  1. Arch, great news for you! Glad to see that it worked out for you.
  2. Larry, that is very interesting; they must have gotten your point.
  3. Larry, you keep me laughing, but I admire you for your knowledge and willingness to assist Vets. Congrats on your award and I'll keep your son, his family, and everyone else in the path of the storm in my thoughts and prayers.
  4. Ricky, I understand how you feel, and that is ok. But remember, my friend, it is not your fault that your claim was successfully completed and many of our other Vets brothers and sisters claims are mangled by the VAROs. It's the VA FAULT and they know it as we all do. You keep helping out like you have been doing and providing that moral support which helps to get many of us through this ordeal with the VA.
  5. MCSO111, welcome to Hadit and thank you for your service to the nation. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and I know that your spouse and young kids love you and need you. Hang in there and stay in prayerful; all will work out for you in the end. B)
  6. Congrats Tom! You earned it and I'm glad to see that the VA DRO recognized that instead of having your case unecessarily delayed for a BVA hearing/decision.
  7. Free, great advice from all here on the site. I believe Larry and Betty has a valid point in you contacting your congressional rep and letting them send in your documents or inquiring about your claim. It is really terrible what they are doing to you and to think that our tax dollars are paying them to "play games" with you on whether or not they received "certified mail" just irks the hell out of me. :D
  8. In my opinion, I would not call it an "overpayment" if I have not received "anything" from the VA that reduced my rating. :D However, I would move the funds to another account and put it in savings and wait until I get something official in writing from the VA reference the C&P.
  9. Welcome to HADIT and thank you for your service to the country. I am sorry to hear about your situation, however, you have come to the right place to get exceptional advice from the knowledgeable Vets here who have dealt with the VA for some time now. I am unable to answer your question, but, just hang in there and someone will chime in and provide you the answers to your questions.
  10. Great news for you Larry. I hope you enjoy your well deserve award!! :D
  11. I had one from a civilian doctor and it came back as "normal"; the reflex test where they take the mallet and hit you on the knees was abnormal. :P Still I am on neurotin for the burning and tingling in my leg and feet.
  12. For those like her, I usually do an IRIS "compliment" informing management personnel of the VA employee act for meeting or exceeding the standard of service to Vets and ask that they, management, pass on my thanks to said employee. Just a suggestion and I'm sure she will appreciate it too. :P
  13. Congratulations Sandbox! B)
  14. Way to go Ruffcreek; good to see you got your claims granted!!
  15. Great news for you! Hope you succeed in the other claims also. B)
  16. Berta, the PN is not due to diabetes. I will raise that point at the hearing as you suggested; thanks.
  17. Update, great advise from some of the posters for this topic that I will remember when I go to the VARO hearing. Submitted my Form 9 BVA appeal after receiving SOC. Also requested a VARO hearing. Got letter today that hearing is next month. After reviewing 2006 C&P from this that they used to initially deny SC, I notice VA doctor stated that that "there was no C-file to review". Wasn't this supposed to be available for examiner to review which they would had seen the issues from the previous EMG/NCV study and on-going problems/treatment? I have since received another doctor's medical opinion in June 2008 who took a full history, reviewed my medical records, and sent me for an EMG/NCV. The EMG/NCV came back normal but he (doc) stated that the condition is chronic "peripheral nueropathy of the left lower extremity" and prescribed Gabapentin for it. I hope this PN diagnosis doesn't cause any further delays; any comments are welcomed and appreciated.
  18. Gene, Welcome to Hadit and I'm glad to hear that you overcame the challenges SSA put you through and won your case.
  19. Ricky, Congrats on your CUE win!!
  20. Below is the IRIS response I received: Mr. Xxxxx: We apologize for any inconvenience caused by VA personnel not taking your call. Our supervisor has been made aware of your inquiry and will handle the situation accordingly. Again, we apologize for any mishandling of your call. Thank you for contacting us. 21. Kookie, congratulations on your award. I'm glad to see the VA did the "right thing" by you in giving you the 1988 effective date instead of making you fight them for years to get it corrected. ;)
  22. My prayers are with this family as they mourn the lost of an American hero.
  23. I signed this also and it looks good for Vets if it passes and becomes law.
  24. Thanks for the assessment RG; I'll let you know the official outcome when I receive it. B)
