  1. I was reading your info, all I can tell you is to submit what they want. I do not believe that you will be able to talk to a rater. Also if you are SC for your knee problems I think that you can get 100% temporarily for up to 13 months. I had a friend who had some type of knee injury and he was awarded the 100% quit the job and requested unemployability increase. I hope this helps your frustation. Welcome to the club. Just dont give up, give them what they want, its money in the bank waiting to be withdrawn. Izzy
  2. Thank you Berta for posting the VA Website, I have a Neurological Test today and did not have a clue of what they were looking for, I think that it is for my migraines, I am trying to get it increase to 50%, it's a battle of words from the first evaluation. Thanks again. Izzy
  3. This is what I can tell you, do your reserch on what they will asked you, I was trying for find the forms that VA sends the doctors to make an evaluation but could not find it. Maybe someone else knows were to find it. It's better to know than to show up blind and the question hit you blindsided. Izzy
  4. Follow up, with Comprehensive Mental Health Program Well I was very surprise, at first I felt that I was getting the run around because I was told to follow a person then that person did not find a room and I was told to go back to the waiting area, then my vitals were taken by some lady that calls her self an RN but she is the worst RN that I have ever dealt with. Then things changed, I got a good Psychiatric Dr. and I follow Larry advice to tell her about my stressors and she told me that she would help me but first we needed to build my file. I also had an interview with a psychologist counselor and was very positive, overall it was good. Thanks for the advice, oh and yes I was given some forms to fill out to have someone sign for me or be responsible for me, which I took home. Izzy

    100% P&t

Thank you luvHIM, this info is good to know so one would not drop their hands in this fight and get sucker punched by VA. :)
  6. Thank you so much purple and John :) I dont want my son to go through any problems or any shocks because of my fault, I am not suicidal so I will be "vewy vewy careful" like Elmer Fudge says when he is after Bugs Bunny. You guys put is like is a scary movie, please do not take it offensive, for me is an eye wakening. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Izzy

