New To This Forum -- My Claim Has Been In The Ratings
I filed my original claim for degenerative disc disease of the lumbar spine on 30MAr2006. They denied it within 60 days. The SOC said my SMRs show I was treated for DDD/back injury in service but no permenant/chronic condition existed. That was my fault, I signed the 21-4142 to realease my Private Dr's records and put it in my mailbox with the little flag up and the VA never got it. So I submitted a radiology report showing DDD of the lumbar spine on Jul28. It went into the rating board on Jul28 with SMRs and the radiologist report. I called and they said a decision had been made (OCT19th) and I would recieve a letter soon. I caled back and they said it was back in the ra…

D.a.v Vso's
I swear, they are some idots that work for the DAV, they are also some good ones also let me mind you. Anyway here is my story. I went to the Va to get some answers on my back rating. I am currenly diagnosed with lumbar strain 20% (5302) I think. I had an IME from Dr. Bash and he diagnosed me with Sciatica and Advanced degenerative Arthritis. When i went in there i ask to see my regular va guy b/c he knows the ins and outs of my claims, he was busy so a lady vso saw me. My vso is pretty honest and blunt with me, thats what i like. If he says they are not going to rate this, he would give me options like by saying you can try it this way or do this and it may …

Can't Hold Up All Claims--blue-water Vets
This looks like the latest development in AO Bluewater Vets, from Larry @ Watchdog.ord. It seems to me that unrelated claims can not be held up, under this directive from the VBA (Veterans Benefit Admin.). AO claims, bundled with unrelated AO conditions, have to be adjucated without hold. I could be wrong. What do you think? http://www.vawatchdog.org/nfDEC06/nf121506-1.htm

Hep C Treatment
Greetings and Merry Christmas I'm currently rated 20% for Hep C. I've had this disease for over 30 years and it was identifed while on active duty. Well, I failed my third treatment session to remove or control Hep C from destorying my liver. Anyway, this third try has cause my liver viral load count to incease (1 million to 3 million) versus reducing it after the first four months. For those of you who have undergone this Hep C treatment know that its a very painful and diffecult process. I filed a claim for an increase with the VA in Sept 06 when I started this third round of treatments but was told (via email) that they have not reviewed my claim yet. I can only…

Veterans Administrative Records Stored Where?
Hi, Does anyone know when you have filed a previous claim, are your administrative records and medical records still at the Archives, or all copies with your claims file. I know that when I filed in 1978 the Va did not secure these records. I have requested my administrative records from the archives and received a complete set each time. This would be in May of this year and July. Does the Archives keep a copy of your Administrative Records, no matter how many times you have filed for service connected benefits and does the R. O have a copy also. Thanks, Josephine

Glossary Of Terms Or Abreviation
I have been actively reading as many post on the forums as I can to get up to speed and learn as much as possible about this animal we call VA. One problem I am having is getting all the abreviations down. And some of the acronyms as well. So my question is does anyone else have this problem or am I missing a post that has alot of them listed. I realize that most on here are used to the terms but I am struggling to cram years worth of experience and knowledge from you guys/gals into my head. so any help you could provide for Frequently used terms, flow charts of the process, the approval chain of command, from submission of a claim through the highest level of approval in…
