Count me in on the lawsuit. I've had some horrendous problems with VA Dental. I've been eligible since 1978 and didn't know I had it until 2011. That only happened because I filed other claims they turned down but did let me know I was eligible for dental. There was no letter or percentage just a form saying loss of teeth. Some clinics didn't want to recognize my eligibility.

Bay Pines/Lee County wouldn't do implants, their reasoning being (I was told) it cost too much and they could serve more vets by not providing implant care. However both Minneapolis and Tucson provide implants. Tucson has an Implant Board who decides who's eligible.

I agree the system is f**ked up and doesn't serve vets in line with Mission Statement.

I appreciate you, if anything happens — doubtful — i will let you know.

thanks 🇺🇸

Here in Tucson, we can only get referrals to providers who have a contract with Tri-West. Which sucks because the dentistry I need requires a specialist. There are 5 of these specialists in Tucson, but none are contracted with Tri-West. It's always the same thing with the VA... A lot of talk about providing care for the Vet and very little action.

If you are a 100% P&T or 100% or TDIU or s/c for Dental and you don’t like the Dental that your VA hospital has you can request to go to Community Care for your Dental and don’t take know for and answer

I think and I maybe wrong but a veteran must be rated P & T. If the veteran is rated 100% or TDIU, some VAMC Dental Clinics are refusing to service them or treat them because they have not been rated P & T. Yes, if a veteran is rated 100% P & T or TDIU P & T then the VAMC clinic would treat them but they must have that P & T rating first.

I have one or more service-connected disabilities rated 100% disabling.

You’re in: Class IV

You may qualify for: Any needed dental care*

*Please note: If you’re being paid at the 100% disabling rate based on a temporary rating (for a reason such as a long stay in the hospital or rehab care), that doesn’t qualify you for this benefit.

I’m unemployable (unable to work), and I get disability compensation at the 100% disabling rate due to service-connected conditions.

I know this is word play but when veterans are rated 100% or TDIU without P & T these are not temporary ratings, the are neither permanent ratings. These ratings may have a future re-evaluation date that some VAMC clinic determine are temporary but that is totally different than being in a convalescent or rehab care.

Now for the treatment, the VA hospital will do what is the most convenient and cheapest for them.
