0 Moderator broncovet Posted October 28, 2017 Moderator Share Posted October 28, 2017 Thanks, Berta. You may have answered this before, but isnt it true that Vietnam Vets (boots on the ground) get special handling of their claim (still) by NVLSP lawyers who are the class action reps for Nehmer Vets? That is, if a Vet is in this "Agent Orange" category, shouldnt he contact NVLSP lawyers who may just be able to get him an earlier date for these maladies he has been suffering from for years, but, because VA denied him service connection as his malady was "not" on the presumptive list? 0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted October 28, 2017 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 28, 2017 (edited) ''Ailments under review as possible adds to the presumptive diseases list include bladder cancer, hypothyroidism and Parkinson-like symptoms without diagnosis of that particular disease. But hypertension (high blood pressure) and stroke also might be embraced, or ignored, as part of the current review.'' I was wishing they review the veterans that have Anemia conditions also. Many many veterans have some type of Anemia that causes other conditions to arise , and without hereditary conditions...After Vietnam come down with Anemia type conditions. For example I was out about 10 years from Vietnam or so and started have electrical shocks tingling of the hands arms and burning swelling feet...for no reason what so ever (I had thought I had pinch nerve in my neck or back or in congestive heart failure...not so After I got worse wife talked me into going to the VA Hospital to get checked out After all kinds of testing the Dr's where not sure why my symptoms was occurring ...they come to the conclusion I had Pretentious Anemia...because MRI'S an other test done showed I had no intrinsic-factor...that is the part of the human body that takes in the Cyanocobalamin (B-12) & sends into the blood stream....Ok Most Dr's (specialist will tell you there is no medically known reason why a person has no Intrinsic-Factor? other than excess drinking Alcohol or a rare form of leukemia...I had neither...they were going to do a bone marrow on me but decided I should take boo coos of B-12 INJECTIONS for the 1st 4 weeks (2 injections a day) and see what happens.?..all my symptoms stopped...so they put me on a life time of B-12 injections. I whole heartily blame my loss of intrinsic-factor was caused by A.O. But needless to say the VA Disagrees b/c lack of studies from it. but my point is there is the Anemia that has come up in other veterans life time after Vietnam and the VA should look at all factors that A.O. Can cause later on in life no matter how many years it takes to manifest. Of course I am thankful I don;t have leukemia and other horrible diseases but Anemia can cause other diseases/conditions and who is to say A.O. is not the cause? 0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted October 28, 2017 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 28, 2017 broncovet Most Vietnam veterans that may think they have a presumption disease caused from A.O.& was denied is in the VA A.O. Registry or at least they should be. I was scheduled for appointment to the VAMC by my PCO BACK IN 2000 at that time to give me an A.O. Preliminary test they check you out goood and run test and X-rays MRI'S if needed ect,,ect,, and they give there pro -opinion if your clear from any A.O. Diseases/Presumption or not but state that they may arise later on in life. Being in the A.O. Registry cuts through a lot of RED TAPE if the veteran ever comes down with any known A.O. Disease or Condition. Every Vietnam Veteran needs to be in the A.O Registry. boots on the ground or BWN Veterans. jmo
0 treysnonna
So if you are on the ao register for claims or appeals move faster. How do you get on it.? Buck my husband low b12 also and took b12 for a month, but he did not have to have them any longer. But that was about 5 yrs ago. He probably needs it again. He needs to lasso the dr and tell to ck it. I got mine done the other day, I'm waiting on results now. B12 is supposed to bee 1200 something, last time I had min ck it was down to 100. Old people to get low.
0 HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted November 3, 2017 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 3, 2017 I just had my private cardiologist bump up my HBP meds and the VA is saying I need to justify it. You know those jerks sit me down and take my BP until by chance they get a near normal reading. I hope HBP is on the AO list. Now if they just put OSA on there as well. Bladder cancer is a killer so it should be on there as well as all those other ugly cancers. The VA uses stats which just shows statistical findings. If the VA knows dioxin causes cancer and is one of the most potent poisons known to man why not make all cancers for boots on the ground vets presumptive. We will all be dead from "one day to be presumptive AO diseases" and won't get a dime.

Old people to get low. treysnonna you/or your hubby need to ask his VA PCP about it and ask for an A.O. Complete Exam to be placed in the A.O. Registry this is a special exam where the Dr examines him & reads pertinent medical records and reads from a Presumption A.O. List to see if he meets the A.O. Criteria or if he has any A.O. Presumption Disease either direct Service Connection or use of the Nehmer Ruling. Claims process = Regular Claims filing vs A.O. Claims the A.O. Claims is supposed to be faster...especially when the Veteran is in the A.O. Register. Being debatable ...but don't guarantee he/she will be approved, it just cuts through a lot of RED Tape So -to-speak he still has to go through the claims process! but on a priority level. jmo Edited November 3, 2017 by Buck52

I sure am hoping that some of the disabilities being considered will be on the list-------hard to say--- HBP and Stroke, along with bladder cancer are being considered.......also Parkinsonian sym
Berta
Per this article-yes: http://www.alz.org/dementia/parkinsons-disease-symptoms.asp Since Parkinsons is already on the AO presumptive list, I guess they are looking further into pre -full blow
