ptsd Non-combat Related Ptsd Claims

Anyone ever file or know of a non-combat related PTSD compensation claim arising from a serious accident stressor like a car crash, motorcycle accident or military equipment failure etc.? What happened with the claim?

sorry hit return... ok this accident happen off base ..the city that it happen in his huge so they will have like so many police stations? the newspaper might have it and might not.. what else can i do? what will the va do in serching for this..its in my smrs;s twice but like you said it just my words unless i have a police or newspaper report?

I was reading in my local newspaper about a Iraq vet who got a TBI but did not report if for a few months because he wanted to stay with his troops. Now the VA military says he can't prove the TBI resulted from the two IED blasts he was in, nor the other injuries he got in Iraq. He hurt his shoulder and neck and the military and VA say he can't prove it happened in Iraq. This is what you are up against. All he wanted was a PH, and they denied it.

yea i understand..i went to tmc the day after it happen and then agian about 4 months later for my back hurting... i tried the local newsaper and police department no records...this sucks now it my word .. even though i have non combat ptsd diagnose for a accident 4 years ago which the va will use agqinst me..

Generally, a big city has one police dept but many stations/precincts(sp). The records are generally stored centrally. You need to call(or write) their main number and talk to records. Newspapers sometimes carry their own archives and if not the library may have them. I doubt the VA will help.

Get on the phone and start calling. I suggest that you check with State and State Police and than County Sheriff and than local cops. Someone will be able to help you.Don't expect the VA to help you on this claim. If you can't prove the accident or stressor the only other thing possible is to prove that a secondary problem like depression of panic disorder originated while you were in service.

i called the police and they checked and their is no record that they can find? it was a serious acciedent so the newspaper might not hae it..... secondary prove of depression or panic never seen a theripist till about 5 years ago and it from the recent accdent... even though i have started a new private theriapist and told him my deprssion and panic started from my service car accident and medical problems and tha my recent accident was a excuse to talk about it
