ptsd C&p Exam 4/22/10
I went in for my appeal for my PTSD Claim. (I am currently at 50% for PTSD w/depression) When the examiner was doing his thing, he had me answer many simple questions, but always looked at me as if I were an idiot. When I told him I did Route Security and Convoy Security, he commented, "Oh wow, I don't think those jobs would be very stressful." I just about jumped up and socked him. I don't know if he was trying to push my buttons to check the degree of my disorder, or if he was just being a jerk. Anyways, I was very offended by this comment. I did my best to keep my cool, he didn't show emotion, I wasn't able to "read" what he was saying with his body language. He'd just…

tdiu Advice Sought On Mental Health C&p Re-eval
I am rated 80% right now, with 50% for migraines, and 30% for adjustment disorder (many symptoms related to the headaches, memory impairment, anxiety, sleep problems, etc). I also have several other rated conditions (knees, back, wrist,) all 10%. I was notified I was being re-evaluated for my migranes and my adjustment disorder. I showed up as required. In both cases, I was unable to drive myself to the appointment. The Dr. who saw me for the migranes noted this in his report, the Mental Health Evaluator did not. The Mental Health evaluator omitted several things I said, he did not report my statement that I had not slept the night before, or that I was wearing …

What Do We Do Now?
My husband had a C&P exam for his eyes in Feb. for service connected ptergyium. The Dr. examined him and told him his eyes were worse. We rec'd his decision the other day and an increase was denied. We went to the VA to get a copy of the C&P report as we were confused by the Dr. stating his eyes were worse but in the letter from decision board said his sight was a little better. When we went to the VA to get the report there was no record of it in the computer. I called the C&P department and they told us that the report was in the Denver office waiting to be reviewed for decision. I told the lady that a decision had already been made and it was denied. …

Amazingly Fast Rating!
I had submitted my claim through VONAPP on 29 June 09 and had my C&P on March 9th at the Dublin VAMC. First off, everyone that I met there were amazingly helpful. They took me in for my CAT scan 2 hours early since I was there and the examiner could not have been nicer or more helpful. My submittal for compensation was for my DDD and lower back pain that I've had since 1992. I had a laminotomy with partial diskectomy in May '09 and a PLIF in Sep. '09. Anyway, C&P was on March 9th and I just received my "brown"envelope yeterday with a 40% for my back added to my previous 10%. I can say I was hoping for more, but am pretty glad with what they got and how fast th…

Please Help
My wife was medically discharged from the USAF 15 years ago and rated at zero percent from the VA. We were young and did not know what to do so we simply took the rating and moved on with our lives. My wifes condition has become severe and she can hardly get out of bed. We found this great site and started our quest for justice and we really owe so much to everyone; Thank you , thank you , thank you. My wife finally received a 20 percent rating from her knees but she is still rated zero percent for her back because the last C&P did not have a Range of Motion completed. We notified the VA through our DAV office, the VA has done a great job getting my wife another appo…

Calculator For Disability
Hi Everyone, I've been posting alot lately, but I did find a calculator out there that is easy to use to find out if it's worth going for an increase or not. Obviously you'd still want disabillities documented, but not always will they add to your rating, as we all know that 50+50% does not equal 100% disability. The link is www.173rdairborne.com/scrate-VA%20comp%20rater.xls It will promt you to open or Save, it's a clean file, and really simple to use. Some could find this helpful. Hope it works for you! -Sapper- "Drive On"

Had C/p Exam How Do I Make Sure I Get Letter Included
Hey A question for you experts? I had C/P exam on the 30th of March. On April 13th I got letter from civ surgeon that I am not able to be gainfully employed due to my SC back. I am having surgery for the Back 3 level disc fushion with hardware. I faxed the Letter to the VA department that is the office that is supposed to submit the file into the process. I am going to check with the powers that be to make sure they got the letter from my surgeon. I have fought this claim for IU for near 3 years it is on appeal and I do not want it to go to DC. No descion has been reached as of yet. Any advice look forward to hearing from you when you get the time.... Adios...

Rude Va Examiner
I had 1 of 9 exams on Tuesday for Migraines, Sciatica, and Carpal Tunnel...needless to say, the VA examiner was very rude to me and I felt I wasn't worthy at all.....he abruptly ended the portion of my exam after I was in pain while he was trying to manipulate my wrist (carpal tunnel). The rest of the exam was purely Questions. I wasn't rude or mean to him. I felt as if he was getting frustrated as I was in pain. He later said "well you have a big day on Monday". I later asked him if he was mad at me and he said no. Now I'm worried! Should I be? I feel that my documentation is "rock solid" and well documented for all of my claim conditions. -Big Country

Hep C
An old member I talk to just was turned down for life insurance cause he has Hep C. His only exposure would be air gun in Army and a colonoscopy he got a year ago at VA. Any thoughts that can be shared would be helpful. Pete
