I finally won back in '99 when the Seattle VA adjudication officer retired. Also, having the Disabled American Veterans' service officer Michelle Colpaert obviously helped. Not to mention that my appeal to Senator Slade Gorton seemed to have lit a fire under their dead butts. Senator Patty Murray D WA is a good person to contact, as she's influential in Veterans' Affairs. Never quit, never surrender!

thanks for the info

the lawyer did ask for hearing but never got one with DRO which the 800 # tells husband his appeal is there @ office since 4-2010

lawyer is also working on SSD said can take up to 14 months husband has been turned down 2 times in a year

it would just be nice to hear something from the VA 800# beside the same-o-same-o

so I guess it just going to take years with the DRO just like it does to use the BVA. Hello I am taking over for my wife she get a little confused with computers, to answer your question I did try to contact the FL State Rep. but I had no reply as of yet, when we move from KY to FL all we did was transfer the claim over, I meet the criteria for PTSD that they require now and I was told that the DRO would be quicker so I went with it. I am getting tire of ST. Pete excuses for why they wont grant me compensation. Can anybody give me any advise on what to do to get this DRO off of his butt to look at my appeal

Thank you Dennis Pribble

I am in the St Pete RO. There is nothing you can do really to speed them up. Do you have a lawyer on the case? Why were you denied the first time if you meet the criteria for PTSD? The way I did it with St Pete was I got a new medical opinion every time I was denied for anything. I never went for an appeal without new evidence to rebutt exactly what I had been denied for the first time. So the VA has DX'ed you with PTSD? The DRO is quicker than the BVA in my experience. What are you basing your PTSD claim on? I know the criteria for PTSD has changed in the last few years. You must have a VA diagnosis of PTSD. You don't need the verifiable stressor, but I bet if you have combat badge or PH it would help.
