Hello All Hope All Is Well. Has any one ever had this procedure done ? I had this procedure done on Friday painfull to say the least. This was something should have been last november but due to issues concerning local VAMC and POC changes and pretty much gettiing jerked around at this point. As for my health care at this facility it has gone irrevecably bad and the bond of trust of so called professionals that id rather go to local ER or hosp for treatment and have requested fee base care no reply from VAMC. Ihd
If I was rated for arterioscelorotic heart disease could I also get a rating for IHD due to AO? I got 60% for arterio secondary to DMII. Now I could file for IHD also I believe as directly presumptive for AO, but would I want to for any reason? Are the two diseases the same thing?

More Ft. Hood Suicides
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/30/us/30hood.html?_r=1&partner=rss&emc=rss Excerpt from NY Times: Maj. Gen. William F. Grimsley, the Fort Hood senior commander, said in a statement released at a news conference on Wednesday that “leaders at all levels remain deeply concerned about this trend.” Mr. Haug said that the general did not believe that additional measures were necessary to stop the trend and that the base already had an extensive suicide-prevention program. But advocates for soldiers who have suffered mental breakdowns said the programs were not effective.

Filed Nod With My Vso
I went to a new VSO (same organization - TN DVA) on Aug. 13th and filed a NOD on a July 28th rating decision. I haven't heard anything from the VA yet. My VSO says it could take 60 days before I hear anything at all but I don't remember it taking this long with a NOD I filed a couple years ago. I'm trying hard to be patient but don't want to wait too long either. I may have mentioned this before, but I'm worried because I received a request for further information and sent in medical records & a statement in support of my claim in April and those records were ignored. When I made an IRIS inquiry about the records I'd filed, they came back saying: "Our records do n…

ptsd Would This Help Support An Earlier Effective Date For Tdiu?
I resigned from my federal civilian employment in November 2009, citing clearly on my resignation that it was due to my service-connected conditions (depression and PTSD). The following day, I informed my VA psychologist that I had done so. Lots and lots and lots of treatment and support groups happened. In April 2010, my new VA psychiatrist signed a statement for my state tax authority (there is a higher pension exclusion in MD for totally disabled). She wrote "He has been unable to work in any capacity and has been totally disabled since November 2009." More treatment and support groups. In July 2010 or thereabouts, I filed for TDIU. More treatment and …

diabetes Iris Response
The question has been asked many times on Hadit and other boards as to how RO handle multi claims. This Iris response addresses this question fairly well. IRIS RESPONSE: We also show your October 19, 2009, claim for increase seeking an earlier effective date for cardiac arterial disease open at the Roanoke RO. VA must hold all claims regarding B cell leukemias, Parkinson’s disease, and ischemic heart disease until final regulations are accepted, published, and the final review process is completed. The final regulation (38 CFR 3.309(e)) was published August 31, 2010. The regulation is now under a 60-day period where Congress is able to review the regulation and dec…

ptsd Us Army Commanders Alarmed By Rash Of Suicides At Fort Hood
9. US Army Commanders Alarmed By Rash Of Suicides At Fort Hood. The New York Times (9/30, A23, McKinley, 1.01M) reports, “Four veterans of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan died this week from what appeared to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds at Fort Hood in central Texas, raising the toll of soldiers who died here at their own hands to a record level and alarming Army commanders.” The “largest base in the United States, Fort Hood and the surrounding communities have suffered high rates of crime, domestic violence, suicide and various mental illnesses as wave after wave of soldiers have been deployed abroad over nine years of continual warfare, often serving more…

ptsd Extra Schedular Rating
I spoke with an veteran's attorney regarding a claim that was denied. He asked me what % I was and what I am being compensated for. He said that I should send in my NOD for the Meniere's disease that was denied (but he was not very hopeful anything would happen with that.) However, because my rating was so high for PTSD and right knee issues, that I should request an "Extra Schedular Rating" increase. I told him that I was not loooking for TDIU because I have to work, not for monetary reasons, but for my own mental health. He said that it did not matter because I had missed so much work in the past because of my SC'd disabilities that I may have a better shot at getting t…
