  1. the person who made this original post is a 60% rated veteran. in new mexico, veteran (not disabled veteran) are the same price as regular plates.
  2. i think it's best that they don't communicate without the veterans explicit consent. can you imagine the troubles if ecery time you went to a doctor, some one at VBA reviewed you r records and perhaps tripped across a way to interrupt your benefits.
  3. no one here thinks you're a dumb ass or fraud. the people here will only try to help you. they first need to understand what your rating was, what your rating is, and then try to help you fix it if possible. no one doubts your service or where you served. people here are on your side and don't try to offend. there are some very, very smart people here (not me).
  4. if you were medically discharged from the USMC and received the disability rating from military, and then subsequently awarded disability from the VA, amybe they are trying to help you. Could this be the case?
  5. next time you receive an email from them add them to your address book. ;)
  6. my computer downloaded 7 security updates 2 weeks ago. that seems to be when i started noticing problems. but not really a big deal
  7. berta, thanks for your service to vets here and everywhere. although i have only been a member of this site and received no help from anyone here on my claim, i understand exactly what you are saying. i see the posts asking for help, someone tries to help, then the story changes. and then it turns in to a pi@@ing contest. but you and people like you help so many and as a third party, just watching, thanks for all you do for oh so many veterans!!
  8. sure it is. happens all the time. juenile offenders who conceal their record are discharges under trainee discharge program, and are honorable discharges.
  9. they asked me how i got to a third c&p exam in long beach (contract psych).
  10. i am really compelled to add my cents on htis issue again. if you or someone you know has this character of service, this phone call is very important. i have seen hundreds of dd214's, both from the viet nam era and others more recent, and i recall seeing one maybe two of these. 22,000 people with this character of service is very, VERY fishy. by the way, the person or persons that i met with this character truly deserved it. the one most vivid in my memory was a service member who burned his girlfriends child with lit cigarettes intentionally. his girlfriend was also a service member and she reported him. this is the type of person who should receive this deal breaker!
  11. if you are 100% p&t is there a real need to have a copy of your c-file and smr? if there is and you ask for it, will this draw attention or raise a red flag of any kind at the va? are the only people who really need a copy the one ones who are still fighting with the va? i have a new copy of my medical records but have not asked for a copy of my cfile. that is the reason for the question.
  12. boy wouldn't that be wonderful. i am a crdp recipient and the president was not expected to sign that bill either. being 100%, i get all my retirement (minus child support- crap!!!) plus this new bill has to go the senate- right?
  13. not in my case. when i get into the website, it show's that i'm signed in. when i got to view new web posts, it maes me sign back in. my computer is online all the time, or in stand by however it is working the way it was before now. at first i thought something like you describe, but it happened several times yesterday and the computer was on all day. wierd.
  14. after the divorce take the divorce decree to the nearest tri-care office. that'll do it.
  15. remarry her is the simplest. the gov't has to honor a divorce decree and if it is not so staed in the decree, they won't do it. be careful of amending the divorce decree
  16. my dauhter did. it caused me some discomfort because when she applied, they paid her retroactively to the date of my award but i had been claiming her as a dependent on my award. it cost me $3000. it appears you situation is not the same though. had to edit because of all of these drugs LOL
  17. "Service medical records indicate the following concerning the disability: 4-8-97 -diagnosis of rule out copd, 4-15-97 -a pulmonary function test indicated a an FEVI of 94% and indicated that a small airway disease was suggested. VA examination on 10-3-97 indicated a diagnosis of copd secondary to tobacco use. The examiner indicated the disease was manifest by a shortness of breath." I retired 7-30-97, and the above was listed on my initial rating decision dated 03/05/98. i hope this answers your questions. if you need more info tell me, and i'll try to get it for you B)
  18. P-38 OR JOHN WAYNE. Boy, that was a long time ago!
  19. my experience was in long beach, ca. i was pursueing vocational rehab when i got rated 100% p&t. i asked my vso and he said to drop the voc rehab because it would surely impact on my disabity rating. i don't know the answer to your particular circumstances, but this was my experience B)
  20. depends on your disability rating and how long you've been married, i think.
  21. as i stated in a previous post ( i think!) i am service connected for copd (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease effective the date of my military retirement. this was based on my my retirement physical and the initial c&p exam
  22. although i am younger than 50, i remember c-rats and by the way i am service connected for copd.
  23. i just got my dad's air force dd214 from nprc. it took less than 2 months. maybe you should try that.
