  1. Berta, U mentioned the 10 year point in a previous post. So, what's that mean? I went on SSD in 1995 & Clark got my Comp back to 1997 So, I guess I have 11 years. Time flies when one is having a good time. HA Also, is there a 20 year ( If I get that far HA) benefit? & again Thank U for all the help over the years, Sincerly, GARY
  2. The way I understand it is the person handling the money has to account for all of it. Don't know just what I hear & also have to send paper work to VA GARY
  3. Berta, I find out now I'm included in the group that may have had their paper work Shredded where I appointed my Wife as my Guardian So, I get a letter from the RO that they have me as incompetent at the RO I have a year to contest this but may have come up with an idea This Doctor said "I need help 24 hours a day. If this be the case "Donn't you think I would rate a higher rate than L-1" I intend on having my wife as my Fuidicary but it would be sort of impossible for her to be with me 24 hours a day unless we were Siamese Twins. What I wish to get across to the VA is that I may have to pay other people to take me places or what ever. If U agree with this give me an idea on how to write it up as I am going to the RO tomorrow & at present they have me throughly pissed so I want to make sure I write it up correctly. Also, what form does that have to be on? Do you think it would be pushing it to much to tell them I think R-2 would be more the correct rate? If the RO denys it (HA) I can always appeal to the BVA. Sincerly, GARY I was thinking about contesting what the VA Doc wrote about me but don't think I can get out of having a Fuidicary. Thanks as always GARY
  4. Berta, I read some where that only about 8% of Vets NOD a decision from the RO's. So look at all the saved money there. Before I found hadit & U took me under your wing I had no idea how tricky the VA is. But, the more I read on here I find out something new & decivious the VA keeps on doing I just used to look & see if a claim was approved & if not I just threw it in the trash which I suppose the majority of Vets do. I did notice every time I filed a claim they all read the same {Statement of the case...I think that's what it's called & wasn't even smart enough to question that. Now they just forward it to the BVA if they deny (HA) claim & let me know as they know that's what I always do. But, thanks to U & hadit GARY is a bit smarter now. Heck, I even got SMC by my self. First claim I won took 9 years & if not for my Lawyer (Can't remember his name at present)Clark Evans. That's his name.. I'd still be standing with my hat in my hand As I have said before & will continue "Thank U very much for all the help U have given me over the years" Sincerly GARY
  5. In my humble opinion most of those so's don't know their azz from a hole in the ground. Get your information from this site as there are people on here that have forgot more than most so's ever knew. Gary
  6. Ok Here we go Saw a Doc. & she wanted to remove some of my eye lids as the damn things make me look like one of those Chinese People who look like their eyes are almost closed. So, I get a call from the VA where I have to have some other people look at me to make sure i need it done. The Doc doing it got in touch with ma & said " It was for Insurance purposes" So, I was wondering if having this done is dangerous or what? Has any one had this done? Thank U GARY
  7. Southern, When all else fails contact a Lwayer I'm sure someone on here can refer U to a good one. GARY
  8. OK. I will make my lil' suggestion...........OK The first thing one learns when they go in the Military is never "VOLUNTEER" for anything. But, that's just my thought & when in the Military that's what I always did GARY
  9. T Bird Ever since I have quit using SO's & used the advise I have gotten from your site I have no problems Thank U very much for having this site My Shrink has a SO he refers people to & me & the SO got into a very loud argument because he was giving me wrong information But, even after I poinyed it out he wouldn't concede he was wrong. All I can say is" If U want to get your claim approved, get all your information from this site( The Talent & Knowledge on this site is awesome to say the least) & if all else fails get a LAWYER GARY I guess I can say "Berta is my MENTOR & has been since I've been on this site. Joined in '05 & have made great strides with her help & others Again, Sincerly, THANK U for forming this site GARY
  10. Larry, U have a point there. Just pieces of paper that say's "we are money" Yep. Like I said " My Wife has been handling the money for the 40 years we have been married" & if I may say so She has done a terrific job. GARY .
