some drugs are so strange, they seem to go into a very primal part of the brain and create or release very morbid and raw thoughts and emotions. That tramadol made me dream very disturbing things that made no sense. it all stopped after I quit taking them.

Rather than continuing going thru that, I think I would take my chances on a few nervous breakdowns, and see if I could get the demon by the horns. If not, then back to the clouds.

Yeah I tripped out a couple times one medicine had me dreaming of straight emotional stuff about my family I was almost in tears by the mourning. I had tramadol before that had me feeling sick like my mouth was going numb. I'm just prepared to spend the rest of my lif in the house just minding my own BIZNEZZ that's what seems to work for me me and big crowds do not mix

I used to fish a little but you need a boat where I am at to get to places around Tampa Bay. I have one money pit already so I don't need another. If I lived on a lake it would be nice, but I fish salt water being on the bay. I have seen guys pull in some astounding snook from shore within a few miles of downtown Tampa fishing in four feet of water. These fish get huge and will hang out around pilings and docks trying to catch little fish. I saw this guy catch one three feet long on spinning rod with a lure like a flashing spoon. Huge sea trout also hang out in canals on Davis Island in winter. I caught a huge one on a mirror lure years ago. Now it is all private property and I can't get back there. Florida was truly heaven for fisherman 50 years ago before population explosion. It still is for some if you can just get to where the fish are like those big redfish. You hook into a 30lb redfish and you will think you have Moby Dick.John

Yeah I love fishing I hope to spend the rest of my life fishing

I just wish it would quit snowing here in Texas, so I can actually go fishing. I live on one of the best lakes in Tx, yet only been 2 times in 2 years. Happy Early Birthday, mine is in a few weeks.

Thanx I love fishing TEXAS I be in TEXARKANA the fishing is excellent there

Bros,

Do what you gotta do but those pills can be dangerous business like what you're talking about. The 2 times I tried taking myself out were while on pills man. 63SIERRA yes...morbid thoughts are correct while on those. Throw alcohol on top of them and you have a recipe for hell. There's other ways to deal with demons of the past. Peace brothers, be well.

If I sleep more than four hours I get wicked nightmares. I wake up exhausted. I wake and don't know where I am which is great way to start day already in a panic. I never know when it's going to happen. Its always a fight for my life where I'm out numbered with impossible odds. I wake full of fear. Then here's the ringer. I wonder why I am having these horrible dreams what's wrong with me and I go into depression and withdraw I become distant and elusive. This is going on two to three times a week. My doc says everbody has nightmares. I realize he is trying to help me down play the nightmares but I never had nightmares fighting for my life before

airborne,

Happy belated birthday! Did you catch anything? I'd have to take up ice fishing if I wanted to fish here right now. I used to fish some in the Ozarks. I loved the Crappiethon they had there (though I never won anything).

knap-sack - Geez on your doctor. Yes. Everyone has nightmares, but they don't have them several times a week. I probably have a really disturbing nightmare a couple of times a year. If I am dealing with something really stressful, I might have them a bit more often -- but otherwise, they are pretty rare for me.

    • These decisions have made a big impact on how VA disability claims are handled, giving veterans more chances to get benefits and clearing up important issues.

      Service Connection

      Frost v. Shulkin (2017)
This case established that for secondary service connection claims, the primary service-connected disability does not need to be service-connected or diagnosed at the time the secondary condition is incurred 1. This allows veterans to potentially receive secondary service connection for conditions that developed before their primary condition was officially service-connected.

      Saunders v. Wilkie (2018)
The Federal Circuit ruled that pain alone, without an accompanying diagnosed condition, can constitute a disability for VA compensation purposes if it results in functional impairment 1. This overturned previous precedent that required an underlying pathology for pain to be considered a disability.

      Effective Dates

      Martinez v. McDonough (2023)
This case dealt with the denial of an earlier effective date for a total disability rating based on individual unemployability (TDIU) 2. It addressed issues around the validity of appeal withdrawals and the consideration of cognitive impairment in such decisions.

    • I met with a VSO today at my VA Hospital who was very knowledgeable and very helpful.  We decided I should submit a few new claims which we did.  He told me that he didn't need copies of my military records that showed my sick call notations related to any of the claims.  He said that the VA now has entire military medical record on file and would find the record(s) in their own file.  It seemed odd to me as my service dates back to  1981 and spans 34 years through my retirement in 2015.  It sure seemed to make more sense for me to give him copies of my military medical record pages that document the injuries as I'd already had them with me.  He didn't want my copies.  Anyone have any information on this.  Much thanks in advance.

    • Caluza Triangle defines what is necessary for service connection
Caluza Triangle – Caluza vs Brown defined what is necessary for service connection. See COVA– CALUZA V. BROWN–TOTAL RECALL

This has to be MEDICALLY Documented in your records:

Current Diagnosis.   (No diagnosis, no Service Connection.)

      In-Service Event or Aggravation.
Nexus (link- cause and effect- connection) or Doctor’s Statement close to: “The Veteran’s (current diagnosis) is at least as likely due to x Event in military service”

    • Do the sct codes help or hurt my disability rating
    • VA has gotten away with (mis) interpreting their  ambigious, , vague regulations, then enforcing them willy nilly never in Veterans favor.

They justify all this to congress by calling themselves a "pro claimant Veteran friendly organization" who grants the benefit of the doubt to Veterans.

      This is not true,

      Proof:

About 80-90 percent of Veterans are initially denied by VA, pushing us into a massive backlog of appeals, or worse, sending impoverished Veterans "to the homeless streets" because  when they cant work, they can not keep their home.  I was one of those Veterans who they denied for a bogus reason:  "Its been too long since military service".  This is bogus because its not one of the criteria for service connection, but simply made up by VA.  And, I was a homeless Vet, albeit a short time,  mostly due to the kindness of strangers and friends.

Hadit would not be necessary if, indeed, VA gave Veterans the benefit of the doubt, and processed our claims efficiently and paid us promptly.  The VA is broken.

A huge percentage (nearly 100 percent) of Veterans who do get 100 percent, do so only after lengthy appeals.  I have answered questions for thousands of Veterans, and can only name ONE person who got their benefits correct on the first Regional Office decision.  All of the rest of us pretty much had lengthy frustrating appeals, mostly having to appeal multiple multiple times like I did.

I wish I know how VA gets away with lying to congress about how "VA is a claimant friendly system, where the Veteran is given the benefit of the doubt".   Then how come so many Veterans are homeless, and how come 22 Veterans take their life each day?  Va likes to blame the Veterans, not their system.
