Bill To Allow Lawyers For Vets Is Dead
Dear Fellow Veterans & Friends. Again our congressman have shown they do not belive in due process and constitutonal law for veterans. Congressman Lane Evens submitted a bill that would allow lawyers for vets at the VA level. Last week some un named congressman put the bill into committe. WHen that happens the bill will never see the light of day. Howcome they never mention the names of the congressman who kill those bills this ways? I would like to know if my congressman Keller or state senator Bill Nelson was the cause of this needed legislaton being killed in such a manner. Terry Higgins

Received Response From "special Adaptive Houseing Claim"
Greetings, I just receievd this from the VARO VIA e-mail. Can anyone give me their take on this? Thank you and God bless you all. "A decision on the appeal claim was recently finalized. A notification letter will be sent to you within the next week pending release of the letter and rating decision from the department supervisor who must review the work to be sure it was done correctly. After that, a decision on your claim could possibly be forthcoming." Thank you! Bound

Reduction Of Evaluation
I am a recent recipient of a 100% compensation for AO. I just got my initial check in Jan and have received 2 monthly checks. I just got a letter from my VSO stating that the rating board is going to reduce me to 0% and that I should not call him until I get the "official" letter from the rating decision board. Although, I am getting mixed messages when the next day the VA sends me a letter, like I got initially last year after I filed my claim that states they are working on my claim?? The information about Title 38 that I have gotten off of the website states that they will only pay me for my Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma during treatment and/or hospitalization and then after 6…

Are We Vets Missing Something Here?
Just checked on an earlier question to find the status of the bill intorduced in the House of Reps to allow legal representation for us earlier in the claims process. That bill with just two co-sponsers, has been referred to "committee" where it will die a quick (by congressional standards" death. What caught my eye was another piece of interesting legislation which was introduced in February of 2005 and also referred to committee. It called for action to reduce the backlog of claims at the VA and was co-sponsored by 38 representatives. The bill, H.R. 616 was sponsored by 34 Democrats and 4 thats right 4 Republicans! I'm reminded that a recent bill to require …

Great News From Mike Harris
Hello Everyone, I am sending this to those of you who know me and what I do for veterans. A few weeks ago I took the test and applied to become a legal "Veterans Service Officer" (VSO) with the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter 799 here in Coos Bay. I received an official letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs General Counsel yesterday stating the following: ***** Dear Mr. Harris, It is a pleasure to welcome you as an accredited representative of the above named organization for the preparation, presentation and prosecution of claims before the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) under the laws relating to veteran's b…

tdiu Another C & P Today
Had a C & P at audiology. The ENT that was supposed to cover my chronic otitis just wanted to talk about my tinnitus. Fittingly, sitting in audio for my tinnitus, the main topic was my otitis! Had the same snake in the grass that made her recommendations against my case in Dec. and I expect little else this time around. Is this some kind of a standard routine? mixing these up so nothing is conclusive and records are in the wrong folder or something? What are the odds it will be done over? The main feature of todays visit was a repeat of my Dec. hearing loss C & P. I guess they were hoping to get an inconsistent test if not create one! Naybe drop me …
