentrate the more I heard the phantom sounds. It's so hard to pick out the phantom beeps from the real ones, especially at lower volume, cuz the voices in my head just won't be quiet long enough.

  6. I was surprised to read that a lot of Vets on here, have had a lot of issues trying to get the tinnitus SC'd. It was one of my first ones, was easy as P I E, no questions asked. At my C&P for hearing, which was initially rated 0%, they asked what my MOS was, I said, Airwing Maintenance, KC-130s and CH-53s. They asked about hearing protection, I said yep, but you can't wear them in the workshop, cuz you can't hear the phone or hand held radios. So when the fast movers are going down the line, straining for the air...especially the EA-6Bs...so dang loud your ears would be going in and out, overloading with the noise.

But that was just my experience.

  7. Um....She is the Undersecretary of the VA., allison.hickey@va.gov. A lot of Vets have had near instant results/action on their claims, after contacting her. I believe her rank is General, so if and when you email her, use the appropriate honor and courtesy. Her work email is frequently answered directly by her, but sometimes some of her staffers do it too.

  8. I dont know about anyone else, but we have about 3 different posters asking questions here. If you have a question on your issues, then you start a new topic, you dont ask your question in someone elses post because you dont know if previous responses are to "USN" to Andyman, and its confusing for everyone. Sometimes new people dont understand that its impolite to post questions about your case inside someone elses topic..you need to start a new one. This is USN's post, as he started it, so questions and answers should be limited to USN's. (Gee where is carlie?)

I apologize for my behavior. I didn't realize I was hacking this thread. My social media skills are severely lacking, as this is the only social media I participate in. Again, mea culpa.
