tinnitus Is There A Limited Date For Filing Prostate Cancer Agent Orange?
My friend has been having severe pain in the prostate area for several months and I and his wife finally got him to get a PSA. I filed a claim for him for Tinnitus (11B40) Nam and Prostate problems about 4 months ago....they sent him for hearing exam right away, but have not scheduled a Prostate C&P. I am assuming the VA (like in several areas) have limited Staff Uriologists and that's why he hasn't been scheduled for a C&P yet. I know they are "supposed" to give you a physcial on the Agent Orange examination, so I had him call the Patient Rep to see if he could get it or the C&P exam "hurrried up". He's the type that has NEVER been to the VA and doesn't like …

Address Change
I had a soc from dro appeal. They said they sent soc on 6/14/07. I kept calling 1-800 about why I haven't recieved it yet. Here I was told it was sent to my previous address of two years ago. I told the va i changed my address 2 years ago. I receive letters from the va like we are still working on your claim. Why OH why would the dro send soc to old address. An soc is very important to be recieve because of the 60 day rule. I called dav yesterday and was told service reps are out untill monday because of a convention. Why in hell couldn't the secritary i talked to have my addy changed. Now what do I do but rack my brain.

Help On Intrepreting Marine Vets Dd 214
I knew a Marine Vietnam vet for probably 10-12 years, he and I were not close but I helped him file some disability claims and I had never seen his DD 214. I could not stand to be around him very long or for that matter ANYONE who BRAGS of all their Medals etc from Nam. He bragged constantly about his "Recon" duty in Nam, said he received 2 Purple Hearts, Silver Star amd other Medals, I always felt uncomfortable and felt he was doing a lot of exaggerating. His funeral was on May 28, 2007 and I attended.....the Preacher explained how he was a "Hero" serving not one but two tours in Vietnam and receiving two Purple Hearts. Anyway, his wife asked me to help in filing for th…

Effective Dates
" (2) The effective date of an award of increased compensation shall be the earliest date as of which it is ascertainable that an increase in disability had occurred, if application is received within one year from such date." So - is this talking about an increased RATING for something that was already granted SC --or increased compensation - in general. In my husband's case - If he was 20% Service Connected on his back and knee - but recieves an increased COMPENSATION based on his cancer -- can the claim go back to the date it can be shown the increase in disability occured - if he filed within one year of that date? With all the talk of Congress…

ptsd Will I Lose My Benefits
Hi, I have a question. I'm getting 30% for "Geralized anxiety disorder with depressive disorder" and my therapist and VA rep. told me that I needed to do a new claim for "PTSD" since that is also what my shrink diagnosed me as having. My question is, will they take away my current 30% disability comp. and say, "oh..... your Dr. said you have PTSD and that is the reason why you are depressed" then they can turn around and say they (VA) dosen't have enough evidence to support PTSD? Should I have not done a new claim? I'm thinking not and just be happy (lack of a better word) with what the VA gave me first time around. Did I totally confuse you guys, lol. Thanks in advanc…

All, On 2 of my C & P exams the PA's noted secondary conditions. I already have my SOC and these conditions were not addressed in the SOC. I am working on my Form 9 so what are my options for addressing these conditions? Do I mention them in the Form 9 or do I have to file a new SC claim with the VARO? Thanks. Joe

Rating Cases At The Bva Website
Please help improve VA Enterprise Search by rating these search results. Use the "Rate this document" bar below each record after reviewing the document. Has anyone been reading the BVA cases lately? Any ideal of why they would like you to rate after you read? http://www.index.va.gov/search/va/bva.html I am not sure which is high to low, but I took a chance and gave mine a very low rating. I had a " Buddy Letter" in my claims file and it is not even mentioned. Josephine
