Can A Wife Of A Vet File After His Death?
My uncle is a highly educated Veitnam vet who is in very bad shape with cancer. "prostate, colon, and now liver". As smart as this man is, he is also terrifed of doctors and neddles and the VA.... He flat out refuses to go through the motions of filing a claim with VA. With certian cancers being linked to service in Nam, can my aunt file a claim after his death?

hypertension My Introduction
I spent 36 years trying hard to deny any connection to the VA. In 2007, a kind man convinced me that I was dealing with PTSD and needed to be seen by a professional. I entered a VAMC in August 2007, while hitting my bottom, and have been under their care since then. I filed claim for PTSD in February 2008 and am currently SC'ed for PTSD at 50%. Along with my PTSD, I deal with hypertension, bilateral peripheral vascular disease with occlusion of my right femoral artery and carotid stenosis with occlusion of my right carotid artery. I am not SC'ed for these problems at this time. I've been searching thru Hadit for information and support. Since I've sp…

Cavc Or Equitable Relief?
I have recently had an appeal rejected by the BVA and I am trying to decide whether to appeal to the CAVC or to file for equitable relief. The facts are these. I retired from active duty in feb. 1969 by reason of medical disability. Just prior to my retirement, I was offered the choice of receiving VA compensation at 100% or military retirement. I was advised to take the latter since it was more than the former, and I did so. In 2005, I filed a claim concerning, among other things, the rating I had been given. The VA acknowledged a CUE in that I should have been awarded SMC for loss of one leg and loss of use of the other and the CUE was made retroactive to feb. 196…

Smc
This may be a dumb question, but can anyone tell me if Special Monthly Compensation is a one-time payment or is it actually paid monthly for each month that a vet is entitled to it?

ptsd Tdiu & Ssd
I have a 100% schedular rating for PTSD and receive SSD. I was originally rated 50% and began receiving SSD shortly after this rating. I was rated 100% a year later. My question is I am thinking of applying for P&T backdated to the date I began receiving SSD. I am wondering if the SSD award would actually help me in this case. I have researched the diagnostic codes for the SSD and they are for my PTSD. If so, what would I need to do to begin this process?

ptsd Difficulty In Filing Ptsd Due To Mst(long But Plz Help)
I hope someone can offer a workable suggestion. I have been attempting for 9 years to file a claim for PTSD due to multiple incidents of MST. I've made slow progress. I placed a phone call which confirmed the worthiness of my claim. I tried to enter the VA hospital and failed. Next accompanied by a nurse i did enter, only to leave. Several years later I barely made it in to get a va card made and receive a Rx for PTSD (Zoloft). During this my marriage failed due mostly to the PTSD. Years later after I lost my job (due to PTSD). I managed again only with a nurse helping me; to continue to get zoloft. Eventually, after losing my home, I managed to have a few visits with th…

I Need Help
I have MS and I was under the assumption that you receive a minimul rating of 30%. I have been rated 30% but when I got rerated for my residuals they lowered it to 10%. Now it says multiple sclerosis and right arm weakness is 10% left arm weakness 10% right leg weakness 10% left arm weakness 10% depression 10% visual loss in right eye 10% Now my total disability is 60 percent. This is very confusing to me. If anyone can elaborate more and clarify for me it would be greatly appreciated.

Vamc Physcians Opinion
Hello All Hope All Is Well. My question is simple if you recieve care and treatment from a VAMC for service connected injuries sustained during service. And ask your neuro or PCP for an opinion. I would like to think that this show a clear validation of care and treatment for these injuries over many years. I would like to think that the VARO utilizes VAMC documentation before an outside opinion or just take the two opinions and meet some where in the middle provided they actually read the documentation for rating purposes. Your Thoughts and Thank you.

C+p Examiner
Hello All Hope All Is Well I have an appointment for C+P examination upcoming later in the month. The dilema I face is this P.A. has done exam prior a couple of years ago but never established his personal opinion and was merely speculation on his part thus never giving an adequate exam. The other P.A. I have also seen about six years ago he also never established an appropriate exam. No C-File present on both exams I never reviewed or saw it.I did ask for a review didn't happen. Now here is my question with two failed or inadequate exams how can these P.A. still be in business? Especially when a real Physcian signs off on this exam as if they have done …

It's Me Again/questions
Why do they ask what you want with your files? Are they supposed to ask this? I don't think it's any of their d--- business!!! Requested Somerset VA copy files 2 wks ago and just to check yesterday while at VA Lex., asked ROI(in person) about status. She went and checked and then came back and said she couldn't find the letter.. What the heck? I'm not that blonde, how does she think I don't know that the mail will be there no more than 3/4 days? Now I understand you guys. Pissed me off!! e says to simmer down but I wanted to b---- slap her. Sorry just mad. You scared me with the stories of 45 days to a year to get files. You can bet your butt I'll check every w…
