100% PT and doing Reservist PHA
My main concern is civilian or Army provider who does PHA contacting VA due to ‘undeserving’ VA disability. Whether they have logical reasons or not, it can still trigger the VA sleeping bear to awaken and unnecessarily audit right? What are your thoughts? I’ve been documenting all disabilities and medications on my PHA for years (no change in PHA) but always do it with a civilian provider. Now I must do it with an Army provider. What are your thoughts? It’s been 5 years since my VA claim was connected.

diabetes Jet Fuel & Diabetes
Hello Fellow Veterans, I am wondering if there are any articles on Jet Fuel exposure & Diabetes. My Doctor seems to think that there is a possibility that my exposure to JP-5 may be a link to my diabetes. If there are any USS Midway CV-41 flat-top Veterans' out there; you know that the JP-5 on the USS Midway was in everything, drinking water, showers, tap water (we used it for coffee & brushing our teeth); which ultimately lead to it being even in the food prepared on the mess deck. For those who don't know, you could take a (clear) glass and fill it up from any drinking fountain or tap and see the JP-5 floating on top. Unfortunately bottled water w…

Coming off Active Duty
I'm quite certain this question has been answered, nut my search capabilities are like my professional baseball skills - almost non-existent. Anyway, my son is on terminal leave now for a couple more weeks. He intends to file a few things from his AD time. Does he/should he wait until he's officially released to file? I know the EZ form's first question is are you on AD. He has requested a copy of his military records, but does not have those yet. Should he wait for those to come in before he files? My thought is no, bit looking for an answer. Thanks Kevin

Toxic exposure, presumptive conditions, PACT ACT and false BS from "experts'
There is serious false and misleading information being given to vets by so called "experts" at another location. Later I will give my disability claims/appeals success as an example against their lies. They say in a condensed version here that exposure means nothing and even a current diagnosis means nothing without a medical nexus opinion connecting the two to active service. They must hate the Pact ACT and the presumptive clause of that ACT. (1) In 2014 I was diagnosed with Ischemic Heart Disease IHD/CAD by private Heart Surgeon after extensive testing. The VARO raters automatically awarded me 30% rating for this IHD/CAD as a presumptive disability due to …

Hijacking a Topic. (New members take note)
This mostly applies to new members. WE want you to ask questions, and volunteers try to give good, helpful advice. Dozens and dozens of Veterans have benefitted by hadit advice, including me. ASK YOUR QUESTION in a NEW topic. To do this, go to top right where it says, "Create" and select "New Topic". Asking your question in someone else's topic is unlikely to get you the advice you want because many people just wont read those old posts..other's wont even see your question because its buried deep in an old post. Creating a new topic should put your question "right on the top", where it can easily be seen by those people who have knowledge of yo…

ADDED BENEFITS??
I'm a 2 tour Vietnam Vet (68-70) and have been T & P drawing 100% VA disability pay for 23 years, PTSD. I was just diagnosed with high grade bladder cancer at VA this past week. I had the bladder tumor removed a few days ago. Next week I start a once a week for 6 weeks VA hospital medical treatment to keep the cancer in remission. i have read that bladder cancer and being a Vietnam Vet that this is service connected due to Agent Orange and is considered a 100% rated disability. Because I am already T & P can I gain anything additional filing with VA for this bladder cancer issue?? D.A.V. says I have nothing to gain. What do you say?? If I DO have some…

File in claims folder stamped "DROP FILE" - What does this mean?
I got out of the service in Dec 1990 and was hospitalized with Major Depression in September of 1991. I was so fucked up I didn't know to file a claim, even though I was within the one-year time frame from separation. So today I am looking through my C-File and find a file stamped "DROP FILE" dated 9/1991 I'm not sure if this would allow me to CUE for an earlier effective date or not. If any legal beagles have any thoughts see the attached pdf. DROP-FILE-002_Redacted.pdf

Memory loss
I put in for a claim , claiming memory loss, headaches, speech problems, and I am regretting that to Camp Lejeune water. I had a C&P exam questions will be in asked for about mental health. I currently had depression read it at 50% it is now decreased to 30%. I don't know how my depression rating got decreased sense I was putting in for memory problems. No questions to ask about memory, headaches, or forgetting where I was driving to. I am going to appeal?

Mission Act
For the first time ever I learned about the Mission Act through a random phone call to a help line. I went to the local VA hospital (Portland) and did a session with a counselor who then said someone would call me about getting help in the community. I went in earlier that week and was told it would be months before I could be seen. Tomorrow will be the 3rd business day since doing the intake. How long should I wait before going back and asking what is going on? I am 70% SC, in spite of what my profile says, was awarded it in 2011.
