What Does This Mean?
The VA is processing my claim. Under "Evidence Gathering, Review and Decision" they wrote: We closed the notice for Exam Request - Processing. Does this mean there won't be an exam as part of the evidence gathering? Thanks! Max

Hello Vets, Glad to have found this channel. I would so greatly appreciate any insight on Remands and what they are stating to have me as the Vet schedule for a new C&P exam, for my back issues. Not sure how to get more traction on this and i have a Docket number from the BOARD OF VETERANS’ APPEALS. Can someone please assist and help me move the needle fwd? Any and all consideration in the matter is again greatly appreciate and thank you for your time. V/r, Arthur

Exercising before an x-ray, good or bad idea?
I suffered a broken pelvis from a parachuting operation back in the 90's. I've been rated 10% for about 20 years. My pain has increased an incredible amount over the past year. Many veterans are telling me to file a claim for an increase and giving me pointers to help my case. One being that the night before I get x-rayed, they said to jog or run for as much as I can tolerate and that will make my arthritis show up better on an x-ray? anybody know if this is true? Thanks all! Airborne!

Claiming erectile dysfunction
I suffer from erectile dysfunction. I am considering applying for ED as secondary to my High blood pressure and on my sleep apnea, I am service connected for both of these conditions. I was recently approved for high blood pressure/hypertension under the pact act. I have had blood pressure issues for many years, in the past year. My cardiologist at the VA has had to increase my blood pressure medicine and add on a new additional blood pressure medicine soon after the medication adjustment my ED came significantly worse. The cardiologist switched me to a different blood pressure medicine my ED did not improve. my question, would it be best to ask for service connection for…

What to do if you get a proposed reduction letter from VA.
Take these steps: 1. Dont ignore the letter, it wont go away. 2. Dont Panic. Most Proposed Reductions that are timely disputed by the Veteran or his representative can be quashed, regulations (provided by links below) are in the Veterans favor. 3. Get help. You can ask questions on hadit, seek help from a VSO, or even seek legal help in extreme cases. 4. Consider asking for a hearing to tell your side. If you do get a hearing, then explain why your stituation "does not fit" the reduction criteria. I did great "WITHOUT a hearing", on 2 separate occasions. Its my opinion that the VA "hopes" you just forget about the letter, and dont miss…

VA denial for two presumptive PACT ACT conditions
I’m a gulf war veteran that was exposed to particular matter during military service in southwest Asia under the new pact act. My exposure in the golf war area is acknowledged by the VA and I am considered a veteran exposed to particulate matter in the new presumptive list has melanoma and any head face or neck cancers listed as presumptive conditions. I had a melanomas and a basal cell carcinoma removed from my right and left for head’s. The melanomas removed in 2013 and the basal cell carcinoma was removed in 2009. The VA has denied me service connection for the scars associated to these two cancers their reasoning for the denial is they requested an examination with me…

VA's "Denial Tool box"
VA has many ways to deny you, and has some tools to help them do just that. Im gonna list "some" of those "denial tools" WHICH may help you. 1. Filing an appeal late. This is an easy one for VA. If you file a VARO appeal "beyond the 1 year time period", its immediately denied as not having been filed timely. It works every time for them, not so good for you. Fix: File your appeal on time next time. If you have already missed your appeal deadline, its much harder. Try filing a supplemental claim, especially with new evidence. 2. Failure to attend a c and p exam. This is a VA favorite tool. They love denying Vets who fail to go to exams, "at …

SMC (r)(2) appeal won; retroactive 11 years
Just learned my BVA appeal from r-1 to r-2 was approved, retroactive from 4 Aug 2023 to 12 Aug 2011. VFW help was tepid at best, even not showing up for the video BVA hearing. I did all the creative stuff before and after that. R-2 requires skilled, licensed professional care at home and I've refused all such care. Apparently what won the decision was the scope of SC issues (over 500%), DNR & terminally ill, the spouse having been "oriented" as to home PT and other care, and a compassionate judge. I stressed throughout that regulations say a vet must be in need of advanced home care or face nursing home placement - NEED vs. actual-the plain meaning of the word is…

BVA appeal, evidence submission lane
Hello, On my behalf an attorney filed 2 BVA separate appeals - both with additional evidence - in December 2021. I thought it might take a few years but it looks like it is still under staff review and hasn’t been given to a law judge yet. Should I prepare for a much longer wait? Has the Pact act slowed down the process for those of us with pending BVA appeals Thanks for any input you can provide Wade

Veterans right to pain relief?
I came across this article, which does not mention Veterans. However, it appears to apply to everyone. Common sense suggests that your doctor's refusal to give you a prescription for needed pain meds forcing people "onto the street" (heroine, cocaine, or other uncontrolled drugs) is a bad idea. Im sure you have heard of many Fentanyl deaths, sometimes from people trying street drugs "one" time. Often street drugs are laced with fentanyl, an exceptionally powerful drug, where a small amount can be fatal. While Im no expert on street drugs (I have never used them), I do know its an incredible problem in my town, and many other towns. In my town there have …
