  1. Richard 1954, That is awful, was the surgeon a VA or a VA-contracted surgeon or an outside surgeon?
  2. Thank you Seminoles and jefmil50 for your supportive comments, I appreciate it so much.
  3. I have (among other MS symptoms) neurogenic bladder which has worsened and when I put in for an increase naturally I was reduced. Makes zero sense. Now I am in appeals-ville. A BIG shout-out to my husband who does not get paid to care for me. He resigned from his job for which I will be eternally thankful. We go day by day---it could always be worse. Staying positive.
  4. It is said the "devil is in the details" and I did some digging after the info came out and found that home inspections (once each quarter) are required. Nothing to hide at la maison Greene but I personally find that caveat intrusive.
  5. I just finished reading the link...yes indeed this is huge news. Note how DUE PROCESS was mentioned in the article.
  6. Watch out for PREDNISONE...a very powerful drug which has positive and negative qualities. It is the first line of defense (in both IV and pill form) for calming an exacerbation of Multiple Sclerosis. It also causes cataracts. I have had so much Prednisone for MS exacerbations so much so that I developed cataracts in both eyes. Both eyes are cataract free now thanks to a local ophthalmologist well worth the cost. I am grateful to have had the cataracts removed, the doctor said I was one of his youngest cataract patients and confirmed they were steroid (prednisone induced). The cataracts are secondary service connected at 0%. Now I can buy that Porsche (not)
  7. This is a very interesting conversation...one of my friends is from France and she is due to take the citizenship test in a few months. She is not one to get into trouble thank goodness but you never know. This is the first time I thought about deportation.
  8. Happy Birthday Alex, thank you for all you do to help us!!!  H   🎂

  9. Great advice from Vetquest "don't get mad, file an appeal". Just my two cents worth.
  10. Thank you Broncovet and Doc25, I appreciate the guidance. H
  11. Hi Hope all is good. Seeking opinions on how to proceed: there is new medical info in the myhealthevet (this appears to be helpful to my appeal but who knows), anyway, is it best to give the info to the VSO or should I mail it to my regional (certified return receipt requested) ? Also, does whomever is working on my appeal have access to the medical treatment notes in myhealthevet? Thank you. H
  12. Hi, I am staying with my appeal in the Legacy as I only have one contention. Have a nice weekend everyone. H
  13. I agree. Disabled Veterans have it bad enough. The saying "delay, deny, until they die" makes so much sense. It is very unfortunate for Veterans.
  14. "To care for him who has borne the battle..." I agree with Tbird about forewarned is forearmed so I signed up for daily e-mails from the CBO.
  15. Hi Jefmil50,

Welcome to this club and thank you for joining!

The Lidwina incident is very interesting and it was so long ago.

I have read in various publications that Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is considered a "mystery disease" and I would have to agree.  No one knows what causes it and no one has a cure.  Many theories out there and many alleged "cures".  Very interesting to say the least.

Wow, I am happy you joined the club, thank you again!  😀

  16. Hi, Hope all is well. I kept my appeal in Legacy for several reasons; one VERY important reason is the fact I am afforded due process. I was recently told by peggy all appeals will be in RAMP in Feb 2019. Since I did not sign anything about RAMP will I still be entitled/afforded due process should my appeal come to that? My "has an office in a VA building" VSO is closed mouthed and it would be a waste of time to ask him. Thank you in advance. Hang in there everyone I hear Santa Claus may be coming to town. H
  17. I agree with Berta, this is a total outrage. Just a thought: perhaps one of the American Embassies could help in some way. Be safe. H
  18. Hi NavyCorpsman95, Great advice indeed. Last week I called Peggy who said my appeals case should be reviewed in about 400 days. So hilarious how "they" attempt to alarm Veterans like that. 400 days---okay, I do not plan on going anywhere. I will stay the Legacy course. Thank you again for your advice. H
  19. Hi LadyBoxBags, As someone on this excellent site once said to me: if you give up they (the VA) win. Don't give up. I have been waiting for my appeal to be sorted out but I WILL NOT GIVE UP. H You have come to the best, right, and true place for advice, encouragement, and support. Don't give up.
  20. Hi, I believe it is well past time to change my primary care doctor. Why? Hmmmmm, the doctor appears to be a flake who does not remember things I have told them. So my question is how does a Veteran request a new doctor without ruffling feathers? There is an epic rant involved with this situation but I will spare you all. Thank you.
  21. Hi, I checked my e-mail earlier and what in the world did my wondering eyes see? An e-mail from the VBA following up on their RAMP invitation. Hmmmm. Is it me or does this positively reek of desperation for their Pilot program? It is probably just cynical me. Any thoughts, opinions, and/or advice is always welcomed. Thank you. H