    100% P&t

Carlie, I probably know that you have answer this question 1K times but I would have to be looking in every thread. When a 100% P&T is protected? Izzy
  8. Congrats Shortpig, I dont know if some of the great member of this forum has told you but, in the letter they (VA) tell you why they did not rate you at 50%, when preparing your NOD, you should evaluate this information becuase maybe when you went to your appt. you actually had more symptoms of PTSD and they did not recorded them. Izzy
  9. Thank you purple for your positive advice, I was not told by anybody to bring a family member but like I stated to Carlie in the thread, it encouraged me to bring a family member. The only one that I could bring is my son because he is the only adult that could accompany me but I would hate to expose him to this issue and my wife does not speak English and she does not like to go to me to VA because she feels sorry for all the veterans there and she gets very depressed. I might have him drive me there and tell him to pick me up at a later time.
  10. Hello Calie, CMHP is Comprehensive Mental Health Program and the form states "intake appointment" The generic form states the following "During this appointment, you will be seen by your physician, a clinic nurse and other members of the treatment team" They are encouraging to bring a family member and that the appointment should take between 2-3 hours. Any inside information that you or anyone might have on this issue, I dont want to get blind sided because, on May 20, I have a QTC appt. for my PTSD and on May 22 I have one for my TBI, this is new because I was never rated or even told that such rating existed. Izzy
  11. Hello to everyone The other day I went to an appt with a Mental Health intern, after a while she believe that I was suicidal and called the Psychiatrist at the emergecy room and explained my situation. Iwas taken to the emergency room and after talking with the Psy Doc, and answering all his questions, specially if I had a gun, he decided that I could go home. He schedule for me to attend a CMHP, and Iwas reading the paper and it says that I should be ready to be there like two to three hours and they encourage me to bring a family member. The only person that can go with me is my son. Any advise, should I take my son or should I have my son drive me there and tell them that noone in my family wanted to be with me in such group? Is this good for my MDD? I will be going to an appt for TBI and PTSD in a week. Izzy
  12. Hello Wings My advice like the other is to take a deep breath, and continue to fight, I read some of the advices, but I did not see one to contact your Congressman and tell him or her the injustice that these people are doing. I had a case that was remanded and I was given the run around, I wrote my Congressman and within a year from the Congressman getting involved my situation was resolved favorally on my behalf. Hang in there and keep on trucking. Izzy
  13. Hello militarynurse welcome I read somewhere that these test dont actually mean anything because even if they do not find any injury or bruise or blood clogged they cannot state that you do not get migraine or that you suffer from TBI. The best thing is read the info for TBI and anything that you can get on migraine and get very knowledgeable on both subjects, because when you get evaluated they will do and ask many test and questions. I will try and find it. Izzy
  14. Hello Carlie, I cannot get it, I click on it and gave me an Hadit error, then I copied the link and paste it in the web address area and sent me back to the Hadit webpage without errors. Do I have to look for something specific? Izzy
  15. I have one on May 20 and on May 22 one for TBI with QTC I am also in Houston Izzy
  16. Hello poolguy11550 When I read your info, I said Wow, because I have a friend who is a RN and she thinks that Dr. Patel is the greatest Dr. ever. For my Knee condition I had Dr. Nwora he was kind of "iffy" he said that he did not had X-Rays to see my knees and did the normal "does it hurt hear and there?'" and check my knee for stability and told me to lift the lower part of my leg and stop until it hurt. That was it, not measurements, ah and asked me were I worked. My next appt is with Dr. Bryan Frazier for TBI, Migraines. The Migraine part is a revisit to see if they can increase my %, currently I am at 30%. The other is with Dr. Peraino, Joseph, this one I do not know but I think that it is for PTSD. Do you know how I can find out what this Dr. is seeing me for? on the form it states "SPC:PSC" Izzy
  17. Hello to everyone Recently I submitted a C&P evaluation for bilateral knees problem, remember I was at 10% and some crazy VA C&P Dr. discovered the cure for degenerate joint disease and requested that I be downgraded to 0% which VA did. I also requested a new C&P for TBI because I was never told that I could qualify for such compensation, not even my VSO told me. Now VA is sending me to get all my medical test but at a private facility with private doctors, they are even giving me a big $28 for my travel to that location. Anyone know why VA is taking this step and why they are not sending me to the VA Hospital? Any advice? Today I went to get my knees check, I filled the questionar the Dr. did a few checks and said OK, you can go. ;) My next one is for TBI and I do not know what the other one is for, but both are with a private DR. Thank you for your time. Oh by the way I am at Houston, Texas, therefore is not the distance. Izzy
  18. Hello medders464 You need to post the questions if not the great members of this forum cannot guide you. Izzy
  19. I had to do the same Carlie, don't feel bad. Sometimes is difficult to figure out these things. B) Izzy
  20. Hello Ms. Berta, I was reading this comment and I was wondering if you know of have information about dealing with private Dr.'s that VA schedule for appointments. Next week I am schedule to see a private doctor for my knee conditions, I was rated at 10% for degenerative joint disease of both needs and was downgraded to 0% because the VA Dr. at the C&P said that I got better and that I didn't complained of pain to my Clinic Doctor at VA. Any advice other than what my DAV rep told me to insure that I told them that it hurts, which they do, but I was a little confused. Izzy
  21. Hello Carlie I was asked by a VSO if I had receive the letter for TBI. I was never rated for TBI, currently I have 50% for Brain Syndrome which includes Dementia, PTSD and depresion. I filled for TBI through the VONAPP, am I correct by doing so or the Brain Syndrome is the same as TBI? and if not I have documentation that states that I had a TBI in the military, should I apply for Retro since that time? Thank you for your time Izzy
  22. Hello Carlie Do you have the long URL, if so could you paste it so the new Vets on this can benefit. This short URL is not working at all. Thnaks Izzy
  23. Hello Carlie Could you believe that they actually decreased my rating from 10% to 0%, I just found the paperwork, I guess my mind is really messed up. I went to DAV and complained about it, I have an appointment next week for my knee degenerative joint disease. Any advise, it is going to be done at a private facility, it will not be done at the VA Hospital. Izzy
