Question

As of today I am at day 247 for my FDC, I sent an update request from IRIS and received the following.  Only thing I don't really understand is the "waiting for approval by a VA authorizer"?

Thank you for your service to our country.

We apologize for the delay in responding to your inquiry. We are currently experiencing a large volume of inquiries and are working as quickly as possible to respond to each in a timely manner.

Your claim is currently in the final stages waiting for approval by a VA authorizer.

Your claim's status may change if additional information is required.

At this time, it is estimated that your claim should be completed by May 16, 2016.

Please understand that this date is an estimate and that your claim may take longer based on the specifics of your claim and VA's pending workload.

Thank you for contacting us. If you have questions or need additional help with the information in our reply, please respond to this message or see our other contact information below.

Sincerely yours,

Green

Its not like there is an agenda against green that might preclude him from thinking otherwise. For every vet that posts here with a negative experience there are thousands of others that did not have a negative experience whose claims were adjudicated and done and they are satisfied with the results. Attitude is what one makes it to be. More healthy to be positive than to look for the negative  or hidden agenda in everything.

The Earth is degenerating these days. Bribery and corruption abound.Children no longer mind their parents, every man wants to write a book, and it is evident that the end of the world is fast approaching. --17 different possible sources, all lacking verifiable attribution.

(I AM NOT A RATER- I work the claims BEFORE they are rated, annotating medical evidence in your records, VA and Legal documents,  and DA/DD forms- basically a paralegal/vso/etc except that I also evaluate your records based on Caluza and try to justify and schedule the exams that you go to based on whether or not your records have enough in them to warrant those)

As a former "Authorizer" with VA I can say that a claim that is awaiting authorization means that they have adjudicated the claim, rated the claim, and an award document/Notification letter has been promulgated (completed). From that point it moves to what the VA refers to as an Authorizer (a Certified VSR).

The Authorizer reviews the claim, the evidence received, the rating, and the award/Notification letter. If it's all completed correctly then the Authorizer signs off and the claim is finalized.

Whether the claim is a grant or denial or a combination of both it still gets an award document/Notification letter, and it still goes through the Authorizer.

It's still a 50/50 (Grant/Denial) at that point.

Hope this helped out some.