  11. John, I'm of the same mind set. Lawyers are great. That's the way I got my 100 T&P after I tried for about 8 years. My Lawyer got it done in less than a year Some Vets don't want to pay 20% of their Retro pay to a Lawyer But, what's better? 80% of the retro or nothing Also, one gets their claim approved & it comes in every month The VA uses Lawyers so the Vets should also GARY
  12. Berta OK Here's what I need to know. When I first got comped I got the free 10k Policy But, on the papers I received it says "With any new approved claim" I can get a life insurance policy I'm sure I'm reading this wrong but I figured I'd ask U Sincerly GARY
  13. I commented on this earlier but all U are going to do this is putting the person U know in the welfare line & if said person is proven to be a fraud might have to pay back any monies that has been received already GARY
  14. T I was just thinking if they think I'm goofy they might kick up the SMC but seriously doubt if I will do that If U don't have someone to be your fudiciary the VA will appoint one & if it's some shylock Lawyer you'll have to pay said person GARY
  15. I have to agree with that Also, look at Congress. 700 Billion to bail out Wall Street & the Auto Companies ask for 34 Billion & as far as I know they have been turned down Why is it that people who actually create things are at the bottom rung of the ladder? Also, all the Billions being thrown away in Iraq when that Country is suppossed to have an 89 Billion dollar surplus this year I also read where the Federal reserve did something with 2 Trillion Dollars but refuse to say what it is that they did with it Get those Banana trees growing because that's where the US is heading Also, lets send some more jobs out of the US & give those CEO's some more bonus's of 50 Million Hard to be a "Poor Man" in a "Rich Man's" world GARY
  16. I'm sure anyone who came to the wreck site would have been aware he was drinking GARY
  17. Berta, Ya, I'm like a Pit Bull when I figure I'm owed something & just hang in there. But, if not for U,from the first claim I ever filed, I'd just be sitting on the curb. HA Sincerly, GARY
  18. Berta, No, they owe me nothing. In fact my Wife got a retro check last week for her SMC U think I could take the Incompetent rating & get a higher rating on my SMC? I'm at an L now, which I am very happy with, but if one can do better why not? All my money is sent electronicly ( Think I didn't spell that right) to the Bank. I really don't think I'm a goof ball but guess that Doc did. HA Sincerly, GARY
  19. Berta, I had what I thought was an ingrown hair on my lip removed & was told it was Cancer Also, I keep getting these damn cysts on me that I have to have removed. So far 2 on my back & one under my right eye which they thought was Basal (Fancy word for Cancer) but wasn't As U know I was in Viet Nam but that was a long time ago & believe the time linits have probably run out. What I'm wondering is if I could get my SMC higher because of this One more thing.....I got mmy Wife on SMC which is a Whoopin' $126.00 a month Again, I'll never be able to THANK U for all your help over the years. Because of U I don't even use a SO any more. Sincerly, GARY
  20. OK Here I am again asking for help from all the people at Hadit Usually address Berta (My Mentor) but I think I scare off some people from answering At present I am 100% T & P & have an L rating with SMC But, one Psychologist I had to see, along with all the other VA Docs, puts down on paper I am incompetent & need a Fudiciary I have no problem with naming my Wife as such but this all involves a lot of paper work & I'm branded a NUT. My Shrink(PTSD) said my Neurologist would be the only one that could challenge this but I have no idea when I see him again My Wife & I mailed in that we would like her to be the Fudiciary as we have been married 40 years & she has always handled the money & all I had to do is make it. HA So, in effect she was my Fudiciary for the last 40 years I damn sure don't want some stranger handling my money or a Lawyer & having to pay him/her which I find a bit illogicial. If anyone has ever gotten out of this situation I would sincerly like to know how U did it. Thank U for your time to read this Sincerly GARY Would an IMO do it?
  21. I gave up on using SO's some time ago as have never had anyy help from them. At present I am 100% T & P & also receive A & A All the answers I needed I found on this site. GARY
