She's 15, he's definitely also your Dependant, until and probably after she's 18. That is, as long as she maintains custody of your grandson. Might be a good idea to get a free consult with a Family Law Specialist regarding custody and guardian issues. Who knows what type of mom she will turn out to be. Best to get your Ducks in a row early on rather than having to scramble.

How olds the father? Has paternity been established yet? Time for him to actually man up, don't let him slide. I know, women don't need a man in their life to raise a kid but really they do and the kid has some rights too. Your kind of his legal guardian right now and you need to see that all of his LEGAL rights are protected. At the very least, he deserves his fathers last name, and somewhere down the line, a hefty child support payment will be due. Be proactive.

Feel for ya.

I would think you can claim your daughters baby as a dependent if they live with you and your supporting them.

You need to contact the VA and let them know your dependent status as changed , That you need to add a dependent.

others can chime in..

I am writing my memoirs and would love it if you could help a shipmate out and look at it.

I've had a few challenges, perhaps the same as you. I relate them here to demonstrate that we can learn, overcome, and find purpose in life.

The stories can be harrowing to read; they were challenging to live. Remember that each story taught me something I would need once I found my purpose, and my purpose was and is HadIt.com Veterans.
