Anyone Diagnosed With Myoclonus (Body Twitching)?
I've been telling my VA docs, including the doc in my initial C&P exam, that my arms and legs jerk and twitch uncontrollably. It feels like I am receiving an electrical shock that can travel through my whole body. This has been going on for 20 years. None of the docs ever took note or asked any questions to explore my complaint. In the last 6 months or so, the frequency and severity of the twitching has increased to the point that it is affecting my daily life. Imagine drinking hot coffee when your arm suddenly jerks, spilling hot coffee everywhere! Its also embarrassing being around other people when my body is flailing about for no reason. I finally had a …

Fibromyalgia
I served in the Persian Gulf during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I have been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia/ Myofascial syndrome by two seperate nurse practioners one of them being my primary care provider and the other in the pain clinic. My primary care provider filled out a Disability Benefits Questionnaire where she stated by pain was not responding to treatment and that her opinion that it was least as likely as not related to my service in the Persian Gulf and exposure to possible environmental causes. I have filed a claim with my VSO and still waiting on a decision. My primary care provider has completed all the blood work to rule out other causes such…

Gulf War Syndrome Nexus Letter
I was a 0331 machinegunner in the USMC. I was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Naval Achievement medal for actions in Iraq, and PUC. I have been disgusted by the VA so far. My file has been on hold because they sent my records to another veteran. I thought it was a prank call until the veteran started rattling off my SSN, address, phone number, DOB, etc. I recieved a C & P Exam and the examiner noted in the report: Diagnostic Impression: 1. Fibromyalgia. 2. Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Discussion: Based upon the classic history for both irritable bowel syndrome and fibromyalgia, I do think that the Veteran suffers from both of these disorders primarily, but …

Gulf War Registry Results-Got A Letter From Va-What Next?
Hey folks- New to the forum, here. USMC retiree, currently at 70% disability, 60% for compensation. I have not had much difficulty with claims and such after reading all the posts-it's been pretty cut and dry for me and I've gotten fantastic service @ VA. However, I have been struggling with chronic fatigue, joint pain, rash, memory loss, etc since Persian Gulf (also did OIF). I told the Gulf War rep @ my VA, and he said I needed to do a GW Registry Exam. I did. I just got a letter back from the VA that states: "The examination is complete. Based on this exam we found: Following conditions which have been found to be presumptively secondary to Gulf War Ser…

Claim On Gwi, Response From Va
I had filed claims with the VA. Some were new, and some claims were to reopen certain claims. This was almost one year ago. Recently, I received a letter a letter from the VA. It mentions they are still working on my claim, but need more information on GWI. What do we still need from you? We need evidence showing that the following conditions existed from military service to present time: Body rash, joint pains, diarrhea, chest/stomach pains, all due to GWI. The letter goes on to state.........you have claimed exposure to an environmental hazard based on your service during the GW. We can take no action since you did not claim a specific disability. Tell us your spe…

Need Advice
:D I am a retired Gulf War Vet. In 1996 I had to fight with V.A. two years for 40%. 20% for right arm pain and weakness. Now arm has unexplained moderate to severe twitch. I am right handed. V.A. never gave me a full explanation about the arm. I have been under Neuro. Dr care last year, he says twitch is unexplained. In 1998 I got Voc. Rehab. four years of college to be a teacher now can't even write my own name sometimes. My lower back is rated at 10% but now my right leg is going numb. Neuro. Dr. says this maybe because of lower back not sure. The last year I have been tested and retested for everything . All of my doctors say they do not know what is causing this. …

Gulf War Registry Exam Questions
Greetings Again and thanks for the initial answers to my other questions on re-opening my VA disability claim. One of the forum members mentioned to me about going to the VA and being added to the Gulf War Registry and having the exam to determine info to establish a Gulf war Syndrome/Illness claim. I downloaded the Va Form 10-9009a(rs) and am going to fill it out tomorrow and then drop it off at the VA to have them schedule me for the exam. I was wondering if any of you have done this and what I might need to do as I prepare for this. I served in the Gulf War in late 1990-early 1991 and I have had amny symptoms that seem to be related to the Gulf War Illness symptoms.…

Question About Cfs
I just filed for disability compensation and they are in the process of getting my medical records. I know for a fact that I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I was medically, honorably discharged in 1996 and was in the Persian gulf. I was told that I would not quality for VA assistance so haven't persued it until recently. I was approved and put into Priority Group 3 as service-connected. I haven't been given a rating yet as I just filed for disability compensation.
