Sad news, a sailor died today. Our brother Stretch has passed away. The details will follow. Stretch has been on hadit.com so long even I don't remember when he joined, before 2005 that's for sure.

Stretch so believed in our mission that he dedicated endless hours of his own time reading the forum and answering questions where he could. He also volunteered and was the sole technical expert for our podcast and he volunteered his time freely because of him we have archives of the podcasts back to 2010.

I am writing my memoirs and would love it if you could help a shipmate out and look at it.

I've had a few challenges, perhaps the same as you. I relate them here to demonstrate that we can learn, overcome, and find purpose in life.

The stories can be harrowing to read; they were challenging to live. Remember that each story taught me something I would need once I found my purpose, and my purpose was and is HadIt.com Veterans.

I talked back and forth to Stretch many times. He knew where it was at as vet and fellow VA Foo Fighter. He was not 70 years old. He will be missed.

Great guy and an inspiration to me. He will be missed.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

Mike Sasser was my friend. Mike was the ultimate perfectionist as he would take every radio show and spend hours reformatting and uploading to Hadit. He sent me all archived shows. He was also a very creative thinker whose ideas were always productive. He was an engineer, a designer as he had several businesses in California when he lived there. He could flat out rake on a guitar and I always enjoyed him playing. He was a farmer who raised cattle. He was a father, Husband and family man. Most of all he was a true advocate for disabled veterans and even on days when he was hospitalized he always found the time to tell another vet about Hadit.

Being on a website, we don't often get to meet our friends face to face but I can say I am proud to have met Stretch. Rest in peace my friend.

John Stacy AKA Jbasser

Funeral arrangements are pending and we will pass them on as soon as we can.

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.
