Pulmonary Embolism
On January 11, 2015 I had a pulmonary embolism. I was treated at the hospital. I was released after a week in the hospital. I was placed on Warfarin for six months. In July of 2015 was cleared to stop the Warfarin and basically to resume my normal life. Fast track to March 26, 2018 I had my second pulmonary embolism. Again I was in the hospital ICU for a week. Except that this time the blood clots were so massive that they did a procedure named balloon pulmonary angioplasty to dissolve the blot clots. After the week in the hospital I was released and prescribed Eliquis (an anticoagulant) for the rest of my life. I sure hope it will be a long life. I requested …

C & P Exam
Hi I was informed by LHI that I needed an in person C& P. Then all of a sudden, they said that all exams were canceled by the VA until further notice. Then a new claim popped up in ebenefits for me stating - Covid EXAm Cancellation review with an expected completion date of December 2021. Does anyone know what that is or what that means?

Unclaimed conditions found during C&P
I'm curious as to what, if any responsibility the VA may have for followup on conditions found during C&P that were not specifically on the original claim. Example: Claim for low back syndrome is approved at 20%, during the C&P exam, examiner notes radiculopathy down legs. Does the VA have any requirement to help "fully develop" the claim knowing that the radiculopathy is being caused by the original claimed condition. Thanks in advance, Randy

C&P tomorrow
So I will am heading to my in person C&P tomorrow. This claim is for arthritis (analogous to Rhuematoid). This is round 2 for this condition, I'm pretty sure I was a little to friendly with the last examiner and it didn't help things. I'm sure it has been covered many times before, but any suggestions on how to handle this exam.

Diagnosis vs. presentation
So I have been reviewing my medical records for my claim and thinking over all the stuff my doctor has told me. So I filed for psoriatic arthritis of the feet (among other things). In my medical records my doctor points out that I have plantar faciitis, he doesn't dive in to any detail in the records. Plantar Facitis can be how this arthritis manifests in the feet, its noted in a lot of medical literature. It is an inflammatory arthritis which effects where the soft tissue joins to the bone in some areas. Now my quetsion is when it comes to rating this, assuming the C&P goes well, should they rate this as plantar faciitis or under the residuals of arthritis such a…

New C&P exam from same Doctor
Here is my question: Has anyone had a C&P exam, doctor writes an unfavorable opinion about your condition and you get denied service connection. Next you turn in a supplemental claim they deny that new evidence. Next you go to a higher level of review and VA finds error and then sends you a letter telling you this occurred during the claim process. Now today VES the third party contractor for VA currently doing C&P exams with their pool of doctors. Low and behold the same doctor who wrote me a negative opinion last time is scheduled to a new exam. I'm really feeling uneasy about seeing the doctor again for a few reasons. First he was very abrasive with words with …

Do I need new C&P exam?
If my last C&P exam was 6 years ago when they denied my claim and BVA granted me service connection will I need a new exam before they can rate it properly or will they use the old exam information?

Does C&P exam mean the VA is leaning towards a favorable answer
This is my third time applying for disability for major back disability. I am disabled by SSN for back issues that started in the Gulf War. I was rejected twice from VA (they said no proof it was service related). I finally at the local VA found records that do show several sick calls and physical therapy done back then. This last time I put in for disability, they made me do a C&P exam. I am now waiting on my letter. Since they did a C&P this time, does that mean I will probably get a favorable decision?

Recently scheduled
Has anyone been scheduled for an in person C&P recently through one of the VA contractors even though VA facilities are closed? Just wondering if all in person exams are on hold or just at VA facilities.
