  1. I know it's just proposed at this point but at least we're seeing some progress! See that it rules out hypertension, peripheral vascular disease and stroke. "Therefore, for purposes of this regulation, the term ``IHD'' includes, but is not limited to, acute, subacute, and old myocardial infarction; atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease including coronary artery disease (including coronary spasm) and coronary bypass surgery; and stable, unstable and Prinzmetal's angina. Since the term refers only to heart disease, it does not include hypertension or peripheral manifestations of arteriosclerosis such as peripheral vascular disease or stroke."
  2. Have a claim in for HTN as related to my PTSD right now....we'll see what happens.
  3. Yes, rumors that the proposed will be posted 25March2010 8:45am
  4. "Thursday 25March2020" You do mean 2010...right?
  5. Great news B6! Now you can relax a bit.
  6. Completely different subject but it is far too little. If I should ever get 100%, it's doubtful I'd make the 10 year waiting period and I know it will be very difficult for my wife to survive. She keeps saying she must go first but I don't want that. Before somebody says it...we did plan, as everybody should, then got wiped out when we both went thru long periods of unemployment. Now we start again.
  7. I agree with you Pete. I've never felt like I've had poor treatment. I posted these links so AO vets could see that the VA is doing something. There will be so many new claims going in. It's good to see that they are trying to come up with a way to move them thru the system quickly. What I'm not happy about is the fact that they are taking so long to get the regulations in place and get started. AO vets need to see some progress. It's the waiting and wondering that makes people think they aren't being cared about. I'm sure this is going to be a nightmare with so many denied claims over the years but they need to start something. If they had the regulations in place, the VA could start processing the old/denied claims for compensation and DIC right away.
  8. I wasn't here in Nov. but it's really nice to read your feelings. I'm happy to hear that things are going well for you now.
  9. Carlie, I've had questions about the difference between a NOD and a Reconsideration...great links! Thanks.
  10. Try this link for more info on the class action: http://www.vawatchdog.com/09/nf09/nfjan09/nf012809-3.htm
  11. Hey Jack, At the top of your page on the far right the button "Options" allows you to switch your viewing options. Sorry, I haven't heard anything about the class action.
  12. It's good to hear that others feel as I do. If they want to automate claims, fine...but get started doing something now! The need to get regs done and get to work on the claims that have already been filed. Vets and families have been waiting for far too long!
  13. Just found the following information...new to me: Here's a link to the article: http://fcw.com/articles/2010/03/10/va-auto...processing.aspx Here's a link to the VA fast-track news release: http://www.veterans.ny.gov/pdf/fast-track.pdf
  14. Figured out I could use reply & new topic if I toggle to standard so I've move my info to a new AO topic. Can't wait to hear comments.
  15. Mike, Sounds like good news so congratulations on that much! Once I received my letter it was only a week or so and I had money in hand. Don't have any idea how long it took the VA to get the letter to me after the actual approval though.
  16. Best wishes Hawkfire27! Interesting that you would get a call on Sunday. Hope this means they will continue to move things along quickly for you.
  17. Vync, I don't know about the security clearance stuff. The site has a contact info link where you can get phone numbers, etc. to contact them. You could try checking that.
  18. Jeff, Check out the following link as this may have something to do with when you were in the service: http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-...ds/medical.html
  19. Congrats on your successful claim! All your work did the job! Well done!
  20. His determination letter should give you all the fact, such as the effective date and his current rating, so you can figure this all out.
  21. I was put on 150 mg every 12 hours for smoking cessation, along with Zoloft for my PTSD. I started having 2-3 panic attacks per day approximately 2-3 weeks after starting it.
  22. Hawk, Thank you for submitting this information. I recently requested my records. I typed out a list of the records I was looking for on Word prior doing my online submission..that way I could cut/paste the information easily. I have received notification per email that they have received my request and faxed signature form. The email said it will take approx. 4-6 weeks to receive my records. Hopefully I will receive all of the information I've requested.
  23. Acesup, Excellent information. I may be looking for an IMO in the near future so I've found your information very helpful.
  24. AKWidow Thank you so much for sharing your information with us. There is a lot to be learned from your experience. Congratulations on your 'hard earned' success.
