Hi,
I'm new on this forum and very clunky in navigating around the topics....I have posted questions and do not get any responses. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I have questions on how to file a claim for MST.
I know I can call the VA and ask questions on what they need to file or a local Vet center, but wondering where can I get the best advice and resources once I make the call. Does Hadit have a 1800 number to get advice...if not where do you recommend I start?

Try searching other MST postings on Hadit. If you still have trouble, send me a msg, we can discuss a few solutions.
Do you have access to your MHV & E-Benefits page?
If you don't have access or haven't set them up yet, do so ASAP at your VMC Vet Learning Center.
You can go on the VA Site and start your MST Claim on the VONAPP Claims site. Just starting it, locks in a Retro Date. so do it right away.

I did search MST and sent at least three messages asking questions and it's been a week or two and no response. That is why I just randomly reached out to see if anyone would respond so thanks for the response. I do have access on MHV and I wasn't aware you could apply that easily. I had read on the MST threads that you couldn't apply for MST unless you needed a diagnosis and that is why I was wanting direction on the best resource to contact to ask specific questions on the criteria for the diagnosis etc. I guess I will just call the VA and ask a benefits coordinator that question and my only reservation in doing that was because they are not always there to help the veteran and to see if there was a better advocate to call. Thanks again for the direction!

I followed a Vet's (? Navy Nurse?) MST Claim for a good portion of 2015, she had a successful outcome. I'll reference a few of her posts later on.
If you haven't done so, you need to get a PTSD/MST referral to your VMC MH Dept. If I'm not mistaken, All MST Awards are processed as a PTSD Claim. Have you viewed the VA PTSD/MST DBQ?
Do you have an E-Benefits Account? Have you Officially started an MST or PTSD Claim yet?
You can go on the VA.gov website, link to VONAPP Claims Filing and start your Claim Today. You don't need to complete the Claim today, but you establish a File Date for Retroactive Payments. Why lose a Month's or more Retro Pay by waiting till after 4/30/17.
You don't need to talk to anyone at the VA or Vet Service Org. to start your on-line application today or tomorrow, just do it yourself.
