tdiu C&p Exam When Permanent And Total?!?!?!?
recruiterrick replied to brandon-n-lisa's question in VA Disability Claims Research
I'm kind of confused. I am new here too, but how can 60% be permanent and total? Is it because of TDIU, and don't TDIU have to verify employment? I'm 100% P&T, this kinda has me worried. -
Can I Claim Alopecia Areata On My Va?
recruiterrick replied to annchez's question in VA Disability Claims Research
annchez, there are plenty of people on here who can and will help you. a person with one post hardly qualifies as an expert. please be patient, other more knowledgeable people will be glad to help you. when you ets or retire, whichever the case, you will need to outprocess through a veterans service officer who will advise on appying for VA benefits. Make sure the condition is documented in your medical records -

Original Claim Retro Pay
recruiterrick replied to redhead76's question in VA Disability Claims Research
all older va retro payments are suposed to be paid by november from what i have read and been told by dfas. "retro pay" is a term used to pay military retirees that amount withheld from our retirement. not sure if we are talking about the same thing -
when folks are discharged, they receive 2 copies of dd214; copy 1 and copy 4. copy 1 is a shorter form about 3/4's of a page with the bottom portion excluded. AR 601-210 standards for military enlistment has a list of all of these codes and their meaning. i'm sure all branchs have similar regulations. i've seen hundreds of dd214's from prior service applicants, and as long as the re-code is eligible for enlistment, the spd/spn code never really caused an issue for enlistment. the spd/spn code only applies to last period of service. when you reenlist the recode/ spn/spd is based on last period of service. i have had issues with spn/spd codes in the past, but haven't had any success getting one changed. i'm sure there are mistakes made, but i've never seen one changed. again, the spn/spd code is at the bottom of dd214, copy 4 (or next to the RE code). In most cases it will not be on dd214 copy 1. I would have never imagined that an spn/spd code on a dd214 of a honorably discharged veteran would cause problems with a VA claim

Is Crdp Backdated To Claim Award Date?
recruiterrick replied to cowgirl's question in VA Disability Claims Research
no. it is back dated to the date the new law was passed and then amended. as of now, as far as i know, it only applies to veterans rated at 50% and is being phased in over a 10 year period except for 100% ratings. there is legislation being considered that would make ligible any retiree who has a VA rated disability. stay tuned -
Help On Intrepreting Marine Vets Dd 214
recruiterrick replied to jessejames's question in VA Disability Claims Research
you can only base your advice and assistance on the information you have. and if you tell her that the awards and other evidence is not on the DD214, maybe she will quit driving you crazy. you may or may not tell her how to fix it. i probably would not if she is that annoying. send her to her local marine recruiter for assistance. LOL -
as i noted before, people leaving the military now are required to talk to a vso rep. i have not had any problems with the va because all of my disabilities were based on my medical records when i retired. i was originally rated at 30% for dysthymic disorder and 5 years later raised to 100% p&t based only on my smr's and va exams.

Help On Intrepreting Marine Vets Dd 214
recruiterrick replied to jessejames's question in VA Disability Claims Research
when i retired from the army, my dd214 was completed im may, i had terminal leave until 7/31/07. in september i got a package in the mail. it was a meritorious service medal. i didn't think nothin of it; with that medal and a buck twenty five, i could get a cup of cofee. in jan 2004 i sent for a dd215, no record of the msm. now i could take the time to take the msm out of the frame and send it to st. louis, but why. you can't assume that a DD214 is complete. and all veterans won't or don't take tim e to correct them in a timely manner. most do but some don't. -

Help On Intrepreting Marine Vets Dd 214
recruiterrick replied to jessejames's question in VA Disability Claims Research
the silver star and purple hearts would have been on his DD214. Since they were not, copies of the certificates or orders probably is enough to ask for a DD215 (correction of DD214). i don't know why he would only have 18 month actice duty but, he was eligible for reenlistment. Furthermore if we was a volunteer, he would have incurred a 6 year military service obligation. A discharge cerificate was probably sent to his home of record address on his DD214. i have known many people as you described that brag and claim awards and decorations that may or not be true. but in this case there may very well be more than meets the eyes. an 0311 is a basic rifleman. all marines are trained as 0311's that's why there basic is longer than any other service. 0311 would also be the primary occupation specialty for recon. also on the bottom, next to th re code should be another code spd/spn. this could help find out the reason for discharge a little easier -
i had a similar problem. i figured out that either the picture was to large or the resolution to high. try cropping the size or changing resolution. i actually had to select another picture

Reevaluation Of Issues
recruiterrick replied to recruiterrick's question in VA Disability Claims Research
there are lots of things i don't know about dealing with the VA. like what is so significant about 5 years. on my rating decision under furture exam dates it says none. does that not really mean anything? is that 5 years from the rating date or effective date -
congrats. please post your opinions on the mac as they come. i am also considering making the change

Reevaluation Of Issues
recruiterrick replied to recruiterrick's question in VA Disability Claims Research
jeez, that's a lot of money. 100% for major depression and from what i've read on hadit they don't like to mess with mental conditions and i haven't worked since the 100% award. i'm thinking i may just leave well enough alone. i love this web site. so many smart people. THANX -
Reevaluation Of Issues
recruiterrick replied to recruiterrick's question in VA Disability Claims Research
not sure what smc's are. lol -
if a person has 8 service connected issues; 100%, 10, 10, 10, 0, 0, 0, 0 but is beginning to have issues with some of the 10's and zeros, would he be smart to have them reevaluated or not. i'm actually kind of new dealing with the VA and I really don't want to mess up!

Navy Friend Needs Some Direction
recruiterrick replied to a question in VA Disability Claims Research
when i retired from the army in 1997, i simply just wanted to retire and GO- quickly. but one of the people that had to counsel me was a VSO rep. he asked me if i had any medical issues, and i told him no. he asked permission to review my medical records and had me sign a power of attorney. the point is, some VSO reps are more aggressive than others. Get a copy of C file first then I would shop around for an aggressive VSO rep. All transfer (seperation) points have them all as well as VA medical centers. I woud take my C file around to several or until I found one eager to help me By the way, that guy that helped me at Ft Lewis got %100 p&t schedule!!! -
100% p&t, service connected. i guess scheduler, since i'm not IU. are there other choices? LOL
