Please read this and email or write to your Congressman to support this bill- Even if you dont ever want to hire an attorney yourself for your VA claims, think of those who want to- this bill gives all claimants a choice. Personally- I think the vet orgs are worried- they employ SOs who get paid whether you fail or succeed in your claim-there is NO incentive for a SO or vet rep to help a claimant. The vet rep NSO situation could dramatically change due to this law.Maybe they will get better. Many vet reps and Sos are good but it takes caring and something beyond what many of them have- a full knowledge of current VA case law and the true ability to develop a c…

Response (department Of Veterans Affairs)
Berta, I wrote the VA as you suggested and asked the status of my claim, this is the email that was sent back to me. Your appeal is awaiting the last two steps in the process. Your claim folder is in the post determination team. This team updates the data base in our system, writes to the claimant to include the rating decision and if applicable, also notifies the treasury department if monies are due. It takes approximately 45 days for this part of the process. You will be notified in writing with the results. Again my CP exam was early June, can you tell me what any of this means.

Vas Knowledge Of Disease Vs. Claim Date
If there is evidence in a vets medical file regarding DMII and the VA didn't do anything about it. And then a few years later the VA treats and diagnoses the vet, and the vet then files a claim for the DMII. Will the compensation be from the date of the claim or from the date the VA first knew about the DMII? I suspect it is from the actual file date but was curious. Thanks for your imput. Jangrin

Crsc Pay For Military Retirees
CRSC Pay for Military Retirees HR 1366 would authorize combat-related special compensation (CRSC) pay to any military retiree who is entitled to retired pay and has a combat-related disability. (Currently, a retiree must meet those requirements and also have completed at least 20 years of retirement-creditable military service.). HR 1366 would provide a special compensation rule for medical disability retirees retired under Chapter 61 with less than 20 years of service. This legislation would benefit 188,000 Chapter 61 medical disability retirees. Unfortunately, as written, HR 1366 would exclude reservists with at least 15 retirement years who are given constructive c…

Any Sailors On Board-
Men and women- if you were in an op or manuever while you were on board a ship in active duty status- would your DD 214 reflect all Battle Stars or Campaign decorations, etc, that the ship got during this time-while you were on it? If not -why not? If the ship got the PUC, that would have to be on all DD 214s right? My point is- so many ships have gotten so many awards and decorations that- how could a ship get an award-that someone on it didn't get? Does that make sense? or have I been sitting in the head too long?

ptsd Help For A Buddy With Ptsd
Hello all you wise folks here on hadit, I have not posted in awhile since I recieved my back pay in june at 100% for the last three and a half years. Too much fun to be had. I have a freind who was discharged about a year ago from the Army for PTSD. He just recently recieved his decission and they rated him at 50% with a GAF of 52. I know very little about PTSD claims but I figure If this is their first offer there is probably more he should be getting. They denied his claims on knee problems from where shrapnel was removed. They also denied his rotator cuff problems in both shoulders from the same IED Calling them dislocated shoulders which have healed. I have only …

Question For Patrick428 Or Anyone Else
John's Primary (IMO) DR. has written a lettr of all of his medical problems. Took it to our VA Rep and she said it sounded good but negative and there where no phrases in like " more likely tha not" or "Least as likely as not" in it, so she said we should not sumit it. I suggested to John to ask the DR. to rewrite this letter with these phrases it it, He of course thinks it would be an insult to ask him to redo it. It would be like saying it isn't good enough do it my way. Question to all: Is John's thinking right or wrong: The DR. does not have any idea about VA system

It is my hope this can be changed by two routes: 1. HR 1188 - sponsored by Rep. Bob Filner of California, would give the privilege to 50% DAVs and up. Write your Congressional delegation and tell them to support it by joining it and introducing a companion into the Senat…

Wounded Warriors Left Behind?
Wounded Warriors Left Behind? Not Enough 'Space Available' For downed Warriors? [Editor's note: The following message was sent to "Military Village" an online discussion group concerned with the expansion of full Space-A privileges for military, DAV and Surviving Spouse/Dependant ID card holders. Ed Prifogle for many years has been the web master of an extensive, excellent travel site aimed at veterans and military Space-A travelers. Various view points exist on Military Village's board and this was in response to one emphasizing need for unity in seeking expansion of the privilege, not segmenting.] By Ed Prifogle, UTMC Contributor Some points to consider are…
