  1. Hacarlton, congratulations on getting your hard earned compensation and looks like you are staying on top of it. IRIS is a recordable communication tool I use often as well. The new change is interesting stuff. My earlier effective date was well beyond the 8 year window but isnt anywhere near the dollars listed. My thoughts, some type of audit should be set up to 'double check' the compensation was correctly and complelely paid. Added caveat for retirees is CRDP, more fun. Curious, I did request an audit and was given a breif letter response that all was in order, no number details though. I havent seen RonII around for awhile here, he was really good with how the numbers worked. Best to ya, Cowgirl'up2009!
  2. Troy I'm glad you and this welldeserving vet were able to hang in there to get the justice due. My heart breaks for those that struggle on or give up due to exhaustion. I'd be lost and near hopeless if not for Hadit. Best to ya, Cowgirl
  3. Hoppy - well stated. Good reminder for me to see if in my case the doctor" noted" I was applying for PTSD claim. Could be my request for a letter would be my only support - but of course that'd need to state 'the specific' medical issue, in my case just happens to be 'ptsd'. Cya with official paperwork or records, either submitted by the vet, acceppted, responded to or filed in the VA files. Be nice to have Official VA ombudsman IG Type oversight board for the Veteran reassurances in the New Medical Coverage speech 'don't worry you'll still keep your VA benefits coverage" as announced with much ambition tonight. Again, Hoppy, clearly stated and good discussion, IMHO Cg'up2009!
  4. What grand news along with a new moon, it must be a sign! So glad the compensation and associated benefits were made available to you - God Bless! Cowgirl'up2009!
  5. Can anyone tell me what specific form(s) or data the VA requests from the Social Security office for IU claims? Does the VA request a 'Official Release' copy of SSA 'detailed' doctor notes? or will they simply accept the SSA decision with diagnosis and phsycian signature? Was told Claim is on hold for, SSA info and one more comp exam report, then its up to the DRO. Odd, I submitted a copy of the SSA decision form months ago, should be 'official' enough I think. Thank you, Cg'up2009!
  6. Oh Bronco, my family and I too will pray for your son, his troop and the loss of his unit brothers. I almost didn't read this post because of its title, but am thankful I did. A fathers love like yours is wonderous, God Bless you and yours. Cowgirl & family
  7. Great discussion, I agree 'ask'. Does the better statement go something like this ? While not specifying the 10%, it doesnt limit it either. It is an appeal, do add the particulars. example Request increase for xxxx and the highest rating possible for this specific ---------(by name) condition. Hope this helps, Best to ya, Cg
  8. Sharon, what do you mean by 'did they address .... ideations?'. Does this mean simply discussing or having a yes or no answer? Just went through ptsd exam myself, any wisdom on this? Are there special 'item's listed in the rating descriptions 'key' to approval? Thank you, (and do tell everyone what a Tar Heel is!) Cowgirl (sometimes even I drink ice tea from a mason jar cup - visited N.Carolina and saw that :o !
  9. heard some 'representatives' are paid outta the state coffers, that doesn't bother me. I wouldn't give them any money. I belong to a few veteran organizations, pay my dues, which in turn supports gaming licensing and community events. Since the groups do well in charity contributions and since I am in a budget minded family, it all balances out.
  10. YeeeeeeHaaaawwww!! Love to hear the rain ping around here for iu. Makes ya sorta want to add Jbasser to your will, eh? :D I am so happy that you are recieving whats due you and what you need. Amen! Cowgirl'up2009! B)
  11. If you the patient 'complains' or 'describes' or 'reports' pain, that should be it. Benefit of the doubt. If you have a injury, you get medical care, its because it got worse. Husband attended exam, what freindly professionalism he heard contrasted with 'snippets of truth' used in the minimalistic exam report produced. IMO - if there is pain mentioned, that indicates and active problem or even a past problem - not medical here, but know pain. Tell em you need 10% minimum, Best to ya, prayers and safe driving, cowgirl
  12. Hope it works out for you,cg If I can't read the latest soft gray worded newsletter from a politician - I do a select all, copy, paste into Word, select all, change font to normal or bold.ta dah!
  13. Timely post, just finished conversation with husband few minutes ago on the same subject. Tiny pills are hard to split. Will post how it works out. Cg'up2009!
  14. Thanks Berta, we'll see how it unfolds, least I'll share what works (or doesn't). Rechecked to see if 'probably' was the word used - sure enuf! B) Have a good one, Cg'up2009!
