I have three scars that I am rated separately at 0%. I didn't even put in a claim for them. They were given from a C&P exam for a broken foot, broken hand and lower right inguinal hernia. I figure I will never get paid for them but at least they recognize them. Hey it is hard for them to away service connection for a scar. Like it is going to disappear?

Pete 992:
I am not so sure a veteran with 100% P&T should file any new claims after receiving P&T status. I would be afraid that this would be an open invitation for VA to poke in your file and see if they can reduce.

I am not IU... I am 100% schedular... but if it was me I would download the form each year from internet and fill it out and send it in through USPS mail green card certified and keep a copy for my records. Otherwise it gives them an open invitation to reduce your disability.

Range of motion. Instability of knee. clicking or popping. Xrays definitely. I am service connected for right knee.

I definitely think it is worth pursuing with a good attorney!

I agree with lotzaspotz! I went through something similar with my Columbia, SC RO. Once I got Congressional representatives involved the VA played nice. They have to answer to Congressional representatives if nothing else to explain their actions. Be persistent and don't give up! You can do this!

Just remember now that you are in the VA system for treatment you can start building up treatment records for stuff you were denied for. Also consider getting an Independent Medical Opinion for stuff you were denied for. We all get our service connections and percentages in small bites as VA gives piecemeal. I started off 30% then went to 40% then 70% then 80% and finally now I am 100% P&T. It is a never ending battle. Be tough and resolve to never give up!

You are not alone in your attempts to right a VA wrong! Many who are on this website are baffled by the endless shenanigans of the VA. Take heart that your brothers and sisters are here to help you!

Good luck ArNG11. I know you have been working on your claim for awhile now. Hopefully you will hear something. I was 80% for a long time and was really shocked when I was bumped to 100% P&T. I asked for P&T but was still shocked when I got it. I know from your posts that you have been patient and persistent. That is what it takes. Good luck!

Not sure? Perhaps someone else can answer. I always thought the code at the top of page on right side identified who was working on your claim and if you respond to put the code on the response letter so it gets back to the person who is working your claim? Sort of an identifier. That is how I responded back but I could be wrong. I am talking about the paper snail mail you get. I am not sure about that for Iris. I just used my SSN#

Buck, I read somewhere on hadit that there was a way to have your records amended but can't remember where I saw it. Check hadit and ask the elders here.

I don't have a DAV rep but I do have a rep. I do the legwork and I research the claim. Sometimes I let him file something for me.

Not to make light of your PTSD but getting the service connection is most important. You can always to submit new evidence showing your disability has worsened to get a higher rating later.

I would definitely get all the testing I could get. As a example my back only got x rays and they thought I had a partially herniated disk at L5-S1/ When I got MRI it showed I had 3 herniated disks in my back with L5-S1 severe. I had to fight them to get test. You can believe that Regional office knows about that MRI!
