New Beginning Registering For Va Mental Health Ptsd Mdd Psychotic Features

Question

Well today I called the Va to start mental health treatment. I was informed that I needed to register with patient services. So either today or tomorrow I will go to the mental health clinic to begin treatment. So after I go down there and see if I can be seen and helped I will update the results. Prozac seems to only help me be more social. It does nothing for my violent side. So I plan to stay in treatment until I get this mental situation under control.

Well I'm starting to leave the house. But only to see my buddy when he needs help. Low key I feel like a madman. My hands shake violently my head always hurt everyday. When the room is quiet my dam ears are ringing it's enough to drive anybody insane. I'm trying my best to be KOOL and filter myself back in society. But it seems like evil is all around me. Everybody seems like a threat. My breathing s funny. Nobody really knows this but I'm a fuse waiting to blow. Soooo I think it will be a while before I go back out again if I do I will only visit family. I hope I'm not being to explicit the last thing I wanna do is trigger somebody. If I do I apologize. I gotta let this out some type of way. This is the only place I can vent my inner desires this is a place where they understand my madness. My head feels like its ready to explode!!!!!

WELL I believe seraquel is rubbing me the wrong way. My tongue hurt and my throat is extra scratchy. Also I have bad foot and leg pain. It all seem like it started when I started taking the seraquel. Sooooo bye bye seraquel. I been taking Prozac and prazosin seems like with no problems. The prozasin have erased my dreams as far as I can remember last night I don't take the seraquel my tongue seems like its not hurting as much. Hopefully this stops my hurting mouth and throat and stop all me muscle cramps. July 10. Vocational rehabilitation appointment. Hmmmmm. Oh well I will tell my doctor what's GOIN on with my medicine.

Seroquel is great at causing dry mouth and throat - bone dry like a desert.

Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed.

Well I went in to mental health today and told them about my seraquel problem. They switched my medicine to divalproex. Mood stabilizer. She said she was mainly concerned about my violent tendecies. Soooo now it's Prozac prazosin and divalproex. Hopefully I get the right combination so I can start leaving the house and quit being violent. Yes I'm still locked in me bloody room for now. Low key my head is always hurting mainly by my eyes and I'm still having pain in my leg from hip to groin all the way to my middle toes. Yeah to tell y'all the truth I feel like a madman. This mourning when I woke up it look like I ways laying in small black bugs. As I full woke up yes hallucination. Somewhat creepy but I guess I'm going to have to get use to all this. I believe I go to PTSD clinic next month. Well that's it for now.

Well I had to stop divalproex it was giving me stomach pains. SEREQUEL side affects is starting to leave my body. With serequel my entire tongue became raw like in pain. Also my hip to my middle toes started hurting. My body is going back to normal now that I have let them go. I'm up to 4 Prazosin and I'm taking my Prozac at night. So I won't be sleepy through the day. My doctor at kaiser told me to do this. He told me I should pick who I want to be my psychiatrist either the va or kaiser. Well to tell yall the truth I don't completely trust the va yet. So I'm staying with kaiser and since the va gave me the same PILLZ kaiser gave me I think I'm just going to get my medicine from kaiser yes I'm paraniod they might try to poison me. I don't know really I'm just rolling with the flow of things. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a bad miserable dream that I can't escape from. Ok without my mood stabilizers I feel a little bit more on the violent side. Yes I'm still locked in my house. I only really go to my doctor appointments. So yes I'm still in my home made prison. I'm just glad I made the first step in getting help. The way I was living with my anger I was headed to the grave or to jail. So at least I'm headed in the right direction no matter what they diagnose me with I couldnt keep going in the direction I was going in. THANX for providing me a p,ace to vent.

    • These decisions have made a big impact on how VA disability claims are handled, giving veterans more chances to get benefits and clearing up important issues.

      Service Connection

      Frost v. Shulkin (2017)
This case established that for secondary service connection claims, the primary service-connected disability does not need to be service-connected or diagnosed at the time the secondary condition is incurred 1. This allows veterans to potentially receive secondary service connection for conditions that developed before their primary condition was officially service-connected.

      Saunders v. Wilkie (2018)
The Federal Circuit ruled that pain alone, without an accompanying diagnosed condition, can constitute a disability for VA compensation purposes if it results in functional impairment 1. This overturned previous precedent that required an underlying pathology for pain to be considered a disability.

      Effective Dates

      Martinez v. McDonough (2023)
This case dealt with the denial of an earlier effective date for a total disability rating based on individual unemployability (TDIU) 2. It addressed issues around the validity of appeal withdrawals and the consideration of cognitive impairment in such decisions.

    • I met with a VSO today at my VA Hospital who was very knowledgeable and very helpful.  We decided I should submit a few new claims which we did.  He told me that he didn't need copies of my military records that showed my sick call notations related to any of the claims.  He said that the VA now has entire military medical record on file and would find the record(s) in their own file.  It seemed odd to me as my service dates back to  1981 and spans 34 years through my retirement in 2015.  It sure seemed to make more sense for me to give him copies of my military medical record pages that document the injuries as I'd already had them with me.  He didn't want my copies.  Anyone have any information on this.  Much thanks in advance.

    • Caluza Triangle defines what is necessary for service connection
Caluza Triangle – Caluza vs Brown defined what is necessary for service connection. See COVA– CALUZA V. BROWN–TOTAL RECALL

This has to be MEDICALLY Documented in your records:

Current Diagnosis.   (No diagnosis, no Service Connection.)

      In-Service Event or Aggravation.
Nexus (link- cause and effect- connection) or Doctor’s Statement close to: “The Veteran’s (current diagnosis) is at least as likely due to x Event in military service”

    • Do the sct codes help or hurt my disability rating
    • VA has gotten away with (mis) interpreting their  ambigious, , vague regulations, then enforcing them willy nilly never in Veterans favor.

They justify all this to congress by calling themselves a "pro claimant Veteran friendly organization" who grants the benefit of the doubt to Veterans.

      This is not true,

      Proof:

About 80-90 percent of Veterans are initially denied by VA, pushing us into a massive backlog of appeals, or worse, sending impoverished Veterans "to the homeless streets" because  when they cant work, they can not keep their home.  I was one of those Veterans who they denied for a bogus reason:  "Its been too long since military service".  This is bogus because its not one of the criteria for service connection, but simply made up by VA.  And, I was a homeless Vet, albeit a short time,  mostly due to the kindness of strangers and friends.

Hadit would not be necessary if, indeed, VA gave Veterans the benefit of the doubt, and processed our claims efficiently and paid us promptly.  The VA is broken.

A huge percentage (nearly 100 percent) of Veterans who do get 100 percent, do so only after lengthy appeals.  I have answered questions for thousands of Veterans, and can only name ONE person who got their benefits correct on the first Regional Office decision.  All of the rest of us pretty much had lengthy frustrating appeals, mostly having to appeal multiple multiple times like I did.

I wish I know how VA gets away with lying to congress about how "VA is a claimant friendly system, where the Veteran is given the benefit of the doubt".   Then how come so many Veterans are homeless, and how come 22 Veterans take their life each day?  Va likes to blame the Veterans, not their system.