  15. Clown man - sorry, PD was my insert for, yup you know, 'Personality disorder'- that's what it said "probably personality disorder with features" - sure sounds like a big picture show with 'features" written that way. Could be I'm my own star? Hmpf. Gotta research , could be PTSD with MST wasn't a consideration those years. Thank you everyone for feedback, Keepin my bootscootin boots on for now..... Cg'up2009!
  16. Carlie, Oh, I see the BVA. Just wondering do you have constant ROM issues or variable episodes? Is there anything in your SMRs that show other measurements of ROM? Have you been in traction lately for your neck, did that include a shoulder evaluation? I too have shoulder bursitis, the rain reminds me and I don't have limitations everyday, just often, especially with putting on seatbelts, lifting laundry or hanging curtains. Thinking the best for ya, Cg'up2009!
  17. Okay, I've reread my oldest files and feel smart & stupid at the same time. I need to make a statement here - I ain't against men. Part of me will always be on the mend because of some men though. Hope that makes sense. The stressors and information in my SMRs were listed on first claim. Results of that claim says negative for 'ongoing psychiatric disorder', its wordy, but does discuss a few PTSD stressors. Then it rips up the facts - saying full recovery, no current impairment, acute problems resolved without residual impairment. The c&p exam for this claim caused me nightmares. The c&p hireadoc used lots of words said, 'provisional diagnosis of dysthymia' and 'probably has PD with features'. The exam words and decision was so awful, negative and insutling, I felt no claim hope and beat myself up inside for years from that. On a seperate appeal later, for lumbar and other things - VA sc me 10% for psychophysiological reaction 'emotional tension or anxiety productive of mild social and industrial impairment' psycho babble relating seperation physical "medical history' noted complaints of 'anxiety' Several years later, checked for ptsd during routine pcp visit. Referred to mh clinic, thats good. Recieved counseling at VA for said stressors, depression. Ok, so I applied for ptsd and was again cheaply denied with "A diagnosis of PTSD is stated inprovisional diagnosis of rule out ptsd on the basis of your subjective reports of traumatic experience upon ptsd screen'. Advised to go for MDD, the stressors were resubmitted in more detail even - I was SC for MDD but only to date of claim. The way I see it, mh, MDD or ptsd - I requested mh SC right after service and needed help then. Smart I have records - stupid missing years SC. Cowgirl, got the blues B) today.
  18. You are right, I'm not setting a good example of patience. Smiles! Just sounding thi gs out among Hadit freinds. It's because of Hadit, I've suceeded in eed once before Thanks again Pete, you're terrific Cowgirl
  19. Thanks Ricky for interpeting their wording from the decsision. I don't understand 'to provide verification of a stressor'. Everything I have is in my Cfile. I will be researching it. In the first claim I listed the incident(s) info & dates of care. Its clearly in my SMRs. Yeah, there was a clear diagnosis for this claim, examiner agreed. I feel in my gut it'll be sc. But whats next, who knows? Thank you~! Cg'up2009!
  20. Jbasser, thank you for your response. Yes, it was before VCAA and before I had many clues about the process to get help for my condition. Cg
  21. On my first claim years ago I requested for many things, and ptsd, the diagnosis was in my SMRs. I didn't word it well on the claim so it was 'ignored' I didn't work the claim like needed. Many years later, my counselor led me to believe I had ptsd, I specifically applied for sc but got turned down.. "A diagnosis of PTSD is stated inprovisional diagnosis of rule out ptsd on the basis of your subjective reports of traumatic experience upon ptsd screen."(denial) no VA exam, diagnosis or private diagnosis. Didn't appeal. Now VA has clearly diagnosed me with PTSD, in for sc now. I am thinking earlier effective date, but need the correct approach, anyone? Thank you~! Cg'up2009!
  22. Pete, what do you mean ? Is your interpetation : If veteran has diagnosis of PTSD in SMRs or personnel records then it can be SC for compensation now? Or? I miss thinking straight sometimes, Yours ~! Cowgirl "
  23. excuse, there's no excuse if there's proof or law. PD - my foot! silent on Mst(s) - my other foot.
  24. John, do you have a copy of the C&P? Makes me curious. Yes, on letting the doc know theres need for diagnosis and treatment - if ya don't tell em they won't know. Even if they knew you had something - no complaints or questions, all's good to them. Know some vets complain of all the tests they're put through, seems inconsistent to me anyway. Best to ya, Cg'up2009!
  25. This is good discussion, I have had ddd in my records but am not rated for it. Kimo, I'll keep reading and hope it goes well for you. Welcome to Hadit and thank you for your service!! Cowgirl'up2009!
