  1. i understand, as i have a considerable amount of physical problems that are both service and non service connected in nature.
  2. no, i haven't but i was told last week when regional called that the va would be sending the necessary paperwork sometime this month and the guy mentioned the tdiu form. my gut feeling is to see where this goes in the next few weeks before filing the NOD. but i am all ears.
  3. i just got my official notification letter from the va regarding my request for depression secondary to my service connected back condition. they gave me 30 percent which raised my overall to 60 percent. but because the doc wrote that because my depression oftens causes social isolation, it would be highly unlikely that i would ever return to work, even in a desk job. i retired in 2001 because of other medical issues. .the letter says we have deferred a decision of individual unemployability pending development and examination. it further stated an exam would be scheduled shortly. my quandry is that i am trying to get my percentage to at least 70 or higher. i don't know if i have grounds to file a NOD (about the only statement in her exam that would come close would be the social isolation one) or re file the two orther claims which i severed from this claim i originally filed last october.
  4. my gaf was 55 and i got 30 percent. its still a crap shoot!!
  5. my pension check deposited in my account last tuesday when the va released payment.
  6. my depression was just approved and i didn't see combat.
  7. i can confirm that my july check was deposited late monday night. my netspend account releases money into my account as soon as the va puts it there. its usually 4 business days before the first of the month.
  8. nope. it was for depression, muscle spasms in my back and chronic radiluopthy. i severed the ortho claims to speed up the other one.
  9. i just severed my claim to get a determination on just the depression issue. the official letter i got from the va stated if i reapplied for the 2 conditions i severed within a year of getting the letter, if approved, would revert to the original filing date. this sort of sounds like what happened to you.
  10. that's how i got my pension determination speeded up as i was an excellent candidate to become homeless. i fell several times during 2001 and couldn't work. i got behind on my rent too. and i was in constant contact with the homeless coordinator at my local clinic.
  11. i received a medical discharge (from a medical board) but it was designated as general under honorable conditions.
  12. please clarify something for me, did you have a c&p on the original panic disorder claim? if so, was there a nexus? please correct me if wrong but wasn't your nexus statement that it was at least as likely as not from your current c&p exam?
  13. i double checked today....florida's diabled veteran plates have no wheelchair pictured on it.
  14. i deal with st petersburg, fl and other than a few miscues have been very good. other than my current claim, i believe everything has been resolved in a 5 to 6 month timeframe. the current one (going on 9 months) lost between 4 and 5 months due to miscues.....my original letter with what i was claiming was incorrect, took about 6 weeks to 2 months to resolve. then they sked me for my exam and never sent the letter. had to resked and lost 2 months with that. and they took one month to sever my claim as i decided to deal with just depression claim and wait on ortho.
  15. i'll let you know regarding my current claim which was requested to be expedited. back to my statement, i still had to have a c&p exam. i still had to have medical issues serious enough to warrant a positive determination. i doubt very seriously if it would have been approved in 90 days without a reason. obviously, we disagre. so i guess you would say getting my aid and attendance approved in 5 months was a piece of cake?
  16. in florida, the local legislature just passed a bill authorizing a V to be placed on either your florida drivers license or florida state id card.
  17. i beg to differ. i got my nsc pension approved in 90 days from start to determination by stating i was an excellent candidate to become homeless, which was true at that time. granted it was 2001 but they did it.
  18. is that 5 months from start to finish or 5 months after c&p exam?
  19. again i say good luck getting a copy of your exam before determination. you might get, you might have to wait until after determination. it changed at my local clinic because we changed jurisdictions from gainesville to orlando. but by all means, get a request in to have it sent to you. i have found over the years by looking at the exam results that you'll get a pretty good idea what your determination will be.
  20. dave, i needed a reporter friend to pry a copy of my most recent c&p exam from the va. my local clinic claimed they couldn't release before determination anymore. my vso said differently and sent a letter requesting it. i was told on the phone (while discussing another topic) that i could get it after determination. this is when i had problems with the dav (one said yes, the other said no) and i contacted a friend in the media. hope that isn't too confusing. perhaps, others can weigh in! good luck.
  21. i currently get aid and attendance on my pension because of rheumatoid arthritis. my hands are severely deformed and i clearly have trouble completing several daily living activities. i choose to receive this (at present) because it is more than my 40 percent service connected disability for my back.
  22. my late aunt was once 100 percent for TB. over the years, they kept downgrading her and she ended up either at 0 or 20 percent.
  23. i thought your regional office has to request if they feel there is enough information in your medical record to warrant.
