yeah, I log into that all the time. Sometimes I can pull exam reports from there faster than it takes them to be dumped and ported to the VA side of things, I just pull them manually and upload them myself.

I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for the work and time you've all put in here on this board and community.
I've just had my final two C&P exams and for the 1st time in over 30 years I was able to speak about my depression and experiences while on Active Duty.
As some may know from a previous thread, I was awarded 10% for Tinnitus (unexpected!) And I am so thankful for that!
May seem small but to me, it's major because it feels like I am 'seen, heard, and have help now.
My final two exams were for Depression,  PTSD, and my feet.
I am so thankful for the 10% rating and this board that just having the exams is fulfilling for me!
So, thank you for your work and time here, you have helped more people than you realize.
My final two exams are completed and my final percentage is in the works (if any).
I will keep you all posted, in the meantime, thank you and please keep providing support.
My goal is to give to Hadit and support any way I can.

  3. Thanks

Because we are legally required to tell you that we are doing it. As for why, it depends on what issues you have out. Your most recent decision letter should tell you about deferred issues- either for increase, SC, or if they need clarified, etc.

The decision letters won't be in Ebenifits/VA.gov. I don't know why they don't put those in there with everything else, I just know they never have. I got out in 2002 right before Ebenefits started and Ive worked here for a little over a year and I still don't know why decision letters aren't included in your online documents. *shrug* I think they should, obviously, but I haven't figured out who to ask as to why they aren't.

The way it works now, is if the RO (Rating Officer), which I will call, rater, needs further clarification from the examiner, they will return the exam to the examiner and ask him/her to opine and return.  The examiner will opine and return, however, it goes to the "que" and the next rater available (remember, everything is digit's now, so they could be a million miles away) will take it and finish the claim or further develop.  In my case it went to the "que' twice, so I had three "different raters" all working on my claim, one after another.
My issue with this process is that the rater asking the question is not the rater that gets the answer, etc.  A very inefficient way of doing things, when different personalities ask different questions for different reasons.  I may ask a question that you would not ask etc.
Before the change to the que, ones claim stayed with the same rater till it was approved or denied.
    FWIW,
    Hamslice

To the OP and the original question,
I have had received payments while one or two of my conditions were referred for further work.  Actually, I received a little retro, then regular payments, and then after the deferred issues came back, a bump.
This was when they first started the process of farming out claims to the next rater in line, unlike before when your claims stayed with the same rater all the way through the process, so that might have had something to do with it.  I had one condition that I claimed go to three different raters in three different States with each question opined and answered only to go to a different rater, who hadn't asked the question in the first place.
    Fun with the VA,

I am familiar with flat feet ( I am a civilian) as I have sever pronation and could not possibly do some of the past jobs I had.My podiatrist told me to stop using a snow blower and a lawn mower
( he doesn't know I still weed wack) as podiatric problems can affect ones balance as well as other parts of their body.
A vet ( I posted this case long ago at the older hadit board, ) with SC  flat feet, gained TDIU because the flat feet had affected his  back, hips and knees so much that he could no longer work.
However being so long ago, these days the VA might say he could gain employment using a PC,where he would not be on his feet for 8 hours.
It is  always worth pursuing anything that can garner a compensable award.

    I believe that can Ham
its rare but they can recieve a 10% compensation monthly rate.
When VA grants service connection for a disability, it will assign a disability rating based on the presence and severity of the veteran’s symptoms. Each disability rating is then combined using “VA math”  to determine the veteran’s combined rating.  The combined disability rating ranges from 0 to 100 percent in increments of 10 and corresponds to a compensation amount. However, it is possible for a veteran to be service connected for a disability but not receive any monthly disability compensation. This occurs when VA assigns a veteran noncompensable VA ratings
    source: CCK Law Attorneys
§ 3.324 Multiple noncompensable service-connected disabilities. Whenever a veteran is suffering from two or more separate permanent service-connected disabilities of such character as clearly to interfere with normal employability, even though none of the disabilities may be of compensable degree under the 1945 Schedule for Rating Disabilities the rating agency is authorized to apply a 10-percent rating, but not in combination with any other rating.

    Just to add:
    "Multiple Noncompensable Ratings
Some veterans may have multiple noncompensable ratings for different conditions. In some cases, veterans can receive compensation for multiple noncompensable ratings. According to 38 C.F.R. 3.324, veterans who have two or more noncompensable ratings for separate disabilities that interfere with “normal employability,” VA is supposed to apply a 10% rating."

Not wishing you any bad luck, but if denied, get more info and appeal on the depression as secondary to the tinnitus. It is worth it if your evidence isn't strong enough. Actually, I would have claimed mental health including but not limited to anxiety, depression, etc. Let the VA figure it out. You are looking to get a disability rating and appropriate comp; you shouldn't be to concerned what the VA calls the disability.

USMCScorpio Your personal info posted doesn't say what your combined disability rating is, but I think you already have some rating currently. So this isn't really for you but veterans should know that if you are rated with two or more 0% ratings, the VA will convert them into one 10% rating. You have two right now. Once you do get any rating of 10% or more, the original two go back to just 0's, but you are still s-c for them. If you have worsening conditions on your o%  to result in a increase to 10% or higher for the same s-c condition also removes the rule for two 0% =a 10% also.  Just to let others know. Point is a 0% rating is still valuable as you can upgrade your s-c condition as you get older. Two or more has the added value of converting into a comp based monthly grant, which is even better.

Its not "that" unusual that the first notification we get is a deposit to our account.  The deposit comes electronically, the letter goes via snail mail.  Guess which moves faster..electronic deposits or the post office.
You will have to wait for the envelope to know what to do.
You may appeal "any portion" of the decision, except those deferred.  You may appeal the disability percentage, denial of other issues, or effective date(s).  But you have to wait on "deferred" issues.

USMCScorpio Congrats Veteran! Way to go. And as you probably already know, Tinnitus can lead to other secondary conditions such as MH issues, so wait and see what your other decisions are and appeal if you can. If you aren't satisfied with the coming decision, let us know the facts and maybe we can help further.

I am really excited and surprised to learn that I finally reached my 100% P&T SMC from the VA.  I just wanted to express my appreciation to this website reading about others success and not giving up. I was truthful with my disabilities to my C&P examiners and when I doubted my issues would not be looked at seriously I found that they were. I often think about how I wish I would have done this years ago. I know back then that I did not understand the system and that all I needed were my medical records (enlisted and VA) along with understanding how my illnesses/issues were connected. I always thought that being female in the military was really hard, but proving your disabilities afterwards seemed unimaginable. However, I did it and now I am 100% P&T SMC.  I am not going for TDIU because I really love my job and have no intention of quitting/leaving at this time.  Thank you HADIT for assistance with my guidance in this process!!!

From what you have read, it does sound like the VA needs to further develop those two as "deferred. So, requiring  another C&P may be the only way to get missing info to make a final decision.

We've been trying really hard to find ways to move some things, while others are just stuck. Records retrieval at the National Centers, for example (STR/201 file) is something we can't just go get. Same with exams- they got backed up for months during the worst of Covid in most areas, and some are still on a skeletal footing at best.
