Oh yes. Ever had a tdoc tell you this one? I heard it today. In fact it's the 2nd time that I've heard this from this tdoc that I see. She says that I'm "too unstable" for regular trauma therapy. Well gee....now I wonder what could be contributing to my severe depression and therefore to my instability...lets see....trauma? Bingo!!!!! I've written all about in my blog on here.....It's absolute craziness. Anyone else ever heard this from their therapist/psychologist?

I'm going to try and make a long story short. I've been trying to get into the pain clinic for a year now. Had an appointment a year ago, was about to be seen when I had heart problems and a code blue was called on me. I have hyptertension and tachycardia, but it was extremely bad that day due to the anxiety of my pain(which I've been experiencing for the past year due to no treatment). The dr. that was supposed to see me has been telling me for the past year to see dermatology and reuhmatology. It's been a visous cycle. Once I see both of them, I call the pain clinic asking to be seen, and they tell me I have to contact my primary care for a new appointment. My PCP …

I've been dealing w/it for 2yrs and paying for my own testing equipment. I decided to ask VA for my testing stuff. My BS's are good. My A1C is 6.8. The VA gave me new testing equipment but ordered me to test once, on Mon, Wed & Fri, and only ordered enough strips for 3 times a week. This doesn't seem like proper care to me. I know other vets, w/same dose metformin, that test 4-5 times daily. I prefer to test more frequently and have done so, when paying myself. It's my health. I'm considering switching to one of those Diabetes services on TV w/medicare and paying the co-ins. Anyones thoughts appreciated. Thanks. pr

I suspect that this visit is not going to be a good one. I usually look forward to seeing my Primary Care Doc or PCP as VA calls her. Over the years I have grown to really feel that she has my best interests at heart. However I have not been feeling all that well and suspect that I am going to have to agree to do some proactive work at VA and that kind of makes me nervous. I also plan to ask that the VA stop sending a nurse as the one they are sending is a real mess and whatever they are paying her is to much. My wife is not feeling up to going so my Brother has volunteered to take me. I have a lot of medication issues, running out, not getting on time ect. …

I'm new to the VA health care system. How do you communicate with your primary care team between appointments? I've tried calling the nurse. Leaving a voice mail message is a bad way to communicate any way. Get stage fright as soon as I hear the beep. This is the second time I've called and left a message for my Team Nurse at the VA outpatient clinic and no response. The first time was because I switched from my pvt meds to the VA meds all at once and that put my numbers out of whack. BP, pulse and blood sugar. I left a total of 3 messages. After about 1 1/2 wks I switched back to my pvt meds to get my numbers back down. After 3 weeks she finally returns my call a…

Well, I kinda fell off the face of the earth for a few days. From Tuesday-Saturday I've been in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Miami Valley Hospital here in Dayton. Friday I had to have a pacemaker put in. Came home yesterday. My heart rate kept dropping into the 30s and I kept passing out...I called the squad on Tuesday, I kept passing out in the squad and the ER and I woke up to find myself hooked up to the crash cart--that's scary as hell!! At first the docs thought it was that the VA had over-medicated me so they waited until all of my meds were out of my system, but my heartrate still was dropping in the 30s and very irregular. I told them that I had been…

Just FYI... WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — A planned daylong focus by Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s leadership today, May 5, on suicide recognition and prevention — after four apparent suicides involving base personnel within six months — spotlights a problem afflicting all of society. Wright-Patterson’s 88th Air Base Wing will suspend operations today to allow wing commander Col. Bradley Spacy to address employees about the availability of Air Force programs that offer help for those who might be considering killing themselves. The event is open to the wing’s 5,500 military and civilian employees, and other organizations at the 24,000-employee base. There…
