Another new one for me, a contracted C&P

Rate this question

Carl the Engineer

Question

All,

Another new one for me.  Just got the call from "LHI Care" (?).  All my previous exams have been done at the VA hospital.

The good.  They are scheduling the C&P thirty minutes from my home.  The place doing the exam is the same place where I had my rehab for my plantar fasciitis a few years back.

The bad.  I have never done a contracted exam before (so at least I will know what you Veterans are always talking about).

The ugly.  I am schedule for lower back, spine, shoulder/arm, esophagus and hiatal hernia.  This place had no doctors, just physical therapists, so not too comfortable on the Barrett's Esophagus/Hiatal Hernia part of the exam...

I took a quick search of LHI in Hadit, and see they look like a 50/50 satisfaction rating, LOL.

Any suggestions are appreciated,

Hamslice

I will be studying the associated DBQ's before hand, and taking copies of my medical records with.

Yes, I had been unsure of LHI being as good as halfass exams I got from VA over the years.  I should have known they could not be worse.  I think you have nothing to fear from LHI.

Maybe it will be in the game room, and they will have me lay back on the foosball table.

John, I think it will be OK too.  Time will tell.  Just a first for me.

GB, I once thought I was going to get a 10, and ended up with a 10 and a 30, so you are right, you never know.

Update,

OK, so I had my LHI C&P exams today.  It was interesting to say the least.  With that said, I feel that the examiner did a great job and was prepared for my appointment.  She not only had my exams partially filled out (administrative data), but she also had a hand written page of notes to go over with me.  She had annotated the page(s) of all the evidence related to the issues being claimed.  Nice.

The examiner hit the contentions directly and used the proper tools for the exam.  On range of motion, I stopped at pain and she measured.

The only thing examined but was not claimed was the other shoulder, but I think they measure for comparison also, i.e., bilateral, etc.  And, I'm not too sure about the mobile x-ray equipment.  The technician said it didn't have enough power to go through us bigger guys, LOL.  Took a couple extra pictures.

I'm staying positive,
