Big Brother
I understand that the FBI and Justice dept. are asking the major search engines and internet providers to turn over all records of all sites visited by all Americans for a two year period. This seems incredible. They are justifying it by saying they are after internet perverts. Big Brother loves us all to death.

tdiu Institute Of Medicine
I wrote the Institute of Medicine to give my opinion of the fact that they are doing a study for the VDBC regarding TDIU and many other compensation issues. They have been communicating with me in a serious manner. I hope some others will email them. You can get their email address from VAwatchdog.org. The Institute seems oblivious to the uses that the VDBC is going to use their findings to hurt vets. Maybe they just don't care and want the check, but they did write me back three times to explain their position.

Class Action Filed For Vets
http://news.cincypost.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar...EWS01/606010362 "Associated Press A federal lawsuit filed on behalf of 26.5 million veterans whose personal information was on a stolen computer disk asks the Department of Veterans Affairs to compensate the veterans and pay for their credit monitoring. The suit was filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Cincinnati by attorney Paul Hackett of Indian Hill, a Marine reservist who served in Iraq. Hackett, a Democrat, ran unsuccessfully against Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Ohio, in a special election in Ohio's 2nd District last year. The suit asks the VA to pay damages of at least $1,000 per veteran. "We're not looking for…

2,000 Vets Possibly Infected?
I saw a brief ticker on Fox news today that said 2,000 vets were being contacted- by the VA- these vets had some prostrate exams- that I think needed biopsy- and some might have been infected with Hepatitis C or even AIDS due to faulty sterilization of surgical equipment by VA. Boy- sure hope I read it wrong- I cannot find anything on Google News yet on this.

Myhealthvet
I have heard that veterans are having trouble getting into and logging on to MyHealthVet. I went in this morning to refill my husbands prescriptions and didn't have any trouble at all. They have changed everything around, so you have to look at the screen to figure out what you need to click on to go where you want to go. For those of you having problems, this is what I did to get my husbands prescriptions refilled: Go to www.myhealth.va.gov In the circled box on the right side of the page that reads "Go to my Healthvet", click on this. Enter your User Id and password on the right side of the page This logs you in Click at the top of the page on "Pharmacy" On…

What Happens If You Move During Claim Process?
Hi, I have a new claim in with the VARO & also a NOD appeals in with them. I am wanting to move to another state & wonder what happens to my claim? Does it move to the new state with me, or does it stay in the original state until it is decided/finished & then move to my new state? Also - I am wanting to move into warmer climate - but don't have an exact place picked out - I would appreciate any info &/or opinions on the different state's VARO (which ones have best service etc.) & the VA hospitals -& the best state benefits (tax exemptions/college for dependants/etc) - basically , from a veterans standpoint - what is the best state to l…

Dro Hearing
I have a DRO Hearing in October regarding my upper extremity peripheral neuropathy secondary to DMII caused by exposure to AO. In reading the decision is does not even make sense. One doctor said that the neuropathy was secondary to DMII and one doctor said it wasn't . In the original De Novo review the DRO said that my neuropathy was not due to DMII because is preceded in by many years. However, the VA granted SC for the PN of the lower extremities. The history of my PN onset is the same for both upper and lower extremities. It is almost as if the VA just split the difference between the two doctors. I think that reasonable doubt exists as to the cause of my PN.…

Should I Get 60% Or 70% Please Help Me Figure It Out
They posted the results of my BVA hearing, http://www.va.gov/vetapp06/files2/0606980.txt They awarded me a 40% rating on my back and 40% on the foot drop for a combined total of 60%. My question is: during the time this appeal was in process I tripped and fell due to the foot drop and broke my leg. I filed for the broken leg as secondary to the foot drop and was awarded 10% for the broken leg. I figure the total award should be 40% + 40% + 10% for a total of 70%. Right? This hearing result is all I have received to date, no letter from the regional office. Every time I call the VA 1-800 number I get the run around. I was concerned that since I have not heard a…

ptsd Bva Decision Today
The BVA has increased my Fibromyalgia to 20 percent and service connected Briquet's Syndrome without setting a percentage of disability. An earlier effective date for TDIU was denied again. This 32 page document is full of wrong legal standards and medical decisions made by the raters. They missed (ignored) most of the favorable evidence toward a higher rating for PTSD and the earlier effective date for TDIU. It's also full of contridictions and doubletalk. They acknowledge their adjudication mistakes and then explain why those mistakes are (harmless?) We had challenged their last examination, only of the records, and they explain why that challenge is inv…

I'll be making a few posts in categories to cover my bases. I am 47 and SC'ed for 50% hearing loss. I work as a mail processor at the PO, 16 + years (8 years 8 months 2 weeks and 6 days 'til retirement). Last year I finally got active in the process and got good advice here at Hadit. Been between 5 and 8 months since the claims went in and I got 2 letter in 2 days advising me of 4 C & P's this month! 15th - ENT for chronic otitis 19th - Audiology for tinnitus 26th - a 1215 Ortho for a jeep wrecked knee and a 1300 in Psych for them to determine b…
