This veteran was service connected for 20% Diabetes, 100% PTSD, 30% Liver Cirrohis, the seizures started shortly after the liver problems were found...he was a drinker up until then, but the VA had been prescribing Klonopin for anxiety and even doubled it before I told his wife the Klonopin labels said to NOT give to anyone with liver problems. hypertension Filing For Increase
Hi everyone, As many of you know my husband has a service connected left knee injury and gets 60%. However, since knee injury his medical records from both VA and private doctor states that he has Osteoarthritic changes which is secondary to his left knee injury. He has never asked for an increase for secondary Osteoarthritic changes and wants to do so now. My question is he has other conditions thats associated with arthritis and not associated with arthrits. He has medical records to prove all of them, but how do you think they will rate him and what is SC or secondary. These are the conditions that he wants to put in an increase for: 1. Osteoarthritic ch…

tinnitus Iu Possible?
The old fella I helped was granted 90% for hearing loss and 10% for tinnitus which equals 90% disability. He also filed for IU a couple months after filing the 2 claims just awarded. In the award it said the IU issue was deferred and he would hear from them later. If he has 90% hearing loss there is no way anyone will hire him. He has even been turned down by a new Walmart store for a job. Shouldn`t he be able to be awarded IU and is all he can do is wait? Cavman

Got Some Answers From Iris
The IRIS response actually answered my questions...and was even personalize. I was pretty impressed with that. The last person I talked to at the VA phone told me they were sending the C-file - and that I should get it in 30 days (a couple of months ago). So I need to send a written request. I guess I should have done that a couple of months ago - even though she told me I didn't have to - because they were sending it. I think I will write and ask for an appointment - and follow up with IRIS if I don't hear back from them. They sent me a letter letting me know they got my DIC claim I sent in May - but I never got any acknowledgement of the Statement I sent to…

Vets Are Asking For Help
I had a vet just call that served in Nam in 1965. He has glaucoma for many many years and his doctor thinks it was caused by AO. Does anyone know if Glaucoma is now on the list and was AO sprayed in 1965? I have vets asking for help and I tell them I will help if I feel they have a case. I feel I owe it to them for what you all did for me. Cavman

Any Hope For Priority 8 Vets In The Fy 2008 Budget
I am new here, so I apologize if I posted on the wrong forum. I am still waiting to have my claim decided and I am Priority 8 because of my wife's income. As long as claim determinations seem to take, I was wondering if anyone knew if anything is in the works to return health benefits to P-8 vets? Thanks.

And / Or
This isn't really an issue with the VA -- at least not at this time - but could be for others.. What is your interpretation of the use of and/or. If someone says you must do this and / or that... Are thay saying either or both? My concern is I don't want to do this. But if I do that --they will focus on the AND (i.e. we said both) But if I object to them trying to do this --they will focus on the OR (i.e. we said this OR that..we didn't try to MAKE you do this..)
