Jimmer got a reaction from flores97 in TDIU/ property tax exemption
Hi everyone,  I wanted to share a conversation I had yesterday at the County Assessor office.  I live in Arizona, and I called the assessors office in Phoenix, Arizona  to acquire about the property tax exemption for veterans.  I ended up talking to the nastiest , meanest  woman that I have encountered in a long time.  When I asked her for information, and the process for applying for the property tax exemption, she was very reluctant to give me the information.  The she said "the exemption is not just for you vets, it is for anyone that is disabled".  Then she said  "All you vets are the same, you are always trying to GAME THE SYSTEM".   "You want something for nothing,  just like asking for a hand out".  She transferred me to another lady, who was very nice, and apologized  repeatedly.   I managed to get the individual's name ( first name yes,  last name kind of tricky, she said it so fast when she answered the phone).  My blood is boiling!  I have contacted several individuals , including my state senator regarding this "slam".  To be treated like that is a disgrace, and I will not tolerate on behalf of myself, and all my brothers and sister in the military!   Shit will hit the fan!

flores97,  Thanks for the info on Valor.  They are practically in my backyard!  (I live in Arizona) and after looking at their web sight, I know exactly where the area is they are located.  I had a DRO hearing two weeks ago, and depending how that goes, I will definitely use Valor.  I can't believe they are here in Arizona.  I will definitely refer you  as the person who put me in touch with them.  I am hoping for the best with your IMO!

Berta (and others)  There is a skit in which the Three Stooges  where  Moe says  "you call yourself a doctor?  You don't know nothing.  You don't know the patients, you don't know about medicine,  you can't answer a simple medical question.  Curly over here knows more about medication and being a doctor, and look how dumb he is.  (Curly just smiles and says "yuk, yuk, yuk).  So tell me birdbrain are you really and doctor and where?".  The doctor says "Yes I'm a doctor and I practice at the V.A hospital in town".  Moe (hand to forehead)  "Well that explains everything".

Gastone, you are absolutely right, a big weight has been lifted off my back.  The DRO person said he didn't need any additional information, he kept on commenting that the information supported my claims.  He did say within 60 days I would have the results, possibly closer to 30 days.   I will check with the state on the property tax exemption, I do think Arizona does have that for veteran's.  Thanks for the info I will let you know when I receive the  final results.

Hi Everyone, I wanted to give you an update on my DRO hearing today 3/21/2016.   I took place at noon in Phoenix, AZ/. and it lasted about 40 minutes.  I went the informal route.  I made a two sets of the info needed (nexus letters, DBQ's, etc.) and numbered each item.  I had a recap page the stated what the item was an the corresponding number.  The DRO person told me, "I have been doing this for several years, and I have not such  a complete files like yours.  It makes my job much easier".  There were several issues involved, including   diaphragmatic paralysis, lower back,  dizziness/vertigo.  A couple of times when going over the information, the DRO person remarked, "I don't know why this is a issue, the file and supporting documentation, support the veteran's claim".   I felt good in the hearing, as the DRO seemed very knowledgeable, concerned, and took notes.  My VSO, had dealt with him before, and she said, he is one of the better ones, that I couldn't have received a better DRO person.  He told me at the end of the hearing that my information/documentation had supported my position, entirely.  So I will see what happens.   I owe a  wealth of gratitude for all of you help, preparing for this hearing.   Buck52, Asknod, Gastone, Navy4life, flores97, your input was spot on.  My VSO said I had done the best job preparing for the hearing of anyone she had ever seen.  The credit lies with all of you.  I couldn't have done it without your help.  If I missed naming  anyone, my apologies.  You have the wisdom and knowledge how to navigate thru the system.   Thank you once again.

Navy4life,  I will let you know the results after the hearing, Monday March 21st.  12:00-1:00 p.m.  I have made copies of all the information needed, and I am categorizing them and numbering as well, so I can make a quick reference to a particular point.  I have also made a complete set for the officer as well so that we are on the same page.

Guys, right now I am single, and the way things are going, I my stay that way.  I consider myself, a "up-beat, outgoing guy".  I hear all the time from women you are a "nice-guy why aren't you married".  I usually say  " I am a nice guy, because I am not married".  I have friends who want to fix ne up with someone, and I am opening to that provided they are "generally nice".  A lot of women are not.  I have met so many "miserable, selfish,  me-first, heartless" women, it is incredible.  Maybe I am being unfair, but that seems to be what I am seeing out there.  No thanks, I can do miserable all by myself if I choose to do so (which I don't).  Maybe one day one will come along,   but I do want misery.  Hell, if I want misery, all I have to do is watch VA screw up my disability claims!

Flores 97, Buck52, Navy4life, and Vync,  Thank you for providing me a wealth of information, concerning my DRO meeting next Monday.  I am in the process of organizing my information, going over the nexus letters,  DBQ and medical journals.  You gave me a good insight on what to expect at the hearing.  The C & P doctor told me he was going to deny my claims, but then told me I had a really good chance of winning on appeal.  Go figure.  Thanks again, for the information, even tho the hearing is a week away, I am not going to wait until the list minute. to be organized.

Andyman73/broncovet, I found out she had a "guy" on the side, so she thought the grass was greener with him.  It didn't work out that way.  Gastone, I ended up having a second surgery for a detached retina on the left eye, which was a lost worse then the first one.   I am "legally blind" in the left eye.  The V.A. CUE'd themselves and gave me a 80% on my eyes along with 50% PTSD.  I am now at 100% IU, and have a DRO hearing next Monday for three other things, Back, Lungs, Headaches.  Gastone your comment about getting rid of the HEMORRHOID was priceless!  LOL
