Well I was shocked this morning in the mail I received a copy of my C-file that I had requested three years ago from the St Petersburg RO, Now I am overwhelmed and do not know where to start next. I will take a few day's to go through thhe 15 hundred or so pages and see what I can come up with. So if I am not around for a few members will understand what I am doing. Thanks for all the support and concern, especially Wings and Berta and Pete for always being there.

Get your self about 5 -3" binder and few packs of Color tabs (colors for different injuries and evidence) and some see threw sleeves and as you go threw all that mess you do it one time and tab those that are important to your cause this way you can also clean out those extra copies as well...... Right on Tanker, and yes make copies of everything. Maybe even 2 files.

Tanker, good for you! I heard some places like Kinkos will scan documents onto a disk. Seeing the price of copiers and paper, I may just be doing that myself. I have good copies of my SMRs, my Cfile, my VA medical records, my vocational rehabilitation records. (I requested each specficaly by name, learned to do that here at Hadit!)

I agree with Yoggie, I put my pages in plastic document protectors while watching old tv shows, (rare treat).

Old trick I learned, use a file stamp in any color than black, then I know its 'mine'!

Good luck, and if there is 15 hundred pages (alot?!) give yourself a 'happy break' from your yesterdays personal history.

Ditto what everyone else has said, plus good advice from cg. Remember to take a break from it all.

I just wanted to add...this should be a thread of hope for those who are still waiting on their C-File or some other important document(s)from a VARO. WOW!! Three years is a long time to finally have your request answered.

When I finally got a copy of my C-File I discovered an issue going all the way back to my original decision. It was so obvious it hit me like a thunderclap. You never know what you might find in there when you start to look especially at old, final decisions.
