  1. Well I got a rise out of you. Actually I was referring to the posts responding to you but if the shoe fits....
  2. Is this site to help vets win claims or how to scam the VA?
  3. Maybe you could try a different mask than the one you are using now. I have nasal pillows. They are not that comfortable and it took me several months to get used to it. But now I am sleeping 8 to 9 hours every night with the machine and mask on. I think it would be worth your time and effort to try and find a mask that works for you.
  4. I would go to your VA Medical Center ROI (release of information) and get a copy of your C&P. This should tell what determination the examiner made. I got my final decision three weeks after my C&P but I think that was unusual. I had a copy of the C&P and from the doctors conclusions I was confident that my claim would be awarded and it was.
  5. I agree that it is incomplete. Did not see 11E Armor
  6. Jim Strickland answered my question here: http://www.vawatchdog.org/10/nf10/nfsep10/nf090210-1.htm
  7. I couple of days ago I saw a post which I can't for the life of me find now. It stated that it is now time to send in your annual employment questionnaire if your are on IU. I have always been under the impression that VA form 21-4140 is to be submitted around the time of your award. If I am mistaken I would very much appreciate someone correcting me. Is the form due around the first of the year or around the time of your award? The only info I find on VA sites is that the form is due annually which does not really narrow it down for me.
  8. I noticed the other day the MyHealtheVet now shows appointments - pending and past. While I was waiting for my C&P this would have been a real help. My concern was always they would schedule the exam and I would not get the notice. That did not happen to me. Everything went like clockwork. This could be another resource to check if that is a concern for you.
  9. Outstanding!! I only had to wait two years. I can't imagine waiting 12. You deserve every penny. They should not have made you wait that long.
  10. I had my TDIU C&P last September. Three weeks later I had my decision and money in the bank. Could not believe it went that fast. My C&P was ordered by my DRO hearing officer after an appeal. So it actually took two years. Nice chunk of back pay. Paid off the mortgage. I would not be worried because it went fast. Fast is good!
  11. Pete Glad to hear you are feeling better. I always enjoy reading your informative posts.
  12. I use Google Chrome and have not noticed any difference.
  13. Larry I was not upset with you. I was upset with myself for my flip posting. No apologies from you are necessary. The apologies are all mine. Lets consider this finished and move on. Thank you.
  14. I don't know if my conditions would apply in your case but this is what happened with me. I have DDD, bone spurs, compression fractures, ankylosing spondylitits, curvature of the spine and hip displacement. My back was rated on range of motion only.
  15. Larry J When I mentioned free I was not thinking in the context of what we all here have given. Some gave more than others. My comment was not made to put a price on your service. I truly regret that you read that in to it.
  16. Berta The meds by mail program works well if you have on going meds. Once you get it set up it is completely free. As with the rest of CHAMPVA absolutely no hassles. Hard to beat free.
  17. Just a thought. You should go back to the VA Medical Center and go to Release of Information. Get a copy of your C & P exam. That should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect in the decision.
  18. It is good to know there is a cap of attorney compensation.
  19. It always seemed to me that there is no incentive for your attorney to settle your claim. The longer they stall, the more they make. That is why I would only use an attorney as a last resort.
  20. My IU is based on SC gunshot wounds with secondary arthritis in my back and knee.
  21. At my DRO hearing my DAV rep was out of town. A new guy went over my file with me for about 30 minutes. My wife, me and new DAV rep went in and presented out case. Rep mostly handled the presentation for me. My wife and I chimed in and clarified a few points. The hearing officer shut of the tape recorder, told me what I needed for her to approve it. I was able to get that for her and my claim was approved.
  22. I have mulitiple problems in my back along with a lot of other vets. On my claim I asked for compensation detailing all separately. The C&P just rated me on ROM but they gave my 100 % so I haven't been too concerned about them not mentioning all my conditions. I don't know if I should be.
  23. The long term care policy was purchased thru USAA.com. Good company. The policy was underwritten thru John Hancock. I shopped long term care with John Hancock with a local agent and USAA was quite a bit cheaper. If use you a local agent you end paying his commission also.
  24. We have CHAMPVA only. I am comfortable with having only that. The only other insurance we added was a long term care policy for my wife which we obtained thru USAA. Long term care insurance is not too expensive if you buy before you get too old. I am not willing to give up a chunk of my assets for nursing home care and I don't believe in transferring assets to your kids so the government has to pay for your care.
