ptsd Social Security Denied...what's New?
Veteran worked over 48 years and never applied for or received unemployment benefits as he always worked. The last 12 years has had many problems changing jobs back and forth between 2. Put in VA claim in 05, and appealed a few times and was at 60% with PTSD @50% and Tinnitus @ 10% so vet receives 60%...still has VA claims appeals, however denied unemployment for "irrational behavior, and use of foul language and yelling and shouting co-workers and explosiveness! " Denied unemployment so he had to file for regular SS benefits, and filed for SSDI. DENIED! So he has an appeal for SSDI and one for his IU. VA is doing nothing with his claim, knowing he is unable to find…

Alj Hearing
Hello folks, I had my hearing yesterday and according to my lawyer everything went great. The V.E. (vocational expert) rep stated that I could do two jobs (postal sorter and Cashier/clerk). The judge gave her two hypothetical questions about me standing, sitting, and a few other personal problems I have and the V.E. stated I would not be able to do either job. My lawyer was allowed to ask the V.E. a question concerning me being off task for 25% of the time if I had those jobs, the V.E. told the judge in all instances I would NOT be able to work. The judge then concluded my hearing and told me to expect her written ruling within 30 -60 days, she also told me if I am awa…

Alj Denial
I applied for SSDI in March 2008, on my own, figuring that I could supply Soc Sec with the information they needed and I would be approved - it didn't happen as I planned and I was denied around July 2008. As I was already getting legal assistance from a NOVA lawyer, I knew he also handled SSDI/SSI cases. He told me to file for reconsideration, and if I was denied then get back to him. So I filed for Reconsideration and was denied by November 2008. I then signed the papers for the lawyer to represent me, and we filed for a review by an Administrative Law Judge, and the wait began. I researched the Administrative Law Judge and found out that he only approves 25% of …

Letter From Ss......
Received a letter from SS yesterday. It states that I meet the medical requirements for disability and gives me a date the disability has been established on. It also states that they have not yet made a decision about whether or not I meet the non-medical requirements. This appears to be good news.

Va Dental
VA rating 70%. USAF Retired in 1996 after 21years w/periodontal and box 17 of DD Form 214 is checked no. That's the box asking if dental care was provided in the last 90 days of service. Recently found my full mouth x-rays and treament records from 1995 confirming periodontal. I feel I should have been provided continued treatment since this appears to be service connected (in the dental records while on active duty), but was not advised at retirement. I read the VA thig about no compensation for periodontal and not seeking that. Would like to know if VA should/will provide treatment in light of these facts. I feel that the dental clinic should have instructed me on thi…

Hello again, all. Just your friendly neighborhood RuskiLinguist here giving what I hope to be the last in a long series of upd VA Voc Rehab has saiates regarding the Social Security Claim I filed back in 2009. I have followed almost all of the advice provided by the experienced folks on this site. I have a local attorney, after some serious problems with the SSD MillMachines who advertise a 99% win rate. Ssdi Backpay
I received a decision from the bench yesterday in my claim for social security disability benefits. I have been fighting with social security now since 2007. The judge in the first decision rendered a judgement that I thought was unfair but the judge I had yesterday was fair, consistent and polite. Does anyone know when will I receive my backpay and benefits?
