ptsd Sc Ptsd With Tdiu
Hi there, I haven't been able to locate an answer to my question so I'll ask it here.... I am currently recieving a Non SC pension from the VA. I initially applied for SC but like everyone else have been denied. The SOC stated among other things that the C&P examiner determined that the Board certified VA staff Psychiatrist who had been treating me for PTSD didn't know much and in one visit the C&P examiner decided that despite all the other evidence to the contrary that I didn't meet the criterion according to the DSM-IV. I did the NOD and was denied again. my appeal has been sent to the BVA and I have asked for a travel board hearing so I expe…

Dro Decision Reached, Claim Sent To Rating Board
Has anyone ever had a DRO decision and could not find out what the decision was, I tried but the claim was sent to the rating board. I am a little confused, My Vet rep said he did not know either and is reluctant to find out. I thought a DRO decision was an appeal and the information was delivered fairly quickly.

Cola
I see that our cola is about 2% for the year so far. This is preposterous considering the cost of homeowners insurance, gas, electric, food, clothing, housing and all the rest. In my neighborhood where I have access to VA care and doctors who can help me I could not afford to buy my own house if it was on the market today. I feel under seige. My private medical insurance and Part B and homeowners insurance continue to climb. For anyone trying to live just on VA and SSA the prospects are dim. I have really pulled in my horns when it comes to spending and I am thinking how to make my money last. This is not what I had in mind ten years ago when I was making good money …

Ineligible For Voc Rehab Due To Sc Disability
Berta wrote in an earlier post... Also if a vet has been found not eligible for Voc Rehab due to their SC disabilties , this is evidence that their SC disabilities have made them unemployable. My VA VocRehab counselor told me that I couldn't get Voc Rehab without a letter from my schrink saying I would be able handle school. Couldn't get my doctor to do it, so I never went back. Then, I got my initial rating - 10 for Major Depression based on VA exam (less than 5 min exam). Didn't appeal, so that decision is now final. Based on what I've read about the transfer of military records to VA in M21-1MR, I don't think military mental health records are transferre…

This is not a good day so please excuse mistakes I typed this once and somehow I lost it, thats a big thing for me because I am such a slow typer. I have a friend that is on Social Security disability for a bad back and has not worked for several years. He is an Army Veteran. I saw in the post by Pipeman that he is drawing the NSC pension. Is it because he retired from the military or is availiable to all Veterans? Where is the information so I can help my friend. THANKS! Terry Sturgis
